This assortment had two whites and two reds--all of which earned gold medals at competitions. For lunch, we shared the grilled cheese with apple slices and the Eastwood salad, which included apples, blue cheese, nuts, and mixed greens. All were delightful. The tasting room has a warm vibe of a country gathering place with tables, a bar, and a stage. They also have outside seating. Their fermentation room has a glass wall that looks into the tasting room so you can see the tanks. Eastwood is located not far from Monticello and other wineries in the area. I recommend it as a definite stop on any wine outing.

We walked inside and found a great space that included a bar, ample seating, and a stage, where a singer was getting ready to perform. I decided on the White Reserve Tasting, and was able to swap out the oaky chardonnay for the Woodland White blend. My friend and I got a table outside as the weather was nice. We enjoyed our wine and people (and dog) watching. My favorites were the 2024 Viognier and the Woodland White. The 2024 Petit Manseng was good, but a bit tart, and the Artist White blend was too dry for my liking. This is a great winery that you should visit when in the area, that's both kid and dog friendly.

We looked at the menu beforehand and were excited to try the artichoke/asparagus pizza. It was horrible, from the overly smoky flavor to the floppy, seemingly undercooked but somehow burnt middle. For $25?! The pepperoni pizza was the most palatable, although it was also floppy and really greasy. The French fries were really good, and I'd recommend those. The charcuterie board had some problems (including moldy grapes and a hair in the pickles ). Despite it being uncrowded while we were there, service was not good. This place has a lot of potential, hopefully they use any negative feedback and improve.

We also purchased peaches, peach apple cider, dried apples, and other local, fresh products. We will definitely come back to try more wine, cider, and more donuts!

Since I was planning to share with my mom, I went for the sweet wine flight despite personally preferring semi-dry wines more. I think that was my mistake, as my mom ended up not wanting to drink much, and the sweet wines are SWEET. Like syrupy-sweet. Not just like a nice moscato-sweet. It was like drinking straight sugar. And the price was steep at $37 after tip. We sat on their patio, which is underneath Charley's patio, and were treated to serene river views. A local artist played some music too. They told us that price was never told to us (it was and multiple customers at the winery were told a lower price as well). The wine was also not good. The service was horrible, our party felt treated poorly and they were rude from the jump. I do not recommend this place the staff is rude, the wine is not good, and they don't tell you correct prices!

You can order wine by the flight to sample their offerings, as well as by the glass and bottle. I recommend doing a flight to determine what you like, then order some bottles to share or take home. Their lunch menu includes salad, soup, and sandwiches -- all with a creative touch -- as well as a children's menu. They also have delicious cake by Cake Bloom and Nightingale ice cream sandwiches. Merrie Mill certainly isn't boring! The staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely include Merrie Mill on your next winery tour.

Then I remembered what I was looking for, thinking of the last vineyard we visited, not pretentious. The smell of the earth mixed in with what farmland smells like is intoxicating. The service by the extremely friendly, next door neighbor like female that tended to us was the best. We came in about 30 minutes before the place closed and felt so bad for not being aware of that and instead of making it well known that they were about to close she welcomed us in as if we had the whole afternoon ahead of us. We only had a glass of wine each due to us coming in so late but the wine we had was so good we are taking a bottle with us. With so many positive reviews, how could we go wrong? They set us up in the cutest little private cottage and we're so sweet. Unfortunately that's where the charm begins and ends. We got five different wines to try. The bubbly was good but the rest were awful. No one in our group of ten found them even remotely drinkable. The one red was so acidic, my friend was up until 4:00am with an upset stomach from the acid burn. It's incredibly disappointing how bad the wines are given how cute the space is and how friendly the staff is. We went back to our Airbnb and opened our own bottles afterwards to cleanse our palattes.
