This was my first time going to an escape room type place and I can tell you it was fun. I went with two veterans and our team of 3 did both "The Study" and "The Dollhouse". Both were well thought out with interesting layouts and an ambience each their own (I should mention the lobby itself has an ambience all its own as well). Our game master's name was Ross, he was fantastic, helpful, fun, and hilarious as well. You can buy adult beverages at the bar in the lobby area, there are also some games and a variety of kitschy things adorning the walls to give the a place a unique vibe and get you into that feeling that you've entered someplace new. For veteran escape roomers: The veteran escape roomers that've gone all over the world to do them did say this was definitely the best location in Broward, they appreciated the puzzles, the vibe, and the overall experience with our game master (Ross the Boss). I didn't think I would like escape rooms - I get too nervous, I overthink things, and I hate failing. My sister in law really loves escape rooms and invited my husband, who had a really great time. He, in turn, managed to convince me to try it out. On the outside, it seems pretty... blank? But the inside is super cool and interesting. With four rooms to choose from, we tried the Mayan ruins room and would definitely be back to try our wit (luck) with the other three. Our host (game master?) was really cool and helpful. Our family of four look for new and different escape rooms whenever we travel and Think Escape Games did not disappoint! If I could give them 10/10, I would but Yelp only lets us give up to 5 stars. Mack was an incredibly gracious and professional host and game master and that woman is a marvel to watch in action. She was the only one working and was able to manage multiple parties and give great customer service and super helpful clues. She definitely went above and beyond and she was a primary reason why we booked 3 rooms 3 days in a row! The lobby/bar area is really well and appropriately decorated, clean and they had two video games you could play without the need for quarters, dart board, artwork and plenty of seating, but we didn't wait long for our rooms to be set. The we did the following rooms: The Study, Mutant X and The Dollhouse. They were all a challenge but attainable, witty and charming and without giving much away, the production value was super high, the room mechanisms were truly thoughtful and smart and a great time was had by all. We ended up recommending this place to our cousins who live nearby and they have since gone as well and were equally impressed. Strongly recommend! Second time here. The first experience wasn't as good because one of the games wasn't working properly. They gave us extra time and points for "completing" the room, but we did kind of feel cheated since we didn't actually get out of the room. Originally, I probably would've rated this place as a 3/5 stars because of this. HOWEVER, they actually ended up removing this game, so we decided to try this location again. SO glad that we did. We had a 10pm game for Mayan Ruins and it was so much fun. The game was designed so well, and was just challenging enough for a beginner (we had one escape room newb with us) but also a fun room for experienced escapers as well. Writing these reviews are sometimes tricky because you don't want to give ANY clues away. But the decor and the themes for this game were unique and cool. Gamemaster gave hints that didn't completely give away how to solve the puzzle that you were working on, which I 100% appreciate. One thing to note: although I think on the website this game is listed as playable by 2 people, you definitely need at least three. Not sure about the other rooms though. The staff was nice and gave clear directions to our newbie friend. They are also knowledgeable and can answer any questions that you have. I would totally go back to do some of the other games, not sure about the Dollhouse one though because I don't do scary. But regardless of your experience level, this is a great place to go. read more

Not a fan. It was challenging and a disappointing experience for our first time doing something like this. Beginners should be provided at least some kind of readable cues. These rooms should be scaled with different difficulty levels and the option for "Easy, medium or hard." Great puzzles, good location, great customer service, but not sure everything was working properly. Long story short, it's a great escape room. Mtiple rooms, lots of fun puzzles. Challenging. Everything you could want. The only issue we had was either a key puzzle wasn't working, or the e.ployee wasn't paying attention to release the thing. It was a small bump in the road. As others have said, I don't want to give you much away. We did the study. The room and story were very well laid out and fun. There are some jump areas, which are great. The end was a bit anticlimactic compared to other rooms, but overall it was an above-average experience. Celebrated my daughters 12th birthday at Think Escape yesterday. We played "The Study". I can't say enough good things about Think Escape. The facility is well decorated, there are vintage arcade games in the lobby while you wait as well as a bar area with sodas, water, wine and beer. I booked a private game and had to change the date due to a work commitment. Greg was so accommodating and helped me with changing my dates without a fee. Upon arrival we were greeted by Flor, she was super friendly, informative and was willing to snap a few pictures of our group. Now to the actual escape room: challenging and so fun!!! Without giving details away, it was well decorated on theme with props and puzzles. Really made us come together as a group. My daughter and her friends had an absolute blast!! So much fun! There were 4 of us on a Saturday afternoon. The waiting room has all types of puzzles and even a Pac-Man arcade game to play while you are waiting. We signed the waiver, then watched a video that explained the rules. We chose The Study and we were busy the entire time finding clues and trying to match them to the puzzle or lock they were needed to solve to get to more clues. Flor was our game master and was very helpful. We were almost out after 60 minutes, and she graciously gave us an additional 5 as we were SO close