Things Remembered is about to be a memory at this location in Valencia Mall. I know it has been here for years, but like most stores of its kind it is going away. I happened to be in the mall yesterday and stopped in, btw there are other stores in the mall going out of business or closing but most are women's clothing so I did not go into those. When I came into this location the signs of 50 to 70% off were everywhere and it appears they mean it. I picked up a robe (yes I guess they didn't just sell writing pens) that was originally $40.00 and the nice lady who helped me had me join their membership at no charge. Final cost on the robe after taxes was just over $13.00....such a deal but I guess the costs before they closed the location didn't support them staying in business. read more

I love Things Remembered because I love personal gifts. I love engraving and customizing my gifts or personal items. This store, like all Things Remembered, is beautiful with options both in-store and online. The area is nice and it's easy to get to. Unfortunately, this store always makes you feel like you want to leave. With all the personalization options all over the internet you'd think the staff would be more welcoming and helpful. I've been in this store and purchased items twice within the last month and both times they weren't helpful, told me no they couldn't do something and changed their answer when I questioned them on why. They have probably lost thousands of dollars in business with that type of attitude and general un-helpfulness. Comparatively speaking in price, they cost a bit more than places I've found online and if you plan ahead, skip this store altogether and get want you want without the attitude and hassle. read more

I am a customer too and i bought a cross pen, a water globe and a corkcicle bottle from the store with engravings for my mama. She loves them and thinks they are so fancy. It is best to shop here when it is a sale (BOGO or something) and i bought mine during the Buy One Get One 75% sale which saved me lots of money. read more

Needed to get a cup engraved, got here just as they opened, explained what I wanted - was told it can get done in one hour. Completed the necessary paperwork and paid they fee, the next clerk said it would be done in 2 hours. Still seemed acceptable considering the the holiday season. Came back in roughly two hours and was told it was going to be another 10 minutes... in that time received a call that the engraving machine scratched my cup but they had a replacement they can use but it will take an additional 15 minutes to complete. Came back after said 15min.. was greeted with a short "it's not ready, we'll text you when it's done".. so u left and waited gent text which I received about 5 minutes later.. understand if stress player a part but no need to be snippy with the customers read more

Will remember this for sure... Brought two hand made champagne flutes (toasting glasses for my wedding) to be engraved. Requested initials, a scroll and the date, in that order on 4 lines, all centered. My last initial which is the center most initial on the glass is a "v," so it, by nature, draws a very clear center point. The scroll also makes a "v" shape. So as you can imagine a v above a symmetrical v shaped scroll makes it obvious if both aren't visually centered. My Fiancé's glass was perfect, mine on the other had was not. The tip of the v was about an 1/8th of an inch left of the center of the v shaped scroll. Things Remembered's Assistant Manager's (Jasmine) solution was for me to buy another glass and they would redo the engraving for free. Or refund me 20% of the cost for engraving the second glass, which was about $3... She settled on her refunding me $16 and change for the error. I ended up with a set of $50 toasting glasses I can't use and $30 for engraving! So, $80 in the hole... Thanks for nothing! read more

I went in on December 12 and ordered 4 engraved wine glasses and an embroidered Christmas stocking. They told me the stocking had to be sent out but it would be done by Dec 20. I told them my Christmas would be celebrated early, so if I didn't get it by the 21st I didn't want it because my guests, for whom I was buying the stocking, would be gone. I checked again in a few days when I went back to get the glasses and they assured me the stocking would be done. I called on the 20th but they said the order had not been delivered. I called on the 21st and they said the same thing. I called on the 22nd, thinking I could give it to my guests before the got on the road. Nope. Now the story was that the commit date was not actually a commitment and the matter was out of the store's hands. I got an automated text message at 9:30 pm on December 23rd informing me that the package had arrived at the store. Too late for my holiday. I went in to the store and the clerk told me it was out of their hands. I am stuck paying $25 for something I don't want and can't use. I can't even re-gift it because it is personalized and the holiday is over. If the store had EVER been honest and said there was a chance it would not be ready I would not have purchased it. They assured me repeatedly there would not be a problem, and then when there was one they acted like it was quite normal and there was nothing they could do to make the customer happy. read more

I would give this store a no star if possible. Went in there to order my personalized christmas gifts, said will be ready in 5 business days. The assistant manager was rude and unprofessional. Very poor customer service! Came back after 8 business days, and they said my order wasn't even placed, but my credit card was charged! How horrible! Will never recommend this place! read more

