I was let down by this place. I liked the idea of them making their own alcohol on site, but the food wasn't up to par. First, half the tables were empty and there was still like a half hour wait. It just seemed not staffed enough, but once you're here (they don't take reservations) there's not a lot of places nearby to change your mind to. There is a small merch shop to browse as you wait. The tables are nicely spaced out. The Bavarian pretzels were great, but they only come with mustard and cheese is an upcharge, which I've never seen as a pretz connoisseur. It was an interesting thicker cream cheese-ish dip which required spreading with the knife. The website lists a "weekly steak special" but none was to be found when we went. So we got the gyro which was decent and the Philly cheesesteak which was extremely salty to the point of being almost inevitable. The homemade chips (the only non upcharge size) were thick and crunchy. Both sandwiches were around $20 which felt overpriced for the quality. Other sides were available for an upcharge, which seemed not worth it on the existing bill. The service was good, the bathrooms were nice, and there was plenty of parking. The food was just disappointing. If you're more of a drinker, you may be able to overlook that. read more

Small distillery in Gettysburg. I had the short rib poutine, daughter had fried chicken sandwich, mom had the bacon cheeseburger. We all shared a fried pickle app. Fried pickles were standard with a house made dill type dip. Dip was good but portion could be a bit larger. Poutine was ok. I'm not a fan of cornstarch dusted fries-so there's that. The short rib was tender and plentiful. Oddly, though the short rib and the gravy didn't have a very beefy flavor. So the poutine was sadly underwhelming in my point of view. The portion is large enough to definitely share. My daughter's chicken thigh sandwich was good. She thought it was flavorful the sauce on. It was nothing to write home about. The house made chips were OK. My mom's cheeseburger looks really good. It was cooked just as she ordered. She said it was very tasty. It came with like a barbecue sauce on it, but she said overall was very good. They have a rather large drink menu with products from their distillery. The prices were not crazy. That skillet of poutine was $16. Total bill for three of us with fountain sodas an iced tea, our bill was $82. They have a bar it is somewhat kid friendly so give it a try. read more

We've stopped in twice - and we will again - while hanging out in Gettysburg on 2 different occasions. Both times, the food has been spectacular...enough so that I remember the taste of both entrees pictured! First visit I sampled the Brisket Benedict which was fantabulous - 2nd visit was their Montecristo ....which was just as good. Snappy service - lively, but not too loud, great-looking distillery décor ...and plenty of merch for you to walk over and inspect. Is it possible for the food at a distillery to be better than the spirits? At the very least, Mason Dixon has proven that it's not just a distillery that happens to serve food, but a culinary destination in its own right. We started with the goat cheese brûlée, which was the perfect mix of sweetness, saltiness and cheesiness spread on perfectly warmed pita slices. We then went with the Burger of the Month, loaded with pork belly and mushroom goodness. For the beverage, I had the Fig and hive mule made with their homemade fig vodka. We've been here many times and always enjoy ourselves. Brunch is excellent! Great place to have a cocktail and some appetizers.

The building is very beautiful inside and looks very rustic. The service was good and quick. The menu was quite limited and honestly a bit over priced for the nicer items. The steak my brother got was okay and it's not served with much at all, just pure and a few veggies. The crab cake was okay, tastey fishy and just both not enough food or quality for $40. The burgers me and my husband got were not bad at all and worth the price. We did get a flight of bourbon and they were tasty. But overall I'd say a bit over priced for the nicer items. read more

First time visiting, really enjoyed it. Cool space and atmosphere. Maddi was our waitress and was the best. She was so friendly and welcoming, gave great suggestions. We started with the goat cheese brûlée which was so delicious. Perfect salty, sweet, and a kick of spice appetizer. We split the old fashioned flight and it was perfect sips to try their different options. The tart cherry and orange clove were our faves. We ordered the burger of the month and fried chicken sandwich. Both were awesome. We tried some of canned cocktail while there as well and ended up buying a variety 8 pack. This was our first time at Mason Dixon Distillery in Gettysburg, PA and was really impressed with their whiskey drinks and appetizers menu so many great options. We enjoyed the following appetizers: -Fried Brussels Sprouts, drizzled with honey/topped withdried cranberries & a nut relish/green peppers. -Fried pickles, with ranch dipping sauce. -Beignet dessert, house made with some type of secret bourbon caramelize syrup. The Mason Dixon Distillery always delivers. Their staff knows their offerings well and are always able to make recommendations. As a distillery, they have options to try on the drink front you are unlikely to experience anywhere else. The setting is one of my favorite things, just right with a cool vibe. The thing I am always impressed by is how their food is more sophisticated than you expect it to be. The attention to detail and unique take on dishes elevates the experience. Would love to give this like 3 1/2 stars. I came across this place when in Gettysburg. I was happy to find that they had food offerings which meant my boyfriend and I could grab dinner there and a drink. There really aren't a lot of food options and most of what is really appetizing is the weekly changing specials and the apps. Unfortunately none of the specials really tickled my fancy. It was trout or the tomahawk steak. My food was overly seasoned. It tasted like a bowl of salt. It was $20 for rice, cabbage, mushrooms, corn and onions with a chimichurri sauce. Definitely over priced. Then I had to add shrimp to have some kind of protein. It was 4 pieces for $7- that wasn't bad. But I wish they just included it. I honestly should have got a salad or the burger instead but I had already had a burger for lunch. My boyfriend loved all his food he also got the perfect rum and coke which he enjoyed and said was really strong. I get that this is a distillery first and my drink was quite nice - but I still think the food could use some work. I wanted to stay a bit longer and buy some canned cocktails for home but the food just made me sick as it was so salty on top of the fried appetizer (that's my own fault for ordering that). I just would have loved to see one more balanced meal option. Our waitress was soooo sweet and the vibe was really great ! Definitely a fun date night. On a trip down to visit my daughter, Wifey and I stopped in at the Mason Dixon Distillery for a tasting and some lunch. We got there just past a normal lunchtime so the place wasn't packed and we sat at a high top by the bar. The place is beautiful with high ceilings and open viewing of the distilling equipment. To start we ordered the goat cheese brûlée as an appetizer (which Wifey referred to as one of the best things she's ever eaten), Wifey had the seasonal sangria, and I had the aged flight of five different alcohols. For our meals Wifey had the Mediterranean Mezze bowl with shrimp and I had the Burger special. The food we delicious and worth the stop and Wifey loved her bowl and her sangria. The alcohol tasters were ok. Pours were a little light and a couple of the tasters were just ok. I would 100% come back here, but I'd probably order a drink rather than a flight. read more

