Farm with beer. Beer was good and so was the farm atmosphere. It was a busy event filled Saturday so i imagine it's even better when not packed. Any time I'm in that random area I'm stopping by!

Outdoor dining closed up with heaters and so cozy

A great way to spend a Saturday night! Thirsty Farmer is definitely a family favorite. A perfect family atmosphere. The food never disappoints and the beer and cider are even better. Our kids love coming here and playing games. The food was quick and the service getting beer and cider was wonderful. If you are in Gettysburg this is a must try place!

Besides going down a side road that looks like a scene out of the Blair Witch project at night, this place was great! I'm a dark beer girl and they only offered a chocolate porter, but boy did they nail that chocolate porter. It tasted delicious. They had live music and the place was pretty busy. They sell merchandise and also sell food. The workers were friendly and helpful. Check this place out! Oh! They also offer an Adams County beer passport. So grab a passport, get stamped, and head to the next brewery! Chocolate porter was a win :)

    View from parking lot.

Very well done for a Farm brewery. We haven't tasted all the beer we purchased, but the food offering was the real surprise here. Home smoked meats and proper soft pretzel was terrific. We had a panini with smoked pork, a raspberry chipotle spread and a jack cheese. All fresh, and a true panini press to boot. Great job for a small menu.

Great location to enjoy an afternoon outdoors! We enjoyed the beer, cider, and bites! Only thing preventing 5-stars is that they got busy & fell behind...need a couple more hands in the kitchen & pouring! Oh & they are pet friendly!

I came here on a Friday afternoon in the summer (hey, teacher life) and it wasn't crowded at all, but I can see about some people's complaints about the noise level. They need to get some sort of something in there to better the acoustics. But other than that, I really enjoyed my trip here. We got the mozzarella sticks and they were awesome (I don't like that they give you 5 because if you're in a party of 2, 3, or even 4, that leaves you arguing over who is going to get an extra, especially in my group lol) I'd like to come back and try some of their sandwiches. Beer was good. They let you sample before you commit to a pint, but I'm almost positive they don't do flights, which is a shame.

Stopped in for the Hazelnut Brown Ale. Definitely a unique venue with outdoor seating, and it's across the street from a nice farmers market. If you're anywhere close, worth the trip!

New England IPA an Indian pale ale Both made in house.

Awesome hospitality and friendly staff. Tasty brewed beverages and good finger food. Would definitely come again and recommend.

It was very busy. I expected faster service, and the pickup was a little confusing, but I was served what I ordered.

It's made from old tires (mostly) in different configurations for climbing or balancing but also has a duel slide thats about 30 feet long, and not tooo steep. The beer was solid - I had a märzen (tis the season), a stout, and a hazy IPA. Stout was my favorite, with a super rich flavor profile. My wife enjoyed her wheat beer as well. We got the soft pretzels, which came with plenty of cheese sauce and brown mustard for dipping, and late got sandwiches from a food truck parted on-site. The kids also got ice cream.... Menu included pizza and nachos as well.

They had someone playing guitar and singing, and the acoustics in the place were horrible, so we couldn't even determine the song being played. It didn't help that it was packed with lots of kids. Our first server took our drink orders and then never came back. Eventually, another server took our beverage and food order. Beers were good and so were our chips and guac. After screaming at each other to even be heard, we decided it was time to leave. Our second server could not find our first server, so we only had to pay for the second round. Would not go again, unless it was a beautiful day!

Ordered a flight and a mixed drink.  They have beer offering, wine and spirits.  What caught my eye was their flight of Scotch 4 1/2 oz pours for only $14.  WINNING!!!! The Beer: Bunches honey granola cream Ale 5.5% ABV... smooth and crushable! Belgian Dubbel w/ cherry plum & raisins 7.1% ABV... I wasn't expecting the high amount of acidity for this Belgian dubbel. It was a burst of flavor which punched me right in the taste buds.  In a good way. Coattails Double IPA 7.9% ABV...  well balanced IPA, a little citrus, a little hops, slightly sweet and nothing overwhelming. FIRE! French Toast Nightman barrel aged Imperial Stout 10% ABV... dark chocolate and coconut is all I got.  It was semi sweet and tasted a little of extract. Aged 14 months, respectfully throw that back in the barrel and pull it out in a few years. Or bottle it and forget about it for a long while. Dark Passenger cherry vanilla Porter 7.6%  ABV... this one kicked before I could try it.  Maybe next time. The service was fantastic.  The beer was great.  And, I felt totally comfortable in this atmosphere.  Like that t-shirt that is super comfortable, but you can't throw away because it is so very comfortable.  Or your favorite reclining chair.  Suffice to say, I wish I could pack Homaide Brewing in my carry on and take is with me on my flight back to to Florida.

