I've been coming here for several years. Great for smaller kids, even great for older kids. They have nice pins and fidget toys, since my son is older I'm usually looking for stocking stuffers. They had some fun blind boxes, I got the last one. It's a squirrel driving a tank that looks like an acorn. Teenage son thought it was as fun/silly as I did. I think that was only $3. I don't understand the ppl raging about prices. On several things I got this past Xmas their prices were the same as Amazon. I'd rather shop here than support Amazon. If you're not happy about their LGBTQ area, then don't go to that little area of the store. If it's not for you, then fine, just move on. I've never had any rude interactions with staff. They're always super friendly. This past Xmas their guy working even helped me looking thru the pins. Given the other reviewers comments about the LGBTQ stuff it makes me think these reviewers had an attitude themselves. read more

Charming toy store! I found this jem while visiting the Jamba Juice, a few doors down. The customer service was pretty great and their inventory was very eclectic. Hello kitty, unicorns, dress-up apparel, stuffed animals etc. The pricing is a bit on the higher side but I believe this store might be independent?! Not too happy with my first visit. I was not offered any type of assistance they had two discounted shelves and i grabbed about 3 items from one of them. Also some learning supplies for my son. I paid left. And thought wow that was pretty expensive for what i bought... NO discount on my receipts. Only like a 10$ difference, so i call.... and she informs me that she did forget to discount only ONE item. The other items on the shelf were not 50% off. And they were not misplaced because there was alot of them on the same shelf. I just get frustrated with false advertisement, no customer service, and when employees do not know the promotions. Now i have to drive back for 2$. But thats fine I wont. You guys can keep the money. I know its tough to have your own business, but please inform your staff FIRST IMPRESSIONS ARE EVERYTHING. read more

Lots of Usborne flap books (and other great selections), educational and fun board games, pretend play, costumes, dolls/stuffed animals, etc. staff was friendly and helpful, and their covid safety measures fully in place. I also loved their door signs about being an inclusive business, offering personal shopping for disabled patrons, and thank-yous for frontline workers. Thinker Toys has a very nice selection of thoughtful toys that stimulate imagination and creative play and even offer complimentary gift wrapping. I stop in when I'm in town visiting family to pick up toys for the kids. Frankly, it's a really cool store. My issue is the staff who were both indifferent and condescending when I asked questions. They made me feel unwelcome. In a small (and more expensive) boutique I was hoping for staff to assist me and make recommendations. Thinker Toys, you need to understand your best competitive advantage over Target (and Amazon) is your staff and their ability to direct me to the best product(s) for my needs. You're losing out on money by not having helpful and friendly sales staff. I am willing to come to your store and pay a little more if it means getting superior service. read more

I love unique toy stores. Toy store that have toys that encourage imagination, creative play, and foster learning. Unfortunately most of those type of toy stores are pricey. Thinker Toys is no exception to the expensive description. However I do love this toy store. When I am looking for a unique toy that I can't find at the regular stores where every generic toy is sold this is where I go. You won't find Disney Princesses, but you will find princesses. Melissa and Doug toys are a common sight here. There was even a pedal John Deere tractor and an entire section devoted to John Deere type toys. There is a well loved and played with train table that my younger daughter is always entertained by. My older daughter loves that she can get all kinds of art supplies and nature toys. Thinker Toys is not cheap, but their toys last. They don't have Disney, but they have beautiful fairies. If you are looking for an unique toy that will be cherished for a long time Thinker Toys is the place to go. read more

Went to Thinker toys last night at around 7:45pm and was promptly notified by staff that they close at 8pm. On prob that's 15 min to find a toddler gift, the gift was found and brought to the counter at 7:52 according to atomic time. The teen girl working there obviously had other places to be as she stated that she had no time to wrap the gift with her rushed attitude. Bottom line, if I am to pay inflated prices to shop small and local the retailer should take better care of the customer. I was back in the car at 7:55 pm... The counter person had the time to wrap the gift however she was lacking the drive to provide descent customer service. Why go back when I can get the same products elsewhere for 15-20% less without the bad attitude. read more