I bought a $70 snowgllobe from this store and got it engraved. They used double sided tape to put the engraving on and it looked ridiculously cheap for how much money I spent on this gift. I had to take it apart myself and glue it on. The workers here seem to reAlly hate their job and have terrible customer service. They are lazy and did not help me at all and said I could not get a refund either even though they taped on the plaque and it looked nothing like the examples they showed me. I would not risk ever buying anything from here again. Also the engraving is so faint it is barely legible. read more

True to form with the other reviews... customer service sucks. Their items aren't cheap and neither is the engraving so you think they would be more customer friendly to make the sales instead they just tell you the prices and aren't willing to show you an example on the computer. A girl helped us in the beginning but the guy got involved when she felt she had to ask him to answer my question on possible designing. He said they had "too many orders to do" to show us -_- Really lame excuse, you're on Word type it up, takes one second. Engraving a dog's tags at a machine in Walmart is better than this place. read more

Walked in looking for an item that was Not available on their main website for almost 2 years and got lucky; they had the last one. Angie was great; she confirmed they had the item that I wanted to engrave. She gave me a form to complete and showed me samples on fonts. Angie even sent me a text sample before she completed the engraving to comfort my concerns of the long name and placing. Item came out better than expected and the customer service was excellent. Ok so my mother and I went in here looking for a gift for my grandparents 50th anniversary, when we found something that we liked we asked about engraving it and then they hand you a 3" binder filled with every font, design, etc... imaginable. I have a bad back so after standing up for about 10 minutes looking through this book it started to bother me so I tried sitting on the corner of this little table like thing, soon after I sat down one of the staff there told me I couldn't sit on it, she wasn't very polite about it, but it made sense so I got off and found a corner to sit it where my mom and I could keep looking through the book. About 2 minutes later another person comes out saying I'm not aloud to sit on the floor because it's a liability if a customer trips over me, mind you my mom and I were the only people in the store the 15 minutes we were there so I asked if they had a chair or something I could sit on because of my back and rudely said they couldn't do that. They should invest in a small table and chair for customers to look through all the designs but unfortunately they don't and after rudely being told to stand up by both employees while trying to purchase something from their store, and them giving me no alternatives I just left, because it wasn't worth having to be in physical pain to consider purchasing something from this store. I needed a last minute baby shower gift because a blanket I was making was not complete yet. Had to buy something personal not generic and this place was great. Theres a lot of bad reviews on their customer service, I did not really need there help in the store so I don't have anything to say besides they got my products engraved in a timely matter and seemed very professional when I picked it up. I ordered online same day as the party, got a text to pick early afternoon and the jewelry box and bracelet was perfect. The whole process was easy and the time it took them was fast. Mother to Be just loved the present! Will definitely do this again if I ever need another personalized gift. read more

I'm writing this review regarding a girl Amber. When we originally went there to get a glass engraved with a military and police badge on the glass with a picture we showed them Karen said they were able to do the engraving. So they told us to print the pictures and to come back so we came back to today Amber (who had an attitude and a tone) told us they weren't able to do the engraving when we already paid for everything. They need to do better with their training. read more

The sales associate that was on duty Donya was so helpful with me. She was very professional and very patient while assisting me. Crooked work! I should have checked Yelpers reviews before deciding to pay $16.95 for 7 letters engraved (brought in my own item.) The letters are barely etched and they are on an incline of about an 1/8 th of an inch. Very disappointed they ruined my christmas present. I'm going to another near by engraver today to see if they can fix the horrible job by adding some designs to mask the uneven lettering. read more

First off there was a manager training the staff and one girl helped us! There was a sign at the register that said 50% off I asked about it she assured me that that sale was over. I paid full price for home and online it was 50% off! The manager was very short with us and had an irritated tone! The new sales girls seemed sweet! I also paid 10 bucks so that I could get coupons and asked for proof and the manager told me in a couple weeks I would get an email! They didn't give me a reward card or number for the loyalty program I bought into! Horrible customer service and the works was not classy at all! They need new management read more

I'd give less than 1 star if possible. Came here looking for a simple, engraved charm bracelet. I experienced the WORST customer service, ever. The employee there was a very young guy who looked absolutely out of place. I asked questions and was taking this very seriously since its clear that place is not cheap, and his rude remarks and eye rolls after I asked my questions were UNBELIEVABLE. I was pissed off and had it with this idiot, so I said you know what forget it. And I walked out. I have never walked out of a business like that before. DO NOT shop at Things Remembered in Valencia!!! I Agree 100% with the previous review of 5/22/13. Amber is extremely RUDE and incompetent !! I purchased two items (one silver & one crystal). I requested that the silver item be engraved with the message for the male and the crystal for the female. Sure enough, when we looked at the finished product - they had swapped & engraved the wrong message on each item. Amber said I would have to "Repurchase" the items, but would get free engraving. ("Repurchase" the items for their mistake!) She said we approved & signed the Work Order - - the Work Order that Things Remembered will not release to the Customer when an order is placed (Red Flag). I double checked my spelling, but didn't know I needed to check their competency in placing a SKU sticker next to the correct message! Things Remembered is an absolute rip off ! You purchase 2 items for $20-25, but end up paying well over $150 w/engraving. They charge so much $$ and they have poor customer service! Don't be a victim of Things Remembered in Valencia. Instead, I highly recommend "personalilizationmall.com" - they have beautiful items, FREE engraving, and most importantly the best customer service!!! read more