Small brewery's are common in Appalachia. Some have even turned into larger operations, over the…read moreyears. Names like Appalachian Beer Company and Lancaster Brewery come to mind. These places some excellent beer. But they also are restaurants. So, maybe beer is a draw in or the food at times. So with that, Drunk Monkey is a pure brewery. They make, sell, distribute, and promote their own product. As far as promoting, I am not sure they need to do much work as the product has really gotten some attention at the street level. I have seen the main beer showing up at local restaurants the last year. There has also been solid word of mouth. Some of their beers are even winning awards. So it didn't take much convincing from a coworker to get me there before our Nittany Lions came on. The brewery, itself, is a tiny place tucked into an old industrial park that use to be home to one of the largest textile mills in the country. Long abandoned, different smaller businesses now call the park home. One of the more sustained businesses is Fisher's bee farm. That brings us to the brewery. The owner of the bee farm decided to start a brewery near his business. Once finding the brewery, you notice that it is a whole in the wall kinda place. But once entering, the place is organized, clean, and the folks are extremely warm and friendly. Everything is clearly marked. Beer prices are payed out in a sheet on the wall. There is a merchandise rack clearly marked. There are cases clearly marked for type. You can tell this is a place where the people love and care about their beer. The lady manning the shop was knowledgable and friendly. She gave us a preview of the beers and described each one as we taste tested the taps. She then offered us a tour of the small brewery which we jumped on. This definitely plussed the experience and ultimately earned that fifth star. We learned that this particular young lady also hand labels, preps, and fills the bottles. So she does more than just look pretty selling the beer. Now for the beer. I really can't remember all the particular names of the beer. But I had a few favorites. In particular, the German wheat beer was fantastic. That is what I got my growler filled with. Some of the other beers that tasted great, Kraken and one named Mistress or something to that effect. Fittingly, the mistress had a tap handle in the shape of a ship figure head. Speaking of which, all the beers have nautical names based on the folklore of Captain Jack which many local landmarks are named. I have nothing negative to say about Drunk Monkey. They are in an obscure location. The place is small and doesn't look like much from the outside. But like most really great businesses, it is about the knowledge of the people behind the business. Drunk Monkey has plenty of that! If you are in the area on a Wednesday or Saturday, stop in for a taste.

It is 5 minutes from the 70/81 interchange. A 12 oz pour of most beers is around $7 (which I think is a tad high when you are buying from the source) but it is cheaper than their Columbia location and much friendlier. Lower ABV beers are in 16 oz, pours for a similar price. They also have cocktails and in the summer a smoothie machine of adult drinks. Pizza is also on the pricey side, but it is excellent. "If you want to go to a brewery that is super loud from obnoxious drunk people singing karaoke and…read moreothers cheering them on, this is your kind of brewery." I hate giving any brewery less than five stars because 99% of them deserve it but this is the 1%. TBH: I'd like to think I'm a brewery connoisseur considering I've been to hundreds of them over the past ten years but this one might be the worst one I've ever been to. I've also drank hundred of different craft beers from a lot breweries I've never been to in a multitude of states where friends have went without me and brought different IPA's, Sours, Stouts, Porters, etc. back to share with me. I'd say this place is more of a super busy bar in an area with not much to do other than go to this place which also happens to sell pizza and brew their own beers than it is a brewery. Breweries are always chill and relaxing and this place is nothing of the sort, at all! The location is also right beside a busy interstate so when you are outside you are literally listening to and watching cars drive by. We walked in on a Saturday evening and it was wall to wall people which is a great thing for the owners but over time that can't be sustained because that kind of crowd will end up costing you true brewery enthusiasts because I've never once been to a brewery and seen a person drunk or anyone causing a commotion. The whole point of drinking craft beers is to enjoy the different flavor complexities and/or to enjoy their seasonal beers while also enjoying others company. You ever see people at wineries slamming glasses of wine to get drunk while screaming at the top of their lungs? Exactly! I love the whole style of this place which is industrial and the artwork is amazing. We had a couple sours that we shared which were amazing tbh and I wish we could have enjoyed them or more over a good conversation that we typically have while going from brewery to brewery but we couldn't even hear ourselves think over the super loud environment and bad karaoke lol The peanut butter and the strawberry shortcake sours were amazing, I must say. I'm sure this place is great for the people who live close by and go daily or on a weekly basis but this isn't my kind of brewery that is in a cool old building or off the beaten path. I'm coming to a brewery to relax, talk, people watch, and possibly play some type of board game or cards they have on the shelves. If there happens to be a night where I am at a brewery and they have live music which not many breweries that I have been to do its usually more open mic and mellow, not concert level speakers. Anyways, this place is great for college kids and bikers but not my kind of vibe so I most likely will never come back no matter how great their beers are. FYI: I wouldn't mind ordering a pizza for pick up from RAD Pies the next time I am in the area and taking it to another brewery and enjoying it there because their pizza did look pretty good. Have fun and be safe ;)
