    Pineapple Fried Rice with Chicken
    Matthew B.

I've been to this great food pod many times but this was my first time going to Thida's. The pod has 7 food trucks, covered seating and all are well maintained. I ordered online which was convenient and easy to navigate. I arrived and the food was ready on time. The woman who assisted me was friendly and helpful. We got our food and headed home. We ordered the Potstickers, Spring Rolls, Pad See Ew with beef, Pad Khing with shrimp, Pineapple Fried Rice with chicken, House Curry with chicken and the Crispy garlic chicken. The potstickers were good but the spring rolls were great. They had a great crisp to them and wonderful flavor. The noodles in the pad see ew were spot on and beef was good. The pad khing had ample veggies and shrimp, very good. The pineapple fried rice was really tasty and no skimping on veggies, pineapple and chicken. The house curry was amazing! Great taste but not a lot of veg or chicken. The crispy garlic chicken was also amazing! The outside was SO crispy and the chicken perfectly juicy. The food was all very good and equal (or better in some cases) to all of the brick and mortar Thai restaurants in the area. We'll be back

Wonderful thai food cart in the area! Menu is pretty expansive across apps, noodles, soups, rices, and curries. Portion sizes were a good size for the price point. Really enjoyed the pad see ew and thai fried rice. The pad see ew noodles were flavored well and the thai fried rice had a nice kick with the peppers. The cart shares a small spot with other food carts so not many tables around for larger groups.

Variety of Thai dishes from Thida Thai Kitchen

We were in the Sellwood neighborhood and came across this Thai food cart: Thida Thai Kitchen. As big fans of Thai food, we decided to order some of their cuisine for dinner. The lovely lady behind the counter window was very friendly and she efficiently took our order. We ordered quite a bit ( 6 dishes, to be exact ). It was a feast. The house chicken curry has a nice punch over the white rice. The pad kra pow ( I hope I spell it correctly ) and the pad cashews are flavorful and spicy. Pad Thai has the right texture and delicious. The Tom Yam soup is tangy, sour, sweet, and spicy.... full of favors. My personal favorite is the crispy basil chicken, crunchy, sweet, and so tasty! We enjoyed our meal with red and white wine at home. It was heavenly! We will definitely be back to try more of their other dishes.

Awesome little Thai food truck. Fast service and great for a meal after a night out. Conveniently located in a cluster of other food trucks. Far better then other comparable Thai places in Sellwood.

We tried the Chopped BBQ Fried Rice, and the smokiness from the BBQ seriously AMPED up all the flavors. Such a great twist on fried rice and so satisfying. The White Curry w/ Brisket Burnt-ends: WOWIE. So much flavor! The sweetness and smokiness from the brisket worked beautifully with the curry, and the meat was wonderfully tender. I also loved the cauliflower in the curry, it added a nice bite and texture that balanced everything out. The Massaman Curry w/ Smoked Lamb Shoulder was delicious, hearty, and PACKED with flavor!!! The lamb was incredibly tender, and the potato soaked up the curry so well. Such a comforting and flavorful dish. Overall, the food did not disappoint at all. Eem has such a unique concept, bringing together bold Thai flavors with Texas-style BBQ, and somehow it works SO well. Definitely a memorable meal and a spot I'd happily come back to!

After days of working my way through Portland's wildly overhyped Thai food, I had begun to wonder…read moreif the problem was me. Maybe Thai food was simply better in Los Angeles. Then I walked into Eem, sat down, took a few bites, and realized the problem was, in fact, everyone else. Eem is a Thai and Texas-style barbecue mash-up that sounds slightly unhinged on paper and makes absolute, beautiful sense once it hits your mouth. This is the kind of fusion that doesn't feel like a gimmick. It feels inevitable. I started with the Sweet & Sour Fried Chicken, one of their most popular dishes, and for good reason. Savory, beautifully fried, shatteringly crisp on the outside, juicy and tender within. Exactly what fried chicken should aspire to be. Then came the Wok-Fried Yu Choy. And dare I say it? The best vegetable dish I've ever had? Yes. I think I dare. Spectacular. Deep, smoky, savory, with enough personality to make you briefly question why you ever needed meat in the first place. But the Smoked Pork Krapow is where they really got me. Krapow is traditionally a dish built around seasoned ground beef, but Eem takes the idea somewhere else entirely, folding in pork belly burnt ends. It sounds like excess. It tastes like genius. Smoky, fatty, spicy, deeply aromatic. Completely blew me away. And then there's the room itself. Warm, colorful, playful, beautifully decorated without trying too hard. The service was just as good. Welcoming, attentive, confident, and Portland hospitable. They know exactly what they're doing. Eem didn't just redeem Portland Thai food for me. It reminded me why you venture out to eat in the first place: to discover something you didn't know you needed. So do yourself a favor. Go to Eem first. Before you start categorizing Portland restaurants as Thai or barbecue, before you begin comparing them to other Thai restaurants, before you get trapped in your own expectations. Just go. Because if "Keep Portland Weird" means anything anymore, surely it means putting Thai food and Texas barbecue together, making it work brilliantly, and serving it with a smirk. Thank you, Eem. You just gave me another very good reason to come back to this weird, wonderful town.

You can watch them frying the roti in front of you, they have a great flavor (they're a bit on the thick side), and the curry is absolutely sublime, with an incredible depth of spices without being hot. I also really enjoyed the freshness and textural blend of the "rice salad," with great cucumbers and herbs, although it was too spicy for my dining companions. I admit I didn't think the fried chicken was anything special--the chicken was moist (even the white meat), but the outside could have been crunchier. But I'm not the biggest expert in fried chicken, nor in pad thai, and both were certainly competent even if not as exceptional. Sticky rice was also cooked perfectly.

My meat-loving friends adore this place, so this review is solely for vegetarian food. 3 stars for…read moreveggie food, 4 stars on Yelp because I'm not interested in damaging a star rating, just sharing info for vegetarians. There is only one vegetarian item on the menu, the veggie curry. It's sort of an afterthought, throwing a bone for the vegetarians in the group. (Could they not make a vegetarian version of the Southern pad thai, just to be a pal?) The curry sauce is tasty, but the veggies were completely undercooked. Raw, tough, spongy pieces of underdone eggplant. It was like the person cooking it did not know what to do with a vegetable. The roti is tasty (I'm not familiar enough with Southern Thai to critique it). But if there's just one veggie item on the menu, and it's just vegetables in a curry sauce, I feel a restaurant should take pride in getting it right. Seating is a little tight, but somehow that adds to the atmosphere as you end up sharing a table with strangers, which is fun. Service is fast and food came out fast (too fast, in the case of those poor eggplants).
