I love Swig drinks - I always order the dr pepper (Dirty Little Secret) but here's the disappointment: I ordered a 16 oz. , It was filled with the chunky ice. When I got home I took out all the ice cubes and measured what was actually the drink - a little over 1/2 cup! This location is drive thru only, and when we got there it was PACKED, but it went super fast. They definitely have a system going like Chick-Fil-A and In-N-Out, which makes it efficient! I love Swig. Every other location I never seem to have issues. But I have never had a single experience at this location without there being an issue of some sort. I have been given someone else's drink probably 2 or 3 times here. It's slower than every other location I've been to. They are always out of something, whether it's normal straws, cookies, limes, it's always something. Thirst up the road never has a line and they don't mess up every drink, and the Sugarhouse swig seems to have no issues either. I'll just keep going to those I guess. read more

This Swig location is really hit and miss. Sometimes, the line moves fast, your drink is correct, and the treats are tasty. But they are often out of key ingredients (did you know that it's possible to run out of Diet Coke?) and sometimes you just sit waiting for someone to take your order. Get here before the line (but line management is decently set up) and theres someone with a phone who takes your order in the snaking line. The options online were more vast then what you see on the menu but I think they can still offer all the options you see online. They were quick on the orders which was good. I enjoyed the Dr. Pepper with coconut and cream which was good and not horribly sweet but I think they put too much ice so you didn't get a ton of soda. I may or may not have been obsessed with reading Mormon/LDS blogs at some point in the past 10 years. Let's just say...I was. So many of those bloggers were Utahns and a few were always talking about soda shops. One of those soda shops was Swig! When my California family and I decided on a quick trip to Utah in late March or 2022, I knew I had to come to the famous Swig! For the record: I LOVE sugar cookies. However, I am NOT a huge soda drinker. To be honest, I'm a savory and salty kinda gal, so my go-to junk foods are chips, dips, and the like. My husband on the other hand has a huge sweet/sugary drink tooth, but he doesn't like sugar cookies like I do. Anyway, Swig had something for both of us. I kept talking about soda shops, so when we pulled up to the drive they, my husband was shocked. He was expecting (wait for it) a 1950s style soda shop. I was like BRUH. Noooo. It's a drive thru! If you're a newb, don't make that mistake like my husband. He was totally crushed. The line at the drive thru was long, and for an indecisive person like me, I was "freaked" out because I felt pressure to have my order ready. Luckily for us, the girl taking orders was sweet as pie. She told us not to rush and went and took other orders. When we still hadn't decided, she told us we could order at the window, and we did just that. I was surprised to find that the cookies were served...cold. Like, straight out the fridge cold! I'm used to another Utah based company, Crumbl, and their sugar cookies aren't THAT ice cold. I went for the cookies, but unfortunately for me, the cookies weren't as great as I hoping for. We took them back to our hotel and they were a little better after they got to room temp. We got chocolate chip, peanut butter, sugar, and a Fruity Pebbles Rice Krispie treat. My husband loved his drink (ugh...I can't remember the name) and mine was good (Loop T Loop). They are incredibly sweet. I got a 16oz and definitely did not finish it. Between the cookie AND the drink--way too much sugar! Overall, the customer service was the best part of this experience. i visited a few different swigs while out in utah and this location is definitely my least favorite. they only have large boba straws which i wasn't a fan of, and they forgot cream on my drinks twice. they weren't the fastest to get your order but were efficient enough. the workers weren't always the friendliest and sometimes just seemed annoyed to be there. the drinks came out relatively fast and the location was never busy. overall just not my favorite location of swig and I think you can get a much more experience elsewhere but it was convenient read more