This is a wonderful toy store. It is within walking distance of our house, so my family goes there often to get birthday gifts, baby gifts and to splurge when my son has extra allowance. We like the blend of modern, educational and classic toys, and the staff is always VERY friendly. Plus, the manager does a great job of wrapping gifts. My wife and I would visit Thinker Toys every time we would go to Carmel. One day while loading up on toys for our son, we mentioned that we were from Morgan Hill, and were surprised to find out that a Thinker Toys was opening up in our home town. Awesome! Now we have one in our favorite town and our favorite getaway. Service is great! Friendly and helpful people. Lots of fun and unique toys to play with before you buy. I went in today to get a 1st birthday gift for my granddaughter. Both ladies working were very helpful. I found an adorable Melissa and Doug animal puzzle, and they wrapped it up for me beautifully. I when in to browse because I've never been there before and it was almost closing time I so had nine minutes to browse and the person that was working there Rudely kicked us out. for sure I would not go back there again. Love this toy store for the educational types of toys and love that they wrap the gifts! I do wish they had more gift wrap options. It's my go to store for birthday party gifts. I would also like to see more interactive toys setup so the kids could play while there, it's a major motivation to getting chores done, allowance earned, and toy's bought with one's own money. read more

This was what I experienced yesterday afternoon 03/02/2017. I stepped into your store yesterday in Morgan Hill at about 5:49. I was immediately told very harshly by Michelle "We close in 5 minutes." Me and the older gentleman (who was already in the store) looked at each other in shock. She was very rude in her tone and comment. I said, "Oh, I thought it said 7, Ok." She said, "well she changed the hours on us". My son and I (he's 2) walked away. I went to grab a learning book for my son. I was literally there for a book and maybe a toy for my son. She was making comments behind the desk "This is frustrating". I walked out and as I did I asked for her name. We left maybe 3 minutes after initially walking into the store without purchasing anything. I felt so unwelcome and as if we were not allowed to be there. As I left my son was starting to cry I explained to him. The lady was mean and we had to leave because she had a bad day and needed to go home. Now what I tell my son is my business. Yet, It was the truth she was mean and very harsh and rude and made us feel like we were burdens having even walked into the store. I Parked 3 stalls to right of the front door and as I'm placing my son in his car seat. Michelle comes out of the store and starts yelling "If you think I'm mean...... your just mad cause were closed." My son is crying at this point and I couldn't make out the rest of what she was saying. yet, the other gentleman and about 3 other customers 1 walking into Jamba Juice 1 going into togos and 1 passing by are looking at her like she had gone nuts, The older gentleman said, "she is crazy". The other gentleman said, "wow, that's horrible". I told her "you must be having a bad day and to walk back inside." All of us outside and the guy sitting in his car were looking at each other in shock. I am amazed at how she is even employable with the emotional outbursts she displayed. I will be certain as long as she is employed at your store I will never patronize your business. I own my own business and I would be ashamed if anyone ever did anything of what Michelle did yesterday to any of my customers. I have never experienced such horrific circumstances in any customer service situation I have ever had. We stepped in the store got yelled at and when I am speaking to my son. She comes outside to scream and yell at potential customers. Wow. shameful and disturbing. No wonder my mommy group warned me not to patronize your store. I disregarded their warning because I LOVE supporting small businesses. I hope you will speak with Michelle and properly train her on handling a rough day at work as well as, proper protocol for basic simple customer service. read more

This is a really neat store, reminds me of the Wooden Horse in Los Gatos. Great for quality toys and the ideal shop to let your little one go in and pick out a toy. My only complaint is that it can be a lot pricier (at least for some of the items that I've bought or searched for). Example, Melissa and Doug blocks at their store is $70 and only $50 at ToysRUS. I would much rather give my business to Thinker Toys, but at a $20 difference, that is a little steep. Still... go check it out... read more