and we managed to escape in that extra time. This is my 4th escape room and it was very well set up. Several very creative puzzle types kept our entire team engaged as everyone brings different puzzle solving abilities. My compliments to the designer of this room! It was challenging, for sure, and even at dinner later that night, we were still talking about who found what clue and how it was used. I would recommend at least 3 people for this room, as there is one puzzle which needs at least a team that size to successfully solve. A tip to puzzle solvers - there are some puzzles that when you solve them, trigger a spring load somewhere else. If you hear a "click" or something opens but you don't immediately see a next clue, just look around. Chances are it triggered something elsewhere in the room. Sometimes the music was just loud enough that you may miss hearing the click noise. In addition to a short orientation on where the bathrooms and emergency exits were before we entered the room, we had a small debrief with Flor when we were done, to review where we had challenges. There is a a tip jar, however there is no pressure to do so. There is also plenty of parking, but you may hit some traffic getting there, so plan accordingly and allow for extra time beyond what your gps may estimate. My only issue is the intercom system made it extremely difficult to make out what Flor was saying. There were times when I felt like Charlie Brown's teacher was speaking to us. Luckily, someone on our team was able to make out most of the words, but it usually took a couple of repeats to understand as the sound quality is not that great. Whether you have done an escape room before or not, I would recommend this room and our family is thinking of trying one more room at Think Escape before we head back home to Massachusetts. For anyone who has never done an escape room, or even if you have, I found a 12 minute youtube video called "Beat Any Escape Room - 10 proven tips and tricks" very useful. It does not give any spoilers, but it does provide an overview to the types of puzzles you may encounter as well as some team tips to make the most use of your time. This was incredibly fun for our group of 9! Challenging but 100% achievable! Difficulty (10/10): We did the Study and it was certainly a brain teaser forcing you to think outside the box! The "Game Master" (I forgot her name; probably was laughing at us the entire time!) gave us just enough of a hint (or too many) to keep moving forward each time! Staff (10/10): Super friendly and welcoming. She gave us 25 more minutes to solve our room, thank God if not I don't think we would've made it outside! She was lovely enough to take a picture of us at the end. Good photography skills! Location (8/10): Looked like sort of an abandon office location. Little creepy. But it was good once you open the door of their establishment and plenty of parking. Whether through GroupOn or directly from the company this place was the perfect activity for 9 adults trying to do an activity out of the ordinary. Definitely check them out! read more

You're locked in a room (or various rooms) with a group and you need to solve various clues in order to "escape". There is a time limit, usually 1 hour, to escape and if you get out in time you win. I won't give too many details as to not ruin the fun But we did the alien room. It was just three of us and we managed to escape in the allotted time. This was a really good room. My boyfriend asked to go to his first escape room experience for his birthday, so I took to Yelp to figure out where was best. Think Escape was the clear winner online, and let me tell you, as soon as we walked in the door we were totally in a trance! The staging and decor, the staff (especially Ross the Boss), and the ambiance were on point. The immediate question was, "why did you pick the hardest one?!" - which was a valid question given it was just two of us and it was his first time and my third! Lol! During the escape, Ross was sensitive to the fact that my honey was a competitive gamer dead set on choosing the hardest room with no experience. He carefully gave us clues to help us on our way, without stealing from the joy of figuring out big breaks. It should not be a surprise that we did not finish in an hour, but we were given more time on the clock and we kept rolling! Ross explained at the end of our experience that the business model is about satisfaction and fun! The passion and craft put into Think Escape Games is tangible from the time you walk in the door until you taste that sweet sweet victory of seemingly impossible escape. Even the waiting room is fun and cool, the staff is friendly and helpful, and, most importantly, the escape room we had was challenging but solvable. Of course we didn't break any records, made it out in barely enough time, but everyone had to contribute and we were talking about our experience all night. When we arrived there was a random private party at the front entrance which we felt that we intruded. There was a food buffet and a group of 10 people drinking and mingling. This made us think we were in the wrong place. We purchased the Mutant X game which is a new game rated 9/10 in terms of difficulty. Aesthetically, the game space was enticing but the excitement ends right after that. The game lacked methodology and the sequence of solving and unlocking was painfully scattered. There were times when we started to solve a puzzle or unlock parts of the game and we could not complete all parts because it continued onto a whole different machine or puzzle half way (senseless transitions) sometimes even in a different room of the game. The entire game was forcefully difficult beyond any type of enjoyment. Then in the middle of the game the attendant had to abruptly come out of the control room and "fix" one of the puzzles we solved because she said "sometimes it doesn't work". The staff was nice but very casual and out of character . They were not hosts, just general support staff. The experience was boring and definitely not worth almost $200.00. I would recommend finding an actual enjoyable well thought out game built on logic and strategy that you could enjoy with your family. None of us were impressed and we thought about leaving half way through. Way to ruin the vibes of a bday celebration! read more