Honestly, swig isn't my go to drink place just because I feel they are a big business with little customer care but this location is by far the best. The drinks are usually made correctly and there is one girl who is really nice that works here. This was super fun. I'm not from Utah so the dirty soda shop was pretty foreign to me. I really enjoyed mine! At first our order was wrong, but they quickly corrected it and were very friendly. We got the Happy Camper and a custom refresher with sparkling water, guava, mango puree, and coconut cream. Highly recommend trying that second one :) I'd love to go back, but I don't know when I will be near a Swig next, so I might have to make one at home! On a recent trip to the area, we had heard good things about Swig and had to check it out. Really cool concept! On our first trip, I got a Dirty Dr Pepper and cinnamon sugar pretzels. For the signature drink, I was a little underwhelmed, though the pretzels were great. On the second visit, I tried the Endless Summer, which was really really good! The burst of sugar I needed. Also, the employees were extremely friendly and supportive of two people who didn't know the menu. Swig is a nice addition to the fast food landscape. The hours say they close at 9:30. I was in line at 9:20. I had to sit in a 15 minute line only for them to NOT take my order because it was after 9:30 by the time the girl came to take our order. If they don't want to serve customers after 9:30 they need to close off the drive through line. Once you are in line there is no way out. There were at least 5 cars behind us that also got in line before 9:30 and had to sit in line even longer and didn't get to order. If you don't want to take orders after 9:30, close the line at 9 and post your closing hours at 9. If you close at 9:30, you should serve everyone who is in line by 9:30! I've loved Swig for years, but Monday night was my worst ever experience. So much so I will never go to this location again. I'd rather drive up the street to Thirst. It looks like there is one car ahead of me placing an order when I pull up. When the attendant takes off her mask, leans in the window and hugs her friend and begins to chit chat. "That's ok, I'm not in a hurry." I thought. A solid and uncomfortable 5 minutes later my wife politely gets out of our car, past the other car, and on to the pick-up window to place her order. The attendant looks at me, and I say, "we were tired of waiting, so she's gonna go to the window." The attendant went inside, and a second attendant came out. To take my order? No. To visit. There are now 3 cars behind me, it's been a little slow. A couple more minutes, cars roll forward. My wife at the window is greeted with, "I don't know what they're doing out there, it's not my problem." In the end, 6 cars piling up behind us, 15 minutes for a quick drive-up, and rude teens. I'll start going to Thirst where I'm told to "Have a great day!" Or the 900 E location, where we are always greeted with a smile. read more

Let's get right into it, since who knows when I'll have the honor to do so again: Utah has a monopoly on soda drive thru's, so rest assured, I've had my fair share of "dirty sodas" and the like. They all pretty much run the same game, which I wouldn't even consider a negative, because why fix what's not broken? That said, the best way to optimize Swig's menu is to go online ahead of time and peruse the options available, as to avoid fumbling in the drive thru trying to figure out questions like "what flavors do you have" (SO MANY) or can you do "x,y,z"? Like I said previously, if you've been to one of these bad boys, you likely already know the answers to some degree. But hey, if you're a novice this is what you can expect: There are a few options in terms of what type of drink you can get. Your standard sodas are a good place to start, which work like so: If you're like me, lazy and want people to do all the heavy lifting for you, they have a large menu of pre-made sodas which are guaranteed foolproof. Huge fan of the Big Al & the Hula Girl. If you want to design it from scratch, here's your chance. You begin by choosing a side and base soda. Mind you, you could theoretically choose every base soda available. This would be absolute chaos, but it's America so ask for debauchery and you shall receive. However, for optimal taste I'd say your best bet is 1-2 base sodas. Sizes are, kids (12.oz), 16 oz, 24 oz, 32 oz, 44 oz. Base sodas: most pepsi AND coke products, orange soda, powerade, ginger ale & sparkling water. From there on out you can choose add ins such as: flavors, fresh fruits, purees, creams, & splashes. Like I said, they have an ABUNDANCE of options. So please, save your cashier from the nightmare of having to recount them all to you, & look at the bloody website. If you're not big on soda, never fear, these one's are for you: Reviver (blended base), Refresher (sparkling water base), Freezes (which come in 2 base flavors Blue Razmataz & Tiger's Blood), Hot Chocolate (in season), Bobas, Italian Sodas & that good old h20. *A lot of these drinks work in the same way as the sodas do, with a lot of room to be customized and allot for add ins. A lot to take in? Most definitely, but with a nearly infinite menu and constant opportunities to try something new, you're bound to find something here that will stick. Even if you forgo drinks entirely, they can hook you up with a cookie or two. I only deducted a star because a lot of these soda places offer things like ice cream and frozen lemonade, and small petty shit like that, which gives them a bit of an upper hand. We have been supporters of this Swig location since it opened. After our experience tonight, we will take our business elsewhere. There is more than enough quality competition within a 10 min drive. We took our kids for a treat to celebrate the end of the school year. We were in the line before the closing time and had been waiting for nearly 15 min when an employee came to our car and asked us to leave. She stated, "we have a lot of things we need to do in order to close and all these cars aren't helping so we need you to leave." We told her we were in line before the closing time and her reply was "we still need you to go." If there is a bright side, we can use it as a teaching moment for the three kids in the car of how not to treat people, especially if you are representing an employer. read more
