Best pizza I've had in a while. Looking for a New Mexican flair on pizza you have to try the 505 pizza pepperoni and green chile pizza. I have never dined in this place before because we always do pickup in the drive thru. As soon as we put the order on phone we drive down and it's most likely already ready for pick up. If you get the green chile sauce to dip with the 505 pizza slice it just elevates the pizza that much more. It's Dion's. Freakin delicious every time. Period. They got my order wrong like once or twice in 10 years. Pretty good percentage considering we go here twice a month. This Dion's is my favorite, though they all have great food and a great environment, the restrooms and the dining room are never dirty, they do a very good job at keeping the tables and seats clean, and if they're busy, you can even clean your own table as they leave the sanitizer water and a towel by the entrance which i think is a great idea! The Turkey and Swiss sub, Turkey Salad, and the Pepperoni pizza are my favorite meals from any dion's as it's very hard to go wrong with these, but some other notable dishes, are the Caesar salad, and the meatballs! Went to Dions for a friend who just had surgery and I picked up a salad for myself. I placed my order over the phone, with a sweet employee who was really friendly. When I showed up to pick my order up it went very smoothly. The salad was very good, although it was a little watery. I will be back to try again soon. read more

I was supper happy about the drive through as a way to pick up my order! Locals already know, but I still don't consider myself a local just yet despite living in Albuquerque for four years now, so I'll weigh in as if we're all newbs around these parts. This particular location is really nice, and what really stood out the most to me on this particular visit was how nice and informative the staff were. Seriously, it had been a couple years since I set foot in a Dion's, and as I asked for patience from the gal behind the counter, it and more was given. In addition, the young man who was standing by along side the young gal was equally nice and helpful as he weighed in with crust specifics. Management, if you're reading, what a great group of young employees you've assembled here. Great job! The pizza? Yup! It was fantastic! And, I think it's worth noting that we actually received the extra cheese that we paid for. How often have any of you paid for extra cheese and felt totally screwed when the pizza arrived? I absolutely love dions! The food, staff, and prices are amazing! I feel like you will be highly satisfied with any food you get including the sandwiches and pizza. I personally like a pizza with a lot of vegetables and meat. But most of all, I need green chile on it. It adds a whole other level of flavor to it. However, that level is usually some "kick" that some people may not be accustomed to. Another little gem about this is the green chile ranch. I like to add this to whatever I eat at this restaurant. Ordered the Special Medium Pizza extra crispy because I saw on other posts that it was not fully cooked- well I picked up my order and I forgot to check the pie before I left and got home and the pizza was not fully cooked. My wife and I were excited because Dion's is one of the closest restaurants to the resort we are staying at and we love your salads and subs - my wife gets them once a week at work, so we are big fans! We asked for recommendations and were told that the carnivore pizza was a top seller and should be tried, as well as the cheese bread. We received our order and sat down to eat - salad was delicious and fresh as usual, cheese bread is good, but the pizza was honestly terrible. So we continues to work on our meal and I can't even get 2 full slices of the pizza down. We were asked twice about to go containers by someone walking around and I said "no thank you" to a pizza box, to which she responded "are you sure? There's a lot left!" But did not ask about it or send a manager by- my wife convinces me to go to the front and say something and order a sandwich to go because we know they are delicious. I went up and Lexy is who met me and seemed perplexed that I was standing there with 3/4 of a pizza still - I explained that the pizza wasn't good and that I wanted to order a sandwich. She grabbed the pizza and took it back into the kitchen (surprising with current COVID restrictions) but first said "thats's interesting our pizzas are really good." We walked over to the register, I paid for my large sandwich, and asked to speak to a manager to address the pizza. No manager came out so I went and stood by the front and she pointed through the barrier and said "he's back here." (Am I supposed to jump the counter?) I start speaking to Jax but realize there is no concern and at this point don't have faith in this location - so I asked for a refund on my sandwich, he argued with me and said there was nothing wrong with the sandwich - I explained that I haven't received it and no longer want it. So I finally get a refund for my sandwich, still no concern about the Carnivore pizza, and leave. Honestly I somewhat expected some concern for that fact that I had an untouched pizza and a complaint- but there was none. I don't even paid for my replacement meal - but that still did not click for Jax. Very sad because we come about once a month to this resort and this was the closest location- we went down the street and ordered something