Tried again. As much as the wings cost nowadays, ya think you can add some freakin sauce! Medium was terrible and we added Franks Hot Sauce to get some some juice. They now skimp out on Carolina Gold. It took 45 minutes to get order for carry out with hardly any sauce.

    Ready for orders and food!

Solid bar style food... understand I wouldn't compare this to fine dining since that's not the style in the least, but if bar food (and good quality) is your desire this will have it. The booths near the bar at least had TVs if you want to have something to watch (we didn't - so not sure if you could have channel changed but I'd expect so). Service was fast both in server taking orders, getting drinks and delivery of food so too marks there. We all really enjoyed the quality and quantity of food - I really would have given 4.5 stars if I could have. Only negative (and this 'picking at straws') was that my son felt the hot wings could have used more heat, but that happens more often that not especially since he really likes heat. Good prices for happy hour drinks and decent variety for beers on tap too. Salad was huge, my rockfish sandwich was very filling, and no real negatives from kids on wings and Philly cheese steak. Great job! We plan to come back...

Your typical sports bar food, service, and atmosphere. They have great nightly specials, bar and lots of regulars.

Nice bar. Great friendly staff and service. We had a cheese steak sub and a plate of wings. This was our 1st time. Our food was okay.

Great wings. Almost as good as Buffalo. Almost. Could use a little more heat on the hot but I haven't tried the next level up.

I got the Chopped Brisket Salad. When the food finally got there, the salad had no brisket on it. Had to get the waiter to go get it. Flavors were all good, at least the brisket was tender. Everyone else's plate at our table looked good. This comes down to the execution. Very poor. Anyway, some days you nail it and some days you don't.

There are plenty of seating, indoor and outside. Service was nice and attentive, and the food came out quickly. Their menu had a lot of different offerings from burgers, to pizza, to entrees. FOOD: ~Sticky Ribs (4.5/5): actually fall off the bone tender! The sauce was tasty. Only thing was the ends were a little too burnt, but it wasn't inedible - gave that nice char taste. ~Italian Grinder (5/5): Typical italian sandwich, but the bread was so good. The roasted peppers added a nice kick, and the sauce was yummy. ~Fries (5/5): love battered fries! And they were seasoned really well ~Catfish and grits (4/5): the grits were wonderful consistency. Catfish was fried really well and was extremely tender. The sauce was so flavorful, but it was very heavy. At first I was worried about the huge chunks of celery, but thankfully, it didn't have that strong celery flavor and added a nice crunch. A really solid meal, especially for a golf course restaurant!

The butter was a major highlight. It was fresh, rich, and paired perfectly with my steak. Melted in my mouth, solid 8.8/10. 15 oz Seared Duck Breast paired with Au Poivre at the waitress' recommendation. An absolute fantastic choice, the portion was hearty and the duck was perfectly cooked. Extremely tender and moist, my husband loved it and I enjoyed it too even though I normally don't go for duck. He particularly enjoyed the fat cap. 8.65/10. Roasted Carrots with Cumin Honey & Toasted Pine Nuts. I feel like they were just starting to get the fundamentals right with this dish but ultimately missed the mark. The carrots themselves were delicious- well cooked, great ingredient sourcing. Seasoning left a lot to be desired. It would have benefited from at least double the cumin and some form of additional spice/depth- my pick would've been to add harissa & a pinch of sumac. They started out with all of the right elements, this just ended up falling flat. Still ate the entire thing- the toasted Pine Nuts were delicious 6/10. Steamed Broccoli, glazed with butter and parmesan cheese. Sourcing was again phenomenal on the veggies, the florets were very fresh. Slightly uneven steaming with some pieces much crunchier than others. Flavor was delicious. 7/10. Dessert: Classic Vanilla Creme Brulee with a beautiful little pistachio macaroon. This was surprisingly more flavorful than expected- on both the creme brulee & the macaroon. Given the subtler flavoring used at dinner, it was a pleasant surprise and I appreciated the commitment to the bit. Paired with their signature Vanilla Infused Espresso Martini which was perfectly balanced. 9/10. Not pictured: Caesar Salads- quite disappointing. Full length romaine lettuce that we then had to slice up ourselves. My lettuce was very wilted, husband's was slightly bitter. Maybe a bold take, but if I'm paying $14 for a salad, I shouldn't have to chop my own lettuce at the dinner table. Parmesan quality was good. 2/10. Ambiance: The restaurant itself was beautiful, decorations were a lovely nod to the 1870's decade including impressionist style paintings. Service: Staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. No complaints!

If I could I would have given it 4 1/2 stars, because it was good but not great but definitely well enough not to drop it to a 4. Let's start with the location: very nice and everything seems real clean and cared for. Even the men's room was decent at 6:00 pm at night. Now our server: Sidney was very attentive to us. She took very good care of us during our stay. Now the meal: Again it was good. The wifey had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo. She tells me the sauce had a nice flavor but the chicken really had no flavor. Certainly not a Blackened flavor you would expect. The chicken itself was good and tender. As for me I had Shrimp and Grits. It also was good. It had onions and peppers in it and again the flavor of the onions and peppers just want there. Who knows. We also had the Brick Oven Brie. There was a really nice amount of Brie. So much that the toasted bread ran out way before the Brie. So as I said this was a good place and meal despite my small hits in this review. I firmly recommend this place because I do expect you to have a nice meal. Ps. To the owners: your link to your website doesn't work via Yelp. To potential customers: you will have to go your search engine and find the Charred site.

I'm so relieved that none of those traits got left behind at the old location! There's usually a wait, but they now offer outside tables for waiting or dining. So that's a plus. And it's worth the wait. There's a new bar, so one can sit there and enjoy a drink or a meal. That's nice. There's a new (I don't know what to call it) "dessert deli"? Where all the cakes and pastries are on display and for sale. So that trapped us on our way out. :-) And there's a dedicated door for take-out only, so if you order ahead you don't need to swim upstream of the other waiting diners to get in and grab your food, Here's something really innovative: Their parking lot is on the small side. But they are adjacent to acres of parking in the shopping center. So they run a golf cart in a loop, picking up and dropping off diners who park in the satellite lot. Wow! That's service. The restaurant business is tough. And endless number of ways to fail. But the Brick House Diner is doing everything right! PS: In a time when restaurant prices seem to be out of control, BHD is doing a great job keeping prices as low as they can. For the meal I had, I've paid 10 to 25% more at other, similar venues. So, hats off to BHD for cost control!
