Everyone has to mask up, I get that, we don't all agree, but I understand why you want us to mask still. What I do not understand is why you don't put toilet seat covers in your restrooms? You realize everyone rubs their butt, gets pee, and fecal matter on it right? Follow that science! The worst scheduling I have ever experienced. They could care less about your time. Expect on average to see the doctor at least 45-1 hour after your appointment. The assistants don't seem to read your charts because each time I have gone they have tried to do something I wasn't there for. Then after finally seeing the doctor finding out that the assistant was supposed to have done some other test. Meaning go sit and wait for the test and then wait again for the doctor. I think they provide good care or I wouldn't put up with wasting so much of my time. There is no excuse for such poor scheduling. Even if you ask for the first appointment of the day you will still wait. Explain that. read more

Been a patient of Thomas Eye Group for a number of years. Always top notch service. Have seen Dr. Heicht, Dr. Kauffman, and saw Dr. Arnhart today for a small scratch on my cornea, where she fit me into her schedule and helped me quickly. I had previously written a review, but then TEG reached out to try and correct the issue, so I retracted my review. However, the issue has returned. I got a new pair of glasses this past year here. One issue I had was that during the exam, the doctor asked me several questions, including discussing my line of work (I'm a writer, and I use a computer all day). She said, "You need progressive lenses." I said, "OK" because she seemed very matter of fact about it. There was NO mention of cost. I have VSP, which I realize doesn't cover much on the actual glasses and lenses, but my bill, after insurance, was more than $400! But, OK. I didn't complain because I did "agree" to it. Three months later, I wrote a review about the scratches on my lenses, comparing them to glasses I've had for 5+ years that are virtually scratch free. TEG reached out and offered to replace them WITHOUT the progressive (for free). I loved my new glasses. But now, about 3-4 months later, they are all scratched up. And the screw came out of my frame. I've included a picture of my TEG glasses, compared to my old ones. I've used both pair every day. During their "use", they basically got treated the same. I wore them at my computer; occasionally in the yard or driving until I realized I had them on. But for some reason, my TEG lenses just do not hold up. read more

I waited almost 2 hours for an 8:30am appt. I should have read the reviews and scheduled somewhere else.

I am utterly appalled at the service I received at your Thomas Eye Group Roswell, GA location January 23rd while there at my appointment and on the phone afterwards when I called trying to get my prescriptions. Your service level has dropped from 10 to 0 since Dr. Lipsky left your practice and frankly I can see why he left. Now going forward to use Thomas Eye Group for me to get my eyes checked I have to see two people where before I only had to see one, Dr. Lipsky, how inefficient of you now or is this just a way to get more copays on your part? And I guess you don't care that people have to be there all day, as I was there for 3 + hours. Nick, who I saw first was great! but he was the only one, sad to say. Dr. Newman's assistant did NOT take down the notes that Dr. Newman prescribed for me eye medications, that of course they told me would be called or sent electronically to CVS, which is wasn't until I called several days later when I was using your web portal but never got a response. When I finally called the office I was given the run-around and then told, "oh don't use the portal it's terrible, they don't get or read the messages". I was also told an Office Manager would be calling me about my prescription mishap and my service issues, however, my CVS called me to tell me the prescription was ready and NO ONE from your company called to talk to me. TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE: I went to pick up my new eye glasses today and they were wrong! When I could not see through them I asked them to be checked. It seems that Dr. Newman or his assistant wrote down to double my prisms, where Nick said he was keeping the prism EXACTLY the way Dr. Lipsky had them, NO CHANGE, yet Dr. Newman changed it and frankly he NEVER even checked my prescription so WHY would he do that unless his assistance messed up AGAIN. I won't even get into the fact that I attempted to get in to see Dr. Lipsky before he left the practice and all your office staff did was make me leave messages and then not call me back for 2-3 days and dragged it out so it was too late for me to get into see him. Probably all because you wanted me to see your other doctors and not Dr. Lipsky. I should get a phone call back from them but frankly I doubt anyone will call me even though I emailed to their corporate offices and I will be calling again next week to attempt to get my eye glass prescription corrected without having to waste 3+ hours in their office and all the time on the phone as well. read more

