Here we were stuck on a Sunday afternoon in Columbus, Indiana. We ended up staying the night in the Comfort Inn Hotel near I-65. The room was great and the rate was extremely reasonable. The next day we had someone give us a jump and the alternator appeared to be alright. Unfortunately it got us only 15 miles before it died again in Edinburgh, Indiana. After calling a few places we finally found someone who could give us another jump and fix the alternator at their shop. Ken's Auto Electric. The had the old alternator off th car and rebuilt and the battery charged in about an hour. The bill was extremely fair about $ 177.00. So off we went towards home 110 miles away. Unfortunately again the problem started acting up when we got to Anderson, Indiana about 70 miles from Edinburgh. Another repair shop gave us another batter charge while we had dinner at Ponderosa Steakhouse in Anderson, Indiana. After having a great dinner we were told by the Mechanic that the Voltage Regulator on the Alternator was bad. On the last charge we were able to drive the remaining 45 miles back home to Dunkirk, Indiana. Tuesday morning I called Tim at Ken's Auto and informed him of the problem. He informed me to get it fixed and he would pay the bill. I understand problems with parts can happen and I appreciate Tim at Ken's Auto honesty. The cost to replace the Voltage Regulator is about $ 100.00 parts and labor. I will do a follow up here on my review to let everyone know how things went. Update: It appears that the problem was a wire behind the dash. The altenator was OK. However, there was no way for Ken's Electric to know that. It was an expensive wire. Total cost including the altenator was almost $400.00. And I was without my car for over a week.

We got off @ Edinburgh exit & pulled into the nearest lot we could fit, searched mechanics, found a number for Greene's and called. He said "if you can get it here, we can fix it." They charged me $500.00 to put the parts on, cash again. So I paid them $1,200.00. When I had 300 miles on the car I checked the oil. They didn't change it but put a new sticker on the windshield. They kept my 5 gallons of oil and a new GM filter. I wonder if they used my quality AC Delco brake parts on their vehicle and put on some junk? I called and asked for a receipt and Chris went off on me saying he doesn't give receipts for cash. What a dishonest jerk. I finally got a receipt for the fuel line and caliper. He called me and was rude on the phone with me, demanding I give him a business name, i tried to explain to him that these warehouses don't have business names on them, but that if he would come to the back parking lot of the address provided he would find me. After he finally arrived he rudely pointed out a business next door and said i should have told him that name. I tried to point out to him that he there was no access from that business to where i was, but he would not listen. He then began yelling at me because i didn't have any tools or a jack. He then said the car would need towed because i didn't have what i needed. All the time screaming at me at my place of employment. I then told him to leave because i would not pay for "service" like that. I did a quick "google" search and within 15 seconds was able to find where the jack and tools are stored on my particular make and model of vehicle. I would expect if a "professional" doesn't have the necessary tools to do his job, he would either know where they are stored by the manufacture of the vehicle or know how to acquire such information, especially since i was able to find the info with such ease.
