This market is based in a gas station. It has the most incredible selection of beer, wine and spirits that you'll ever see. There's bottles from the ground to the ceiling. It's incredible and along with that it has one of the best kitchens around. Great selection from breakfast burritos , hot and cold deli sandwiches to tamales and tacos . Oh and their gas prices are reasonable and you can get your car washed at the same time. read more

In order fully to appreciate this review, it is necessary for you to suspend your disbelief. This review has nothing to do with unknowable facts or unobserved reality; rather, it is concerned with people making the best choices with the (admittedly limited) information they had at the time. If you were about to take a drink of yellow Gatorade, and someone you trusted told you not to drink the yellow Gatorade, because it was horse urine, you would be a fool to drink the yellow Gatorade. Even if it turned out that the yellow Gatorade was yellow Gatorade and not horse urine. Why? Because you took an unnecessary risk and went against the only information you had at the time. On with the review. I had stopped here for gas on a few occasions on my way back from SoCal to San Francisco. At the time, about 75 percent of my cross-state trips were on the 5, so my 101 gas-station knowledge was limited and ever-changing--mainly due to all the gas stations in King City playing musical chairs with their branding. At the time, I hadn't yet discovered San Paso Truck Stop, so I thought this was my last freeway-easy opportunity to get gas for a while, and I knew how to get here from the freeway and how to get back onto the freeway from here. In other words, this place, though high-priced, was a decent stop, a solid three stars. All of this ended in January 2021, when I was driving back from COVID bubbling with my parents for the fall and holidays of 2020 to a desolate San Francisco. Remember that time? In California? The COVID rate was way up from the holiday season; vaccines weren't available yet; I had recently found out that one of my mom's former colleagues had died of COVID, and the mother of a friend of mine was in the hospital with COVID. Amid all this, I needed gas, and I needed to use the bathroom. Third Base was where I stopped. I pumped my gas, and when I was about to walk into the store, a man without a mask walked out and proceeded to have a coughing fit right as he passed me. I was annoyed that he was unmasked and at his rudeness for not even covering his mouth or turning away as I passed by. When I entered the store, an employee was right next to the door. He wasn't wearing a mask either, and he was rubbing his upper lip. (Again, this is at the height of California's big post-holidays outbreak.) He smiled widely at me and asked if I needed anything. I told him I just needed to use the restroom, and he walked toward me. I told him to stop, and he did. I told him I was uncomfortable that he wasn't wearing a mask (I was more concerned that he was rubbing his face right beneath his nostrils) and that I just needed to know where the bathroom was. He fast-walked past me and arrived right at the bathroom door, and he opened it and held it open for me. I told him I really didn't want to be that close to him, but he insisted that he wasn't sick and that I would be fine. Still very annoyed, I rushed past him into the bathroom. When I left, he was chatting it up with another customer (also not wearing a mask) at the cash register. Eventually, I would find out that Paso Robles was one of those COVID-restriction holdouts, where anti-mask and anti-gathering-restrictions sentiment were very high. So what happened? Nothing. I wouldn't get COVID until December 2022, and I was still masking more or less all the time by that point, although I was otherwise living my life pretty normally. With what I know now, my experience at Third Base wasn't particularly dangerous, but based on what we knew (or thought we knew) at the time, this place was putting its customers' and its employees' health at risk by not following state (and I assume county) mask mandates. I was also uniquely perturbed by how far the employee seemed to go out of his way to make me feel uncomfortable. My regular northbound gas stop has changed twice since my last visit here, and no matter how gourmet their sandwiches or vast their wine selection, I won't ever step foot inside here again. What if they decide to question the food-handling regulations? There is a hepatitis A outbreak in L.A. right now, and we all know how hep A is spread. read more

Breakfast burritos aren't worth it and are over priced. They changed their kitchen staff and not for the better. I ordered a bacon breakfast burrito one piece of bacon hardly any eggs it was mostly hash browns. Today I gave them a 2nd chance and ordered a tri-tip breakfast burrito hardly any tri-tip, eggs this time but no carmelized onions and bell peppers or savory veggies or cream cheese. Holy smokes I found this place by randomly doing a liquor store search on Yelp and boy am I glad I did! Drove up from Corona and we were starving. They have tablets you order on and then you pay at the gas side. I ordered the Paso Wrap and my bf got the Pastrami on Dutch crunch. Our food was ready quickly within maybe 5 minutes. I bit into my Wrap and it was the most tender and flavourful meat, thinly shaved. The Pastrami was just as amazing. Such quality food. Don't be alarmed it's at a gas station. read more