else. I would avoid this location, the customer service is appalling, and I will not ever order another carnivore pizza from Dion's - there should have been an offer to refund/replace my $15 pizza or some level of concern - there was none. Was craving some pizza and we decided to go here because it was close to our hotel. We got the pizza with the green chili on it and it was pretty tasty! Wasn't the best pizza I have ever had, but it was good. It also wasn't overly spicy or anything for those of you, like me, do not like a lot of spice. The cheesy bread though is pretty disappointing. It is literally just sliced cheese on bread. Nothing else to it but that.. so it was very bland to eat and I was not satisfied at all with it. Although we got takeout the atmosphere was very family friendly with lots of kids around. There also is plenty of space to park and eat. Not to loud in there and looks decently clean. My experience at Dion's (I'm not too sure which Dion's it actually was, my memory isn't the best when it comes to locations) was quite terrible. The pizza was good, and the ambience was quite pleasant, however the service was just atrocious. The girl who served me was I believe named "Nova". She was very rude to me. She rushed me several times so that she could "get home when she wanted for once" and she seemed annoyed at every request I had. I am allergic to pine nuts, and when I found nuts on my salad, I politely asked if the salad could be remade. She then snapped at me and said that i was a liar, and she purposely didn't put allergy on my order because she "knew I was lying". I was appalled. I asked to speak to a manager, and she declined saying "the manager has no time for lying geezers like you". I grabbed my wife and left immediately. I've never been so disrespected in all my 67 years of life. This girl should be fired. No one should ever behave this way in a place of work, especially to a customer. read more

This place USED to be really good. Over the years I noticed the service started lacking and it seems like 95% of their work force is teenagers. Most notably about 5 months ago the pizza started tasting different. I thought it was just my imagination and sure enough the few times we have eaten there recently the pizza tastes sweet? I am not sure if there was a recipe switch or a vendor switch but I'm really bummed about these negative changes. Now the last straw was when I called in an order pizza and chef salad with turkey. First off they used a cheap ranch that tasted bad. 2nd of all the lettuce is wilted and the turkey was chewy and gross. Seriously what is going on with Dion's? Is the expansion causing quality control issues? Was the company bought out by Pizza Hut or some other large corporation that lacks quality control process? Very disappointed, threw my salad in the trash, I could t fathom eating wilted lettuce. From now on I goes I will go to village pizza or make the trek to Mimmo's. I Love it Dion's, New Mexico loves Dion's and here's why: I love a constant! The pizza is consistently great. It's great at any location and every time I go. That means a great deal to me. The toppings are good and there are plenty to chose from. I am honestly not a person who eats every piece end to end. I'm fickle about my crusts. In fact, if the crust isn't good, I'll leave it, but here I actually eat it all. NM kids will tell you the secret is dipping the crust into the Dion's signature ranch dressing or pouring it over the entire slice. The salads are actually the reason for that dressing. I've found they are great served there or when you open them at home. Every time. The salad comes in bowl sizes that make sense and my favorite, the chef, has fresh egg, cheese and tomato along with generous slices of ham. I love that you get tongs to scoop your salad!! This may seem small, but I can't help it. I love it. I think a reason for their success is that they only do a few things and they do it well. Pizza, subs, salads and their drinks are what they are known for. Yes, you can get good fruit cups, good chips, cookies and dressings, but I think doing the main sellers well is what makes them great. You see too many places trying to do too much and it fails. There was/is a place on the SE corner of San Mateo & Lomas that does Greek/Mexican? I say find something you do well and improve on it daily. The place is usually clean and friendly to groups, singles, couples of every age. I've always had good service. Seating is indoors and some outdoor. No loud music or TVs to compete with your conversations. Kids can watch the pizza being made in back and they schedule tours for them too. The two biggest gripes I know of about them is 1) No wi-fi [Kind of absurd considering so many young people visit there] 2) Nutrition info is not posted. [You can get it from the main office] I've also heard of ppl getting a mix up; like a cheese pizza vs. a combo. I check my order everywhere I go in every city. Sometimes the wait can be a bit much for some, but I haven't experienced anything unreasonable. Any blog, post or email that asks what we love or miss about New Mexico is sure to mention Dion's. It's that big of a deal here. My typical order is: A full chef salad and either 1 or 2 slices (depending on hunger pangs) & the lemonade or Arnold Palmer. The slice for me is usually mushroom, green chile and a meat or the special w/ green pepper vs. olive. Dressing is the low-fat ranch b/c it helps keep the chunk down. read more
