On a recommendation by, and chaperone from, a friend I had lunch here while in town for a weekend. Their offering checks all the boxes! As soon as you step inside, take a minute to look around. The interior is neat! A big bar in the middle, plenty of seating, and a patio that can be open air and host live music. It's a great space. Then settle in and try to decide on the menu, it's tough! They have so many options that all sound great! And are great! The club sandwich I had was very tasty and I washed it down with a delicious specialty lemonade. YUM! This past Sunday, I had brunch with a friend. Funny to say it, but I ended up ordering away from the brunch menu. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant, but I felt it didn't really have a scheme. They do have a decent-sized menu, I'd suggest you browse the menu online, prior to getting there. I must agree with some others, I feel they are a bit overpriced compared to other eateries like them. I wish they had a menu with more variations than a plate full of carbs, but thankfully, you can make some changes to what you order. I ordered the white cheddar bacon burger w/out the sauce and bun, it was delicious. NOW, the salad w/ their homemade ranch dressing, that made me want to SLAP someone. It was SO good and I mean, GOOD. So GOOD, I ordered a side salad with their dressing to go. Try it, you can thank me later! I must CHEER for our waitress, she was the real VIP during our visit. Went here for lunch yesterday and absolutely adored it. The food was amazing. The ramen was authentic and hot and most definitely worth a try. I got the grilled Atlantic salmon which was spectacular. Our bartender, Ky even asked if we needed any extra sauce so I got some extra of the sauce that comes on the salmon to put it in the rice and it was A1. Both beautifully presented as well. They have a great selection of beers and wines, so you'll have no problem finding your favorite or even a new fav. I got the passion fruit mojito that I would recommend to anybody, it is probably a favorite for me now. Ky was great and made sure we had everything we needed. The vibe was impeccable. We came here for Sunday brunch. This place is brand new, clean, and humungous! I was in a great debate between the omelet and the smoked chicken salad. I finally picked the healthier option and got the salad. The smoked chicken salad was very fresh, colorful, and had lots of vibrant flavors. The chicken was well seasoned and had a good (not overpowering) smokey flavor. The salad was good, BUT they don't give you much chicken at all and I couldn't seem to find any avocado (maybe they forgot)!! I was hungry again about an hour later! Even though it tasted good, for $13 and change, I don't think I would get this again! They do offer a lot of other appealing menu items, I have heard their chicken and waffles are good and there burgers. I might go with one of these options in the future! I walked in and went to sit at the bar where I was greeted immediately by the bartender who was extremely helpful. I ordered the fish and chips which were good and got the French dip to go which was just ok. I had the brownie w/ vanilla ice cream for dessert which was overkill. Came here on a weeknight with my boyfriend - we were seated immediately. It took a bit to be greeted but we were quickly given drinks and placed our order. We shared the gastro burger and the spicy chicken sandwich. I thought both were ok, but neither was incredible (or spicy). I've previously gone to another location and tried some of the "specialties" and enjoyed those more. They do have a rewards program which seems like it may have some good benefits if you come here regularly. read more

This place is a chaotic mess. I wanted to try a new place for a date night and what a disappointment. Our server was more attentive to everyone walking in than our table. There was no greetings, no welcome and definitely, no my name is ... I wanted to try the hibiscus basil lemonade and I was told they were out but I can order an agua fresca. Well, if I wanted an agua fresca I would have order that. When the food finally arrived, 45 mins later, my food was warm and dry. It was sitting under the lamp for quite sometime. I really wasn't hungry or thirsty when I decided to stop in, but that soon changed. I was pleasantly surprised to see a line of cars and a small line of patrons at the door, however, since I was a party of one, was able to immediately sit at the bar and enjoy my night. I truly didn't know what to expect, however, the pub was busy and the bartenders were extremely busy. At the table, there was a preset setting along with the upcoming St Patrick's day 'Seasonal Specials', so I decided on a couple of starters and be done for the night. It seemed like there weren't any bar backs(since things just opened here in Texas, but the bartenders did an amazing job keeping up with the orders from the restaurant as well from the people around the bar. I decided it was now time to order some food to supply my beverage, so I ordered the 