Tons of Garbage Pail Kids stuff!
    Kim C.

Absolutely LOVE this place. I was at Goodwill next door and found this gem by accident. As an 80s kid who refuses to let go, this place lit a fire in my retro soul. Lots of vintage toy stores seem to be geared more around boys toys but they had lots of vintage Barbies, My Little Pony, Raggedy Anne & Andy, plus lots of unisex toys! There are rows of well-organized items, some very unique things! As a huge MJ fan, I appreciated that they had some of his memorabilia. They had so many Garbage Pail Kids cards, too! I always have a hard time finding them but not here! I'm not a Stars Wars fan but I can say they had a huge selection. So many things here unlocked memories for me and had me feeling like a kid again. I had to go meet my family so my time was limited but I definitely plan to go back again soon! Definitely give this place a visit!

Juuuuust discovered this place because we were right next door at the Goodwill and we hadn't noticed it. Stepping inside will instantly transport you back in time to your childhood. I was a kid all through the late 70s and early 80s and this place brings back so much nostalgia, most notably old SciFi stuff - Star Wars and Star Trek. I had to pick up a couple TNG figures and I'll be back for more soon. My 13 year old also instantly fell in love with some Micro Machines from 1993 (he called them old...). Everything in the store is reasonably priced. We will be back for more things. Don't tell my wife.

I came here with my son during a recent rainy Saturday. I'm like the character from the 40 year old virgin and have a TON of old toys and collectibles I've been acquiring for the better part of 20 years. I wanted to just come to this place and trade to the store a few of my things. Upon coming in you can see there is a wide variety of toys here, form Pokémon, hot wheels, transformers, power rangers, old records, old comings...It's just like being teleported to the 80s/90s. I had a few transformers, and star trek collectables, he gave me a reasonable offer on trade or cash. It was fair and I accepted the offer. It's a small business being run by some very kind owners. They were very passionate about the hobby and I wish them all the best.

This place is a goldmine for very cool old school toys and collectibles as well as records and posters. What ever you do, don't blink or you will miss something. I walked around the store no less than 5 times and each time I saw something different (so cool) Hot Wheels, Godzilla, Troll dolls, Lost in space, Bruce Lee, Dean Martin and my little ponies (just to name a few) they have something for everyone here and at all different price points as well as great gift ideas for friends and families. The owner is also really nice, I shot bull with her for about 20 min.

I love this small little shop! It was kinda hard to find, so I ended up parking next door, but there is def. a lot of parking. The shop isn't too big or too small but they have a bunch of old classic toys! My dad came here cuz my son is in love with Godzilla and wanted to get him a toy. They sure have a bunch of Godzilla toys a long with old vintage toys. The man that ran this place is super helpful and great customer service. Some of the toys could be a little pricey compared to Amazon, but I am a firm believer of small mom and pop shop to keep them around. There's something different when you can actually pick up a toy, check it out and purchase it and bring it home that same day! My son always asks me to take him there to get more Godzilla toys. We will def. be back soon!

This is a portal to the best time in my life...quite possibly the best vintage toy store I have ever been to. They have rare gems and toys that take you back to your inner child and one cannot help, but bask in the great nostalgia that filled the days of youth. My mind feels at peace here. I found old school power rangers zords, beast wars transmetals deluxe, masked rider, and even Japanese excclusive action figures. Shoutout Joe for everything.

This places makes me wish I was 10 again. They have practically everything you could ever imagine. Star Wars. Star Trek. Comics. Kamen Ride. Vintage clowns. Pokemon. Horror Movie Figures. Wrestling Figures. Sailor Moon. It's a pretty neat and organized place. The owners are always there to make sure you're okay and to unlock the glass cases so you can get a better look at the toys. I would definitely come back if I had to buy a present for my Star Wars aficionado friends. Pro: ++ They got a TON of stuff. ++ Air conditioned & spacey! ++ Super nice owners. Cons: ++ Closed on Mondays, but it's honestly not a problem.

It has that nostalgic charm that makes you want to take your time and dig around for hidden gems. The worker inside was super friendly and welcoming, and I appreciated being able to browse at my own pace. Prices were fair, and the selection included everything from well-known classics to more obscure finds you don't see too often. The store is owned by The Record Man next door, which focuses more on vinyl records, so it's a nice combo if you're into all kinds of physical media. There's a small parking lot between the two shops which makes it convenient to check out both in one stop. I ended up finding a few cool items to add to my collection and will definitely come back whenever I'm in the area treasure hunting.

All records in here are just $5, which made buying here an absolute treat. I walked out with 4 LPs for the price of a lunch. The two gentlemen at the front desk were very friendly. They went in the back to look for Pet Shop Boys and Depeche Mode when I asked, and brought out CDs even though they did not have the vinyls. It turns out they are attached to the neighboring Record Man store, and they suggested I look there for LPs. I would definitely come back and highly recommend!

First off, I love the political signs posted on the windows, like the "everyone is welcome here except ICE". When I walked in, the store looked exactly like what I've always envisioned a cozy community bookstore to be like--filled to the brim with books and with a lot of character. I came here to sell some books and it was pretty quick--I had probably 20-25 books and the employee finished in less than 10 minutes. As I was waiting for my books, I walked around exploring. I was very impressed with the selection of fiction. There were actually quite a bit of new releases, but also older books and editions that I would likely not find at a corporate bookstore. If I had the time, I'd love to spend 1-2 hours here just browsing. I didn't expect to get much money for my books; I was actually going to donate them and didn't realize that they still buy books, so their offer was ok. I was moreso pleasantly surprised that the employee was so nice lol, and also a little chatty. Honestly the last time I sold books was probably 15-20+ years ago at Half Price Books and I remember they were always pretty rude/standoffish lol. In addition to the service, the atmosphere, and the book selection, the cherry on top for me was that they have a special shelf where you can buy a book there for 50% off for them to donate to the library at Elmwood Correctional Facility at a bit of a loss for the store. I used most of my credit from the books to get a Stephen King book for the library.

The Bad: The staff can occasionally come across as a bit unwelcoming, and I personally wish the storefront atmosphere stayed more focused on books and less on outside messaging. They sometimes price popular or trending used books higher than what you'd pay for a brand-new copy elsewhere. The Good: I absolutely love the character of this bookstore. Shelves packed floor to ceiling, creaky wooden floors, stacks of books everywhere, and even a cat roaming around the store it feels like something straight out of a fantasy novel. I've visited countless bookstores, and nothing beats the old vintage feel of this place. They have a great selection of beautiful leather-bound books, plus an excellent fantasy and sci-fi section. I especially love when they put books out in under $6! The prices at this location are better, and this store feels much more like a classic old bookstore. The Campbell location feels more like a modern bookstore, and the prices there can sometimes be higher. At the end of the day, this place is a San Jose landmark and everyone should visit it at least once. Even when I disagree with certain aspects of it, I still keep coming back because it's nostalgic.
