Drinks were fairly good and tasty but be sure to expect the prices when you go in to order. I went in and had no idea how expensive the drinks would be. I ended up ordering a 49 dollar drink. Luckily I shared with my fiance and it was enough for us both. make sure to keep the jug because the drink is a lot cheaper to refill if you have the jug. read more

Came in to get a margarita for the boat ride on the riverwalk. It's great that you can take the drinks to go, but the drinks were terrible. My husband and I ordered margaritas on the rocks and the lady bent down to a fridge poured something in the cup from the fridge and handed it to us. It was weird and not made like it would be behind a normal bar, didn't see her put any alcohol in it. It tasted funky, not like a normal margarita and there was absolutely no taste of alcohol in mine or my husbands. Waste of $18. Go elsewhere and get a real margarita made by a real bartender for cheaper instead of some pre-made mix from the fridge. read more

If you're on the River Walk, do drop in for a nice cold icy drink. You can take them on the river walk too. They have lots of flavored margaritas and you can mix the flavors too. I was at the River Walk 2 days in a row and each day I had a few margaritas from the Thirsty Aztec. So delicious and plenty potent. Love this place! read more

This place is dirty tourist trap. I saw a bartender stick their finger in the drink dispenser because it wasn't working. I also watched as a customer (who seemed to be friends with staff) receive several free shots and refills. Meanwhile an 8 oz. glass of less than 13% alcoholic slushy is something like 9 bucks. If you want a dirty, expensive, poorly made sugar drink that won't get you drunk, but "hey! You can walk around with it on the river!" this is your stop. Tourist find somewhere else. This bar is just what the River walk needed in my opinion! It was very clean and opens up to the lower level of the River walk so people can walk in and out with their drinks. They had a live performer when I attended which added a nice touch. DRINKS ARE DELICIOUS! However the margaritas were kind of overpriced for your run of the mill machine frozen drinks in my opinion. This was the highlight of my trip. Super yummy drinks. Very strong which was lovely in comparison to the watered down drinks in all the restaurants I visited. You can buy a large plastic cup that makes it feel like your a kid at the zoo (super fun lol) and have it refilled for $10. And... YOU CAN CARRY IT AROUND ON THE RIVERWALK! Great deal and the bartenders were super friendly. Also the Jell-O shots were fabulous. I used to make my own for every party and they were alright, but Thirsty Aztec has their recipe down. Skip the crappy restaurant drinks and just come here! They have tons of flavors and you can mix and match. 10/10 for me. read more

Great place to stop for a drink on the river walk. During the holiday week, refills were only $5, can't say we found any deals that good else where. The line could get a a little long, but service ran smoothly and didn't take long. read more

YUMMY!!! On a hot evening we were interested in a cool beverage. As we walked we saw a couple carrying a 44oz tall glass. That was enough advertisement.