This is my second visit to Gettysburg and we always come to this place for their brunch and dinner. There are just enough food choices to satisfy everyone's appetite, and the staff is pleasant and the owner comes around personally to greet you and see how your meal is. It's always good. It is worth the trek to venture out and dine in this Distillery and heres why. In additon to all of the liquor they serve being made from scratch in house with drink cocktails such as the Jack Sparrow the food here is the real reason to come. Brisket Benedict - House smoked coffee rubbed brisket, poached egg, crispy shallots, with a BBQ hollandaise drizzle. Served over homemade biscuits & hash browns. We ordered this and it came out in less then a minute, not sure how this happened but I split with my girlfriend and it was phenomenal. We wanted to try the Coffee Cake Beignets for dessert or even the bread pudding ensemble they had on the menu but I believe they were out of both. Went with an apple pie ala mode type dish which had a service issue (Took 18 minutes to come out when normally takes about 5 minutes as staff had explained) My issue is we should have been told they needed to make a new sheet of this dessert as we put the order in and not waiting there wondering if they forgot to put in our order for the entire time we sat at the table. The manager did apologize and asked if he could do anything for us. I had the Jack Sparrow cocktail which consisted of a spiced rum with pineapple / vanilla flavors added in. I went outside my comfort zone with the "spiced rum" and would not get again however there was nothing wrong with the cocktail just a bit too sweet for my likening. They do not take reservations so I recommend you come when they open which is what we did as two other parties had the same idea in my as we all waited at the door 10-15 minutes before they were to open. I would definitely come back and recommend if you want something off the main strip to stop in and try some grub at this disterilly. As always people SYOY!!! read more

This place was great! Looking for dinner in Gettysburg during a short trip here for battlefield purposes, and didn't want any old place. This is a little past downtown but has a big operation with a large indoor seating set up. It has traditional offerings but with a nice twist. The burger of the month was a burger with Italian sub-like toppings - SO good!! The cocktails were amazing, our waiter informed that anything other than beer and wine are made in house. I got a Latte Martini which was actually divine. Poutine fries were yummy as well! The brunch menu looked great - would have loved to try the beignets and I heard some dessert offerings that I would have loved to try on another visit. This place offers a burger of the month, they've had some wild ones that I haven't tried, but wish I did. They only get their beef from the same farm locally so it's always extremely consistent. The one thing they struggle with is making the burger the way you ask, I like my burgers, medium, and I gotten it well done a couple times, but they were quick to remake it. If you're paying near $20 for a burger, you should expect it to be exactly like you want it. They make their own spirits here a lot of great drinks to choose from. They also have an outdoor area that has heated igloo type pods. read more

Wife and I were in the area at lunch we were going to go somewhere else but the place was closed so I looked on Yelp and found this place. When pulling up it looks more like a business in an old building. We arrived about 35 min before closing the place was pretty busy, we sat at a high top table with a few other people. Or server came over she was very nice, she took our drink order while we looked over the rest of the menu. I ordered the Old Fashion drink special they offered on there drink menu wife just had water. We ordered our food before my drink came. Wife had the sub with broccoli on it and I ordered the short rib Benedict with potatoes. My drink finally came it was made with a bourbon that they make there a cherry and orange muddled and walnut bitters. It was good if I ever get this again I would ask for the regular bitters I didn't care for the walnut after taste. Our order came out and everything looked wonderful wife said here sandwich was really good mine was just as tasty potatoes were nice and crispy. I was moving my potatoes around and noticed a piece of hair fried in the potatoes my stomach turned. Called the waitress over and she took my plate to the kitchen it had to come from the guy that was cooking that had a beard with no hair net on? When the waitress brought my meal back the potatoes weren't as crispy and there wasn't as much meat as the first one I was disappointed don't rush the meal because there was a problem and do in half way. The waitress offered to take it off the bill or a free dessert I chose take it off. Would have gave 4 stars but because of the hair and size of the Old Fashion and how my meal came out the second time I gave 3 would have done 2 1/2 if I could. My favorite was the single malt. My wife got the sample flight, which she loved. We started with the hot pretzels, and they were delicious. Our server Jayden was spectacular. Every restaurant should have a Jayden! We were a party of 12 plus a two year old. Unfortunately there was only one bartender working which slowed things down. How can you have one bartender during dinner time? And it's Gettysburg Bike Week!! When we got there much to our surprise and disappointment a lot of things on the menu were only available on certain days. This is a Thursday! I ordered a hamburger medium rare. It took a while for us to get our food. Unfortunately my burger was cold. I usually don't complain, but I wanted hot food.
