    "Modern Dad" where's the cranberry??

Be sure to check your drinks before driving away. We ordered a "Modern Dad" which is Fresca and Cranberry and there is no cranberry in this drink. It's extremely frustrating when you're paying for a "specialty" drink and they leave out the one other ingredient that's supposed to be in there. I could've gone to Maverik and paid a fraction of the cost for a normal Fresca.

I'm reviewing the only thing I got here and it was pretty dang good. We were gifted the beignets and although they were a bit more fluffy than dense, they still had a great taste and delicious dipping sauces to go with them. And bonus: they were warm! I'd definitely come back for these!

First time I've ever visited a Thirst, and I was so impressed! Opening night was packed. The owner is extremely kind, and you can tell he cares about his employees. Everyone was happy and welcoming. The popcorn was hot and fresh, and I was able to try both the pretzel cup and a beignet tray. They're delicious! The quality is fantastic, and the drinks were refreshing! I got the Johnny & June and it has an amazing flavor. The names of the drinks made me smile, and despite Sprite being a favorite, Johnny & June Cash are icons for me and have been since childhood. I love how cute the signage was inside the tunnel, and I overall had a great experience! I even won 2 free drink cards by guessing an artist to a song! I can't wait to return! Thank you Thirst Drinks!

Excellent drinks, yummy snacks! The best pretzel bites outside your Aunt's, and just as friendly!

I will say that the workers here are very friendly and do a great job! But the food and drinks are not very good. I got one of the water-based drinks with mixed berries (Spa Water) and it had hardly any flavor. The berries were frozen in ice cubes, so they didn't add any sort of flavoring to it. I order similar water-based drinks at places like FiiZ and they do a great job! I also had the pretzel bites and beignets, both of which were fine, but I don't think any of these are worth the price. The best thing that I had was the free popcorn that they give with every order.

Thirst is my favorite of the soda shops. They have by far the best snacks. The pretzel bites are to die for!

Thirst is becoming my go-to over all the other soda shops. Pretzel twists and beignets are top tier!

Beignets that would rival new Orleans beignets. So good. Pretzel dogs are good. Friendly staff. Great place.

I love thé snacks at Thirst, especially their beignets, but the drinks lack flavor compared to competitors.

After about 6 hours of non-stop rides and waiting, we decided to get off the walk and grab a bite to eat. Due to more extreme rides planned for the rest of the day; we opted for sharing a plate and not indulging in much more. The Pork Carnitas Nachos honestly were a good 10/10 for me because I was starving. Friend said more a 8/10 for them. The service here sucks! Unless it's the teenager where you pick up your order up from; forget it otherwise. You order at the counter. They give you a buzzer thing that will buzz after your order is ready to pickup from their window. Seat yourself if you can find any room. They also do have an outside patio area which is nice but unfortunately it was all packed. At the counter when you order everything for your party, you get your beverages. The cashier (I'm thinking she was either German or European ... which actually would have been lovely had she actually cared to be there). No manners. Very rude even. I didn't understand the "buzzer" system and in my party there was one Coke and one Diet Coke. Now, which one is which b/c she just shoved them towards us. I wouldn't have cared but my friend might have. Anyways, what ever happened to pushing the one little button on the plastic lid like we did back in the 80s-90s. Nevermind.. I'm getting old;+) So we found a table for two right by the bar with two little barstools. We had absolutely no issues with waiting (fyi, it was about 20 minutes). Engrossed in conversation, I feel something crawling underneath my feet. My friend did too. "WTF? Are there mice in here"? Nope, just an angry old lady sweeping underneath our feet (BTW, we hadn't received our order yet at 20 minutes) and I guess she thought we sat there for too long just drinking and not eating. FFS - When the nachos eventually were ready, the young 15 year old or so was friendly and gracious at the pick up window. If you want utensils here though, you have to ask the pick up window. When I asked for a fork they were plastic and ungloved bare-hand handed it to me with the actual fork in between his fingers. Plenty of napkin dispensers but not very hygienic if you want utensils. Side note- Whether you just go to the restaurant on it's own or are enjoying Lagoon Amusement Park, there is a bathroom located inside the restaurant that is actually clean (unlike all the restrooms circulated throughout the park). Store is clean but customer service and employees need big time customer service training! I'm giving this review a straight 4 for decent food and an amazing day. Sadly the restaurant itself is only worthy of a 3.

The patio was beautiful and such a great place to relax. The stream running past is so pretty and peaceful. Service was friendly and attentive without being over the top. The ambiance was very nice with the lush green trees. We started off sharing the crab cakes, which were the best part of the meal. When a place respects crab and doesn't add a bunch of unnecessary ingredients and flavors they get a solid thumbs up from me. The Aperol spritz was pretty weird and didn't have much of a flavor, it felt muddled to me. But Hazification is a pretty solid pale ale if you like a lighter fruity profile. The canyon pizza was a gamble and not a good one. The flavors didn't really complement each other at all and dried cherries added onto a pizza after cooking is just weird. I tried it only because we were somewhere different and if it was on the menu someone had to like it... I don't know. I'm wondering how big the pool was that the survey on this one went out to. The scallops however were nicely cooked and the blackberry beurre blanc was perfectly balanced. More proof that they do respect seafood. This was a pretty delicious dish. We mainly forgot that the cauliflower wasn't even potatoes and the bok choy also was even perfectly crisp but tender. The whole plate was watery though. The scallops get a 7/10 and the crab cakes an 8/10. We just couldn't quite justify the price point for not being blown away by anything or for that pizza. Would try other things here but will probably steer clear of being adventurous again.

We visited at least two, during our four days in SLC. This one was the first: a cathedral-style brewpub with a sports bar aesthetic, with decent food, decent drinks, decent service, and decent prices. Everything was decent. You're not likely to be disappointed by anything you order, but you're not likely to be blown away by anything, either (another thing Squatters has in common with McMenamins, I'd say). During our second visit (to another location, but I'm sure the same rule applies), our party was only interested in ordering drinks (one per person, mind you), but we were informed that we *had* to order some sort of food to accompany them (I'm sure this is more of a Utah thing, rather than a Squatter's thing, but still annoying), so bear that in mind if you're looking for a place to just chill with a beverage and watch a game. Still, the vibe here is lively and friendly; assuming your server is as well, which was a coin flip, in our experience. For a fast, casual chain of brewpubs, Squatters has a lot going for it, and I can see why they are popular, as clearly as I can see ways in which they can improve. A little more focus, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence, and Squatters could absolutely dominate in SLC, and beyond.