'Traditional Scotch Eggs' and the 'Spicy Tuna Roll'. I was NOT disappointed in either. Living in Minneapolis and traveling to London often, I'm use to Britts Pub scotch eggs as well as ones from London. The sausage wrap was slightly different, but the eggs were perfect. Only change I would make....maybe it's because of what I'm use to, is the Dijon mustard they chose for the side. (Even though it was still delicious) As for the Spicy Tuna Roll, I knew I was including a different flare combining these two starters, however, the roll didn't disappoint either. I met family here for brunch on a Saturday morning. We decided to sit on the front patio with our dog and enjoy lunch. The service was great, however the food is another story. To start, I tried the siracha and wasabi Bloody Mary. Warning: the wasabi is not mixed in the drink like the siracha so be careful not to get a straw full of wasabi like me. All around the drinks were pricey but taste great. For food I tried the Spanish chilaquiles and breakfast burrito. The chilaquiles is what I usually order, it's packed with flavor and filling. I asked for egg over easy but it was very over cooked, the chorizo was missing from the dish, and the ingredients included in the breakfast burrito were diced so fine and used sparingly. This is not my typical review because I can't actually review the food. This will be about the service or rather the lack of service. The weather was beautiful yesterday so we (3 adults and my 2-year-old grandson) decided to find a patio. We had just eaten at The Reserve (just across the way from The Thirsty Lion) the night before so we decided to go to The Thirsty Lion. Of note, my sister and I both spent years in food service as servers and managers. We get it. When things are busy, we completely understand and are patient and helpful. But we also see the flip side. We got there at 3:00. There were multiple tables open outside, but the non-high-tops were dirty, except for one which I will get to in a minute. Being with a 2-year-old, we needed a normal height table. We asked about a table outside and the hostess said there wasn't anything available. I looked out the window and said it looks like there are - they just need to be cleaned. She was clearly annoyed. About that time, someone went outside and picked up a few glasses from one of the tables so she said she would sit us out there when it was clean. 10 minutes later, I kid you not, nothing else has happened. She has disappeared and the tables are still dirty. She comes back to the front and another man with a toddler came in. He asked to sit at a normal height table outside and she said they were dirty. He asked about the fire table and she said sure. Off they go to sit outside. We didn't know that was an option but it would have been nice to offer it. She doesn't come back immediately but shows up about 5 minutes later. I ask about the progress and she says they are getting the tables clean. Now, I can see the patio from the front door and there is zero sense of urgency. I ask if they even know someone is waiting. She again seems annoyed and says there are a lot of tables to clean. Granted, but you have customers waiting for one of them. 10 more minutes pass. During this time, a manager walks up to the hostess and asks what we are doing. Again, no sense of urgency. We finally get seated more than 25 minutes after we arrive. Okay. Then we wait. No server. The people at the tables all around us have servers. 8 minutes pass and the hostess wanders out. I ask if there is a server for the table and she asks who sat us there. Really? A few minutes later and a waiter comes by and says he will be with us in a few minutes. At this point, we have been there 40 minutes. Seems ridiculous, right? We agree. We decide to leave and go back to The Reserve. A different manager sees us getting up to walk out and comes to figure out what is happening. By then, we were just over it. We went to The Reserve, got seated at the big top table outside (even though they normally hold it for big parties but they took pity on us when we told them what just happened) and had incredible service. We wanted to try it and I think we were incredibly patient. (That patience was only possible because my grandson was playing outside with my husband although my husband said my grandson was so hungry he ate dirt. :) )The menu looked good and the reviews seem good so we were interested but the consistent service failures by pretty much everyone we encountered when they were not busy is pretty tough to overcome. read more

We ordered take out last night through Grub Hub. The food was cold, which may say more about Grub Hub than Thirsty Lion, but was still annoying considering the delivery charge, service charge, and tip paid. That's a pretty big upcharge for cold, limp fries and a room temperature burger. I wish I'd just driven down there and picked it up myself. Also, the seared ahi salad was good but TINY! For $18 I expected something a little more substantial. I was glad we were at home so I could eat a bowl of cereal after the meal. I don't consider myself to be a big eater necessarily but this wouldn't have been enough food for one of my small children! I can still see myself going there again with a girlfriend for HH sometime, but we definitely won't be ordering take out. read more

