Morrissey hadn't graced San Antonio in over 10 years, with past cancellations and postponements haunting fans along the way. So when he finally returned, San Antonio Moz fans showed up and showed out. Despite multiple after-party options across the city, fans from Brazil, the UK, Canada, Japan, and all across the U.S. chose Bang Bang Bar as the place to be on a cold Saturday night. Hosted by local emcee Ricardo Moz and Apollo DJ, the night turned into one for the history books. Bang Bang Bar is easily one of Texas' best dive-lounge bars...the perfect blend of gritty and cozy. Great cocktail program, solid beer selection, and a vibe that just works. The décor leans heavy into a 1950s-60s lounge aesthetic, with intimate spaces like the Blue Room and Yellow Room, perfect for groups of 7-10. Low lighting, warm atmosphere, and zero pretension exactly what you want for a night like this. Bang Bang Bar consistently supports local and touring acts, spanning punk, alternative, and DJ-driven nights, and this Moz Smiths Disco was no exception. It was wall-to-wall classics all night long. Major credit to Phanie and the Bang Bang Bar management they rolled up their sleeves, brought in extra bar staff, and handled an overwhelming crowd like pros. Fans waited up to 45 minutes in the cold, with a line wrapping around the building, and the energy inside never dipped. As the host of Panic On The Streets, I'm incredibly thankful to Bang Bang Bar for helping us pull off one of the best after-parties we've done in years. Fittingly, 2026 marks the 10-year anniversary of both Bang Bang Bar and Panic On The Streets of San Antonio and what a way to celebrate. Bang Bang Bar has long been one of my favorite bars in town, and after this night, that reputation is more than earned. They were happy to answer my questions and I was never made to feel rushed. The bar itself has an awesome vibe. It's divey but offer fancy drinks. The bar has a stage (we've seen FEA perform there) and they have ample seating (tables, couches, stools, etc). I also enjoy how each couch area is its own living room setup (think of what you see when shopping for couches/coffee tables) and feel/vibe. It is next to the Make Ready food hall and makes for a perfect 1 - 2 punch of activity. We arrived right at the tail end of Happy hour, so I order an Old Fashioned and found a spot at their outdoor patio. The patio is pet friendly and they do have live music. My drink was made well and made for a nice evening as the weather outside was nice and the live one-man band added some nice ambience. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. When we walked in, we sat at an almost empty bar. One bartender made eye contact with me from the other side of the bar, then looked away. I figured she might have assumed we needed a minute to look at the menu, even though a simple "Hi, I'll be right with you" would have been appreciated. I was only ordering a beer, so I didn't need much time. Three to five minutes passed with absolutely no acknowledgment. No greeting, no "I'll be right with you," not even another glance in our direction. Meanwhile, all five bartenders were standing together behind the bar talking among themselves while we were completely ignored. At that point, we were getting frustrated. We even stood up, hoping someone would finally acknowledge us. My friend suggested we just leave, but I couldn't believe what was happening. As we started to walk out, I decided to go to the other end of the bar and ask if we could order. I approached one of the bartenders and politely asked, "Excuse me, are we able to order?" She apologized and took our order right away. What really left a bad impression, though, was what happened next. After we received our drinks, one of the bartenders who had been standing with the group turned around and said, "Have a nice night," in an unmistakably sarcastic tone. It felt completely unnecessary and unprofessional. I've never experienced service like this before. Being ignored for nearly 10 minutes in a mostly empty bar with five bartenders on duty was disappointing enough, but the sarcastic comment afterward made the experience even worse. If management or the owners would like to verify what happened, I encourage them to review the security cameras. We arrived around 8:50 p.m., walked to the other end of the bar around 9:00 p.m., and this occurred on July 4. I hope this was simply an isolated incident because no customer should feel ignored or unwelcome when they walk into a business.

For her second drink, she told the bartender to surprise her. He gave her a look and asked more than once if she was sure she wanted him to surprise her. Instead of making her an actual cocktail, he poured her what seemed to be a straight, extremely bitter liqueur. The whole interaction felt sarcastic and like he was intentionally messing with her rather than trying to make her something she would enjoy. What bothered me most was the attitude behind it. We weren't being rude, demanding, or causing problems. We were there to have a good time and experience the whole "tell us what you like and we'll make you something" concept. I did call the number listed for the business afterward trying to speak to someone about it. The person who answered said I had the wrong number and didn't know what I was talking about. I got angry during that call and said some things I shouldn't have, and I can admit that. But that doesn't change how disappointing the experience at the bar was. We expected a creative and welcoming experience and instead left feeling like my wife had been mocked. I hope management sees this and addresses it, because the concept of the place is great, but the way we were treated completely ruined it for us