As an old employee of the valencia store I can tell you that they rip you off, the manager chiek is the worst she is awlful to her teammates and makes everyone there uncomfortable. She over charges you when she rings you up and even if you are on a budget she will keep trying to get you to get more and that is not what should be done. I recently shopped at the Valencia Things remembered store. I accidentally misspelled a word on my frame. After emailing corporate they are going to fix my frame for me. Every time I shop here I get treated very kindly and always am happy with my items. I bought my flute glasses and cake server here and am very happy with the quality. I will NEVER shop at this store again!! My Husband and I went to this Valencia store to purchase a gift for our Niece's College graduation. We picked out a beautiful crystal vase and ordered for it to be engraved with her name, and her college name. We "properly" spelled EVERYTHING out for these people! We had to inconveniently come back another day to pick it up, because they were really busy! When we went to picked it up, we picked up our item at the store and left. When we got home and looked at our item, it was completely misspelled! We needed this gift for the following morning, so there was no time to take it back to the store! It was quite embarrassing to have to give a "college graduate" and item that was completely misspelled!! When I called and spoke to the manager "Amber" she was extremely RUDE and tried saying that it was "OUR fault" that her employees don't know how to spell and that she would have to charge us again for the vase!! I was so outraged at what this woman was telling me! This is NOT good customer service, and I will take my business else where! Gave this location a second chance last night, went in with the intention of getting an engraved wine glass for my mom. We walk in and there is no one offering any help to us, so we begin the work order ourselves. As we begin it this girl comes up and says "oh good you guys started let me check if we have any more wine glasses" she then walks away, glances at their shelf and says "nope. We are out." And instead of her suggesting another wine glass she looks at us shrugs and says "maybe a champagne flute will work." A champagne flute? I don't know about any of you but I don't drink my wine out of champagne flute, as we said "no we came for a wine glass" she looks at us and walks away to help another customer. At this point we already have our work order filled out so we approach someone up front for help but she was too busy to actually help us, by the time we go back to the work order we come to find out that the original girl threw out our work order because she assumed we didn't want anything. How rude is that?! At this point we are beyond frustrated but still continue looking around for another wine glass, we ended up finding one but wanted to ask if they have any in stock before we start another work order. We tried to approach the same girl that was helping us because she was the only one on the floor helping customers, she was simply avoiding us walking away from us and eventually ended up switching out with another person. So we are now trying to talk to him to ask him if they have any in stock, but he is walking in and out of the back room only talking to a coworker of his. Not even assisting the cisteomers. My husband placed an order for a picture frame with the word Grandparents on it because we could not find one anywhere the week before Christmas. After paying $20 for the over-priced plain silver frame and another $9 for engraving one word, we ended up with it done vertically. When I asked if they had asked my husband which way he wanted it engraved they said he didn't say as if it was his fault. First of all, they are the experts and should ask, second the default should be horizontal since that is the way the majority of photos are taken, plus it says GrandparentS which implies you are going to have to fit numerous people in the photo. They then proceeded to tell me that even if they wanted to they couldn't re-do it because their machine was broken the day before Christmas. No discount, no real apology, no oh, we should probably make it our policy to ask people which way they want their frame to go, nothing. For the price I paid, I am very disappointed and will not be shopping here again. read more

"Things remembered" great name really the name says it all... literally you will never forget the rude customer service and just overall horrible place. Not only expensive, poor quality cheap material I could just go on. My fiance bought me a really nice necklace I had only wore it 1 week and let me tell you after a atleast 2 days it was so scratched discolored. I wouldnt sleep or shower with it I just dont understand why it got so bad. So we went back to the store and told them what had been our problem with there cheap quality craftmanship and they didnt want to give us our money back. He had gotten engraved and because it was so scratched you couldnt even see the engraving after just 1 week of wear so we made a big fus and got our money back. They still didnt even want to give us our money back because it was engraved and let me just say he had even payed extra for engraving it deeper which was complete b.s. Definitley dont recomend this place ever !!!! read more