We dined at the Thirsty Lion in Euless. The place is very large and has many tables. My family and I attended on Friday night for St. Patties day Irish food. The place was very well decorated and festive! I was concerned when we first arrived because the restaurant was fairly empty, but I believe it's simply because the restaurant is so large with numerous tables. Happily the food - corned beef and cabbage- was amazing! And my daughter loved her Mac n Cheese off the kids meal. The server was attentive and professional. I met up with a girlfriend for an early dinner and to check out their happy hour. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and just the right amount of attention. On to the food. It LOOKS really good. Everything that was brought out made you go "ooh". Unfortunately, the flavors are just mediocre. I had a blood orange margarita that tasted just like juice. It was pretty, and I like juice, but a margarita should also taste like tequila. The queso comes out in cast iron, but it wasn't hot. It didn't get finished. The green chili chicken sandwich was also very pretty, but just ok. All these "gastro pubs" keep popping up, with nice decor and mediocre food. Without the mediocre price. Very nice ambiance inside--industrial looking, lots of booths, spacious, bar in center. I sat on the porch outside, with my 2 friends, as the high ceilings make restaurants rather loud at times. The outside temp was in the 90s but the porch had ceiling fans and misters to keep customers cool. I had the cheeseburger. Burger was around 4 oz and cooked as I requested. The bun was not fresh, which deflated the burger experience. Fries were good, but smaller portion. My friend and I liked the smaller portion but it may put bigger eaters off. Friend 1 had the spicy fried chicken, which she said was good but the batter was unusually thick. Friend 1 said cole slaw was very good. 2nd friend had Cobb salad. She did not remark on whether it was good--however, Friend 1 and I noticed the salad was small for the price paid, and the chicken portion of the salad looked skimpy and anemic. Drinks--we did not order drinks. Water came in a great old fashioned glass milk bottle (no ice) which we used to fill our cups. Ice would have made the water a better experience, but I understand that the expectation of ice is an American thing. Price: $19-20 with tip. Would I go back? Not sure. It's pretty close to Lazy Dog, which I love, so I don't know why I would pick Thirsty Lion over Lazy Dog. read more

I'm going to start this off by saying I am a Miami girl through and through. My first time in Texas, I came here for dinner and was not disappointed. I had the a burger the first time and was blown away. Then next day I kissed my flight home and stayed in the hotel across the street for another night. That time I had the steak. That steak made me consider uprooting my whole life to be near it. It's that good. I wish I had a picture but I plan on going back again and will update this with pictures at that time. Went for late lunch after 2 on sat. Not crowded about 30%full. Took 15 min to get asked if we wanted a drink then another 10 to get them. Took another very long time to order food. Of course that took at least 20 mins. We almost fell asleep waiting for the check. Btw. The food was ok, nothing great and for sure not worth the wait. Seating outside also , they even had a fire pit on the patio. The searing is mostly high bar chairs but comfortable. The only minus the noise level, music is too loud for this type of place . Food was great - I had the Salmon, my wife tried the pork belly tacos, two thumbs up. Big drink selection of spirits, craft beers, they even made a drink for my wife that wasn't on the menu. A lot of the negative reviews were about slow service, our waitress Brittany was good , attentive and knowledgeable of the menu, no complaints. Stopped in for a late night bite and were pleased that the kitchen was still open. This was my second visit to a Thirsty Lion and I was impressed yet again. This is a new shopping, dining, entertainment complex and we learned this is just the second location of this restaurant. The vibe is cool and the majority of tables are bar height with lots of larger tables, making it great for groups. On this visit I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with fries. The fries were perfect! Perfectly crispy and tasty. The sandwich was equally delicious. The slightly spicy, fried but juicy chicken breast was complemented by the slaw. Thinking back, I think I ordered the same dish on the visit to the Las Colinas location! Randi at the bar took great care of us! I think they have a winner with this combo of food, service and atmosphere, so here's hoping more locations open soon! read more
