An amazing place on Woodstock and I absolutely love it to death. This Thai spot has lunch and dinner hours, so make sure you check the hours before going. It's small and cozy, but there's plenty of seating inside for you to enjoy your food. You order at the counter and then sit down, and the service is always super quick and so so kind. I've been here a couple times now, and have always forgotten to write a review, so here I am! I love how they have options for a lunch size or a dinner size (when applicable), as the portions are perfect for each time of day, and you can save money! Also, while they offer your standard Thai restaurant dishes, they also have quite a few more unique dishes you don't typically see, like their crispy duck and salmon curries. Everything is so flavorful and beautifully plated. I went here a couple months ago to order food for an event, and the staff was extremely sweet and patient with my big order. As I said I was okay with waiting and told them to take their time, they gave me a Thai tea and chicken satay on the house. They were also so quick with their cooking while working around customers and I'm so thankful for how smoothly they handled such a big order. Dining with someone who doesn't eat soy..Thai food is the obvious choice. I called the restaurant and talked to a very helpful staff who told me the options that would work. I placed my order online (very easy) for pickup. I arrived on time and my order was ready. The restaurant was nicely decorated and inviting. I got home and started plating. The spring rolls were good, could have been fried a little longer for a deeper crisp. The shrimp fresh rolls were tasty and I liked the avocado wrapped in with it. We got a small shrimp wonton soup. SO good! The broth was mild but well flavored. The wontons and shrimp were both great, next time I'll get the large. The crab fried rice with no soy sauce was done well - enough crab. Pad See Ew with beef (no soy) was great. The beef was tender, noodle and veggies were spot on. The fried fresh ginger with chicken was pretty amazing. The veggies were crisp, the ginger packed a punch and the chicken done well. The pumpkin red curry was a highlight! Good spice but not overpowering, the pumpkin and veggies were great. There are parasol's hanging from the ceiling in all different colors. There's a TV screen that shows videos of people making art out of fruits and vegetables. Very clean and orderly. My understanding this is a family run business and I love that. We were provided nice new, clean menus they were laminated to start with and provided with waters. I ordered the pad Thai and the fresh shrimp rolls. The food came really fast. It was presented beautifully, and the peanut sauce with the shrimp rolls was perfect and not overly sweet. The pad Thai was garnished, beautifully and delicious with lots of fresh bean sprouts and chicken breast was used instead of chicken thigh. The peanut sauce gave the roll a nice dipping. I ordered the house special with angel hair instead of the wide noodle. I love peanut curry and this sauce had just the right amount of punch. I'd prefer it was a whole rainbow trout but it was not instead it was boring talpia fish. The salad itself was fresh and tasty. We also, ordered ground chicken, shrimp & basil. It was very good. I ordered a side of peanut sauce it can in a bowl probably 8 oz worth. We ate about half. I asked for it to go and when they brought the to go bag the bowl of peanut sauce turned into a small tiny side container maybe a tablespoon worth. Where did my peanut sauce go??!?! I ordered the Spicy Mango Delight with tofu, and my partner ordered the Sesame Roasted Duck Ped Yang (their signature dish) and a Thai iced tea. Each of our orders came out within 15 minutes. My partner noted that the Thai iced tea seemed to be supplemented with half and half instead of condensed milk, but it was really yummy! The portions of our dishes were sizable and very well plated. If you are looking for a good Thai Place to eat, look no more because this is definitely one of the better Thai restaurants around Portland. I have been to numerous Thai restaurants around Portland and have been to Thailand myself, so I am very picky with my Thai food. I can't say I was expecting much when my friend asked me to come here but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes I ate, and the service. By all means, the food here is not special or anything, but in terms of a good Thai place that provides you seriously good cooked Thai essentials like Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, and a Tom Kha, this is definitely a must try for anyone looking for Thai food. I will break down my review some more into 3 parts, food, pricing, and service. Food: I ordered the Pad Thai, Pad Kee Mao, Tom Kha soup, and got Thai tea as well. The Pad Thai pretty good although I wished it had more sauce. I also like my Pad Thai to be less dry, but overall the flavor was there and the portion was very good for a dinner plate. The Pad Kee Mao was the highlight of my dinner and was what really made me write this review. Everything from the flavoring, the cook, and the proportions between noodles, meat and veggies was just perfect. If you ever had the best drunken noodle in Thailand at Raan Jay Fai, this comes close and I would say was one of the best I have had. As for the Thai tea and the Tom kha, they were both good and I have nothing to complain about. Pricing: Main dishes ranges from 8 to 15 dollars for the most part. I thought the portions of the dishes were very fair to the price. Some Thai restaurants would give you a much smaller portion for around the same price or their dishes would have too much noodles and not enough veggies or meat. I though the dishes here were perfect and pricing was fair. Service: Normally I don't put too much weight on service when choosing a restaurant, but I have to say that the service at Bai Mint Thai was one of the best, mostly due to our server Nikki. I was surprised to see the negative yelp comments regarding the service and have to fully disagree with yelp comments discussing their bad service experiences. During my time at the restaurant, me and my girlfriend was met by Nikki who greeted us and made the experience feel like home. After talking to Nikki, I was informed that there were some management changes so I believe that the negative services experience had to be from the old management.