I was looking for something quick to go lunch and decided to give this place a try since it had decent reviews. I was underwhelmed. It started off promising but was disgusted at the end. Limited parking given it is a gas station spot. Reading the menu it gave me Ike's sandwiches vibes so I was excited. Ordering was quick and easy on the tablet then you pay at the register and wait for your number to be called. I got the tri-tip sandwich and onion rings. They also sell potato wedges, chicken strips, burritos, corn dogs and such. TRI-TIP: it was alright at the beginning then towards the end of the bread, the bread became chewy? It was odd. Then, when I was finishing up half of the sandwich there was something at the tip of my tongue that I kept chewing on and would just not go down. I pulled it out of my mouth and it looked like a lint at first but when I spread it out of the napkin it was not lint (see picture) I still have no idea what it is but I am disgusted. My friend got the Paso Wrap and he said the tri-tip in his tasted weird. I tasted a piece and it tasted sour! He ended up not finishing his either. ONION RINGS: even when it was freshly fried it was still soggy. Overall, I would say try at your own risk? Lol. It is a gas station deli after all (I know not all are bad). Maybe it's an off day today? Who knows. As for me, I will not be returning to buy at the deli and would not recommend from my experience. This Mega Mini mart that's also a deli and liquor stop is a fantastic stop should you need anything for the road and more. We stopped in to gas up our 15 passenger rental van and the group wanted to pick up some water, snacks, beverages, water, ionized water, and other items. We assumed that we'd have to swing by CVS shortly after third base. WRONG! They had all the 'extras' we needed here. The liquor selection was just as dangerous as my favorite store back at home = I want to buy bottles I don't necessarily need, but want. I showed restraint, but barely. The cashier behind the counter was super friendly and was helping everyone find what they needed in this hyper stocked mini mart. We stopped in late in the evening otherwise I would have been down to check out the deli grindage I saw in the Yelp pics. They have great food, an awesome array of beer and liquor but they just tried to rip me off. They advertised a cash price of 4.19 but the pump said 4.29. I went in to ask about it and was told I have to push the button and the proper amount would show up. Which didn't work. I went in again to cancel and instead of looking out the window to look at the very large signs advertising the cash price, the alpha, nepo baby in charge questioned the size of my brain. It's a pity because my kids school is around the corner and I used to stop there twice a day for gas and snacks. Gas is already too expensive in CA and I can't / won't trust this place with my money ever again. I'll be using my tiny brain to contact the state Weights and Measures department and I believe the county has local inspectors that manage labels and false advertising. I went to this station earlier this week and was very put off by the horrible customer service and negligence. I was filling up at one of the pumps, this particular pump was very slow. I almost went to another but it was shortly after 5 and there were many people there. When the nozzle trigger jumped indicating the tank was full, I pulled out the nozzle from the tank and a large amount of gas spewed out. The faulty nozzle did not properly vent the trapped air from the tank, gas pressured up and spewed out. I spoke to someone who was presented to me as the manager. I asked for a refund on the amount of gas that spilled out due to the faulty nozzle vent. The "manager" without even looking at the nozzle immediately said there is "nothing wrong with the pump" but that there is a problem with my car... it was a complete denial and a confrontational response as I was repeatedly told that same line. I was told the the gas on the ground was "not even worth 10 cents." See attached photo. The next morning I called and spoke with one of the owners. Before I even finished telling him what happened he informed me that he had no manager and they will not refund me because the hoses and nozzles are inspected every 3 months. I don't think a refund or credit for the spilt gas was too much to ask for considering the gas spilled onto my work pants, work shoes, and is now in my car from all of the gas that was on my shoes. I will no longer be returning to this station for gas. read more

I saw the great reviews and was stoked to get a bomb burrito but as soon as I arrived, I quickly saw that most employees were not wearing masks and made no effort to put their mask on when a customer was near by. Even the staff handling the food were not wearing masks. The one expedition was the food cashier, thank you to her!! Additionally, they did not enforce customers to wear masks. I think this is one of the best gas stations / mini marts around. I mean where else can you get 101 octane gas at the pump! Yes, that's a bit pricey but it's racing fuel. Overall, the gas prices are good, the deli is good. They have a great selection of snacks and drinks. And, the alcohol selection is top notch. They have such a diverse selection to choose from. The staff is friendly and I think that always helps. It's always a positive experience there. read more

Amazing amazing selection of booze. I only came here becuase they had a bottle of Henry McKenna 10 that I wanted and couldn't find anywhere else. I was so blown away by the selection and quality of whiskey and bourbon here I can't wait to come back to find something new and exciting. Their advertising is completely deceptive. I saw a good price on a bottle of bourbon online, went to the store to pick it up, and it was $12 more on the shelf. When I asked the store clerk about it, he gave some lame excuse about their online prices being different from their store prices. Really? Why is that? I went home and tried to order the bottle online, but there was something like a $20 shipping fee! So no matter what you do, you're never going to get the price they advertise online. Awful experience. Was sent to the Paso Robles store to pick up a few bottles of weller that were in stock on the website because I was told that's where their supply was. After driving from 5cities I was able to purchase 3 of the 6. After paying I was looking at my receipt and noticed a rather large price discrepancy from what I was charged and the website price. I called the Paso store to inquire about this and the clerk Edson let me know a manager would reach out to me. A few minutes later I got the call. I the gentleman informed me "That's the price" "if I don't like it don't buy it next time" and don't forget "don't bother my employees" even though it's a posted number from their Google ad. He said he was 1 of 3 owners but refused to give me his name and I would get the same answer from the other two. To say he was rude would be an understatement. Being a local businessman owner I'll just say I'm surprised how he conducts business. We refill our personal and work vehicles here exclusively along with other sprit purchases. That being said I will refrain from future business with Third base liquor in the future. If it wasn't for the rudeness I would have still been disappointed but would of also understood. read more

I want to come back here and go on a shopping spree so I can stock my bar up with amazing liquor, beer, and cider. I was amazed at the selection they managed to cram into such a small space. Obviously the owner/manager has an appreciation for that stuff, as it was all good looking. I also sampled the end-of-day packaged deli items and everything was top notch.
