First time here and went for Sunday brunch ,cute with indoor and outdoor dinning, I recommend making calling to make reservations, hostesses very welcoming and pleasant along with the waiter staff, knowledgeable in the menu and ingredients. Everything was prepared fresh and tasteful. Had a chance to talk to the chef and was impressed with his menu and new up coming specials. Smoked prime rib , the smoked ribs I had tried today were perfect with a great smoke taste, and some other new ideas, don't want to let the cat out of the bag. From what I understood the lobster nachos and lobster roll is only served between 2 and 6 pm at the Lizard lounge as finger foods while enjoying cocktails after a day at the beach. 3rd Street Cafe called my name because they had a lobster roll on their menu. Oddly enough, the waitress convinced me on the lobster nachos. There was also a picture on yelp with nice good pieces of lobster on the nacho's. Unfortunately, that was not the case. They were tiny itty bitty pieces, like teeny tiny. I was pretty turned off by it, but the management was nice enough to take my nachos back, and brought me back the lobster roll. It was pretty good, I must say. My hubby got a burger and he greatly enjoyed it. All in all, it was a good spot. They have a super cute outside patio as well that is dog friendly. They also have a happy hour as well too. The 3rd street cafe was a massive let down. Everything in Boca Grande is on the pricey side but this place was just a waste of money. Some of the items we ordered tasted like they were store bought. I would be VERY surprised if they were house made. My meal was cold, like it had been sitting for a long while. My dinner companion's meal was not how it was described on the menu and just awful. The wait staff and the woman who appeared to be the manager, looked like they were struggling to keep up when it was not busy. Such a cute spot with good food. It was a beautiful night so we sat outside. We loved the atmosphere with the twinkling lights. I had the grouper - blackened. It was awesome. I would highly recommend it. The service was very slow, but we were relaxed and didn't complain. Even so, the manager recognized the slow service and offered us dessert on the house. I had one meal to enjoy today in Boca Grande and this place really let me down. We entered through the back area, across the patio area. There was one occupied table on the patio and another one inside. So, it wasn't busy at all. Yet it took about 15 minutes to order and receive our drinks... that set the scene for the rest of experience. The fact that it was about an hour before we received our food and three in our party only ordered side salads, was enough to complain about. But considering our party was made up of 6 people, I didn't complain. I ordered the lobster roll and fries as my side. First off... the fries are what I would call shoestring fries, not the waffle fries as pictured in several pictures featured on Yelp. Normally a like thin fries, but not when they are cold. I've not had many lobster rolls in my days, but this one was the worst. The three that ordered the side salads all complained that they were plain and weren't worth near the $9 price tag. One person in my party ordered a BLT and stated that the bacon was very crispy. So, if crispy bacon is your thing, you might like it... read more

Mimi did an exceptional job with her staff for a surprise birthday party. The food was perfect as was the setting. This is a temporary fix for the South Beach Restaurant that was destroyed by hurricane Ian in September 2022 and should be back in operation by December of 2023. We went for breakfast because of the great reviews. While we thought it was OK, it definitely wasn't what I'd expect for a 4-star experience. When we arrived at around 10:30 there was plenty of seating outside so we grabbed a table. Service was the high point of the experience and our server came over immediately to offer us drinks. We ordered coffee, the corned beef hash, and the avocado toast. Coffee arrived quickly and the food a short while later--overall the service was very good. Food, on the other hand, was blah. The corned beef hash looked good but had almost no flavor. Even salting it brought out little else. The avocado toast was a bit of a literal extreme: toast with some sliced avocado and a few pieces of bacon on it. What's the point? I've had some great avocado toast preparations, and most involve a mashed avocodo preparation (like guacamole, but with different seasonings) atop thick-cut, amazing bread with eggs or other protein on top. This wasn't like that at all: just toast with sliced avocado. I could have done that at home! Even the coffee was weak. I'm giving this place 3 stars because the food quality was very good and the service was excellent, but the food really needs some attention. read more

In this restaurant I enjoyed so much the superlative Linguine with clams. It is not easy to find a place in the United States where seafood cuisine remains simple and genuine without the addition of sauces and strange condiments. At the 3rd Street Bistro the Linguine were fantastic, the tastes were well balanced and the seasoning was abundant. As soon as I finished the course I went to compliment the cook (with a bit of a bewilderment from our waiter) and I simply told him that I hadn't tasted such exquisite linguine for years. My strip steak ($45) was a 1/8 inch thick, supposedly 14oz, flat steak . Decent flavor but I've never seen a strip steak so thin ... ordered medium rare and it was medium . My wife had the ravioli and loved it . Friends had the fish special and said it was okay. Other friend had the fried seafood dish and said it was okay So... may go again to try something different but was not impressed with this cute little eatery .. pretty expensive for what you get but that may be because it's on Boca grande Thank you for your reply ... we will try another evening and see how it goes.. appreciate your feedback read more

Excellent breakfast spot! Our first time here and both my and my wife's breakfasts were delicious and priced in line with other restaurants. Next time I'll skip the OJ, which was low grade. Coffee was very good. Albeit a bit shorthanded, our server brought our breakfast quickly. The restaurant was comfortable, but some piped in music would have been nice. Had a delicious dinner at 3rd Street Cafe. This was my first time there and their menu is different than others in the area (less focus on seafood). Beet/Goat Cheese salad was almost life changing. It was DELICIOUS. Crab cake - extremely flavorful, lots of great lump grab meat. Very tasty! Service was friendly but a little awkward to be honest. Not as polished as some of the other restaurants in the area (even though prices are comparable). It does have a more "charming" vs fancy feel. I definitely want to come back and try breakfast! read more

3rd street cafe was a huge disappointment last night! My husband and I have been to this cafe many times when visiting BG. We made reservations well in advance knowing this is a busy season. Arrived on time to be seated in the garden/patio area. The hostess pointed to the only table for two, which was literally on the sidewalk leading to her station. We requested another table but we're told that was all she had for 2. There were however 2tables for 4 empty. Right after we were seated, 2 separate couples were seated at these tables. My husband was bumped in the head several times by patrons gathering and waiting for tables. oh by the way, after 1 &1/2 hours , we saw no food but a piece of bread! Some staff members grumbled about the backlog in the kitchen! At 9 pm we left with no food, very dissatisfied! read more

A bit pricey, and the service was very forgetful, but she always apologized and gave me my smoothie with a to-go cup because I got it so late and gave my dad free extra toast because he got it so late. I got the omelet with goats cheese, spinach, and tomato which was really good, but the goats cheese could have been more spread out--I know it's difficult to do from experience but I'm paying for this! The bread was really good as well, which is a good complement because good bread is hard to find. They have homemade jam that they put on the table for the toast which was fantastic. My dad tried to buy some but they only make it in jars when 'the season' starts. I got a smoothie with homemade lemonade, pineapple, and grapes which was delicious as well. read more

Forgettable. Strip steak tasted like cardboard. Himalayan sea salt which was talked up prior to the meal was non existent. Duck parpadelle tasted like two separate ingredients. Nothing jelled, from our waiter Shelby who was exceedingly slow to the hostess who complained about her servers adding people to the reservation list without her knowing. Just bad all around. Did I mention that they didn't have a majority of their meat dishes which explains the strip steak tasting like 4 day old cardboard steak. No meatball appetizer or filet entree either, should have been a huge red flag not to order beef. I can only imagine how old the duck was they used for the pasta dish. Went there for lunch. The food was delicious, but the service was slower than molasses. It took 25 minutes of waiting to get water. 20 more minutes later 2 out of 4 lunches arrived and the portions were ridiculously small. We took turns watching each other eat.