It seems very strange that you cannot follow up with the doctor after your visit unless you schedule another appointment. The support staff just says they have emailed Doctor (Dr Lipskey in my case) and he would contact me on his discretion. And yes no call or email back. It was a routine eye exam for my kid and for just 1 query, whole of the visit was routed to Primary insurance instead of Vision which costed me everything out of my pocket whereas it could have been just $10. I would have appreciated Dr could have told me about the same thing offhand or at least given a courtesy call back or email explaining the process when I called multiple times. We called in ahead of time to explain we thought our daughter needed an eye exam because we felt she needed glasses and we wanted to verify they took our insurance. They confirmed they did take our insurance and that it would be a $10 co-pay. Since our daughter did end up needing glasses, they billed it to medical insurance, a $50 co-pay. And, as a part of the patient intake process, one of the documents you're quickly presented acknowledges that you're wiling to pay $75 to be told that you need glasses, which isn't billable to any insurance. So, a initial quote of $10 turned in to $125. When we called in, the billing person unapologetically let us know that the "determination of refractive state (which is needed to see if you need glasses and to get the prescription) is not covered by any insurance" and that they charge $75 to do this. So, we were quoted a $10 copay over the phone, which turned into a $50 copay when it was billed to medical insurance, and then another $75 to test for, and tell you, that you need glasses. read more

BEWARE !!! Fraud eye clinic . I visited Thomas Eye care in Rosewell and they are practicing insurance fraud. I visited Dr. Vidya Phoenix for my daughter's regular checkup . I have a VSP insurance. But they ran the bill through my health care insurance and asked me to pay in full towards the deductible. When I called and asked them , they said that code used by doctor was Medical examination and it does not go through VSP and added some wrong medical conditions to the visit. I have been earlier visiting Atlanta Eye Care for similar checkup and it always went through VSP. This is a cheating and fraud hospital and beware to not visit such fraud doctors and clinic. read more

I waited 1 hr 19 min to be called back to doc's office. If I wasn't in pain, I would have left. On my walk back, the technician asked how I was. I told her I was peeved bc my appt was over an hour ago. After she closed the door, she proceeded telling her peers what I said. I opened the door to stare at her. That is very rude. Two days after my appt, I get an email telling me I needed to contact my PCP and a neurologist for an MRI of my orbital area, brain, and sinuses. Could they have called me to explain WHY? When I called, the sweet lady apologized and said she'd have a clinician call me today. It's 8:48pm with no callback. This is such an awful way to deal with customers. I made an appointment with Dr. Newman several weeks ago. I received a text message on the day of the appointment that stated my appointment was for a different time from what I had originally scheduled. I called the office to ask which appointment time was correct and was told that they changed my appointment to be with an optometrist instead of Dr. Newman (an ophthalmologist) and they changed the time. I need to see an ophthalmologist because of a medical issue as well and they told me I could reschedule that separately but it would not be an eye exam and that I would need a separate appointment for that. After 20 years of using Thomas Eye Group I am finished with them. I used to tolerate their long wait times and bad customer services as other reviews have mentioned in reviews but not anymore. The first time I went here I waited almost 2 hours to be seen. I had an eye infection that needed to be treated otherwise I would have walked out. There was a sign when I checked in that stated they were short staffed and running behind. So I figured it was because of that. When I was called back I asked the lady if a lot of their staff was out and she seemed puzzled. She said "not really, we're just overbooked." I went back recently for a follow-up appointment. Again the sign was up saying they were short staffed and running late. There was no way I was waiting 2 hours again so I asked the lady at the front desk how far behind they were running. She seemed annoyed that I even asked and wouldn't give me a straight answer. She told me "we always have that sign up." She said I could check-in and chose to wait or reschedule if I wanted. I waited for 20 minutes and was just about to leave when I was called back. I had a few tests run and then had to wait another 45 minutes to see the doctor. I won't be returning to this practice. It seems like all they care about is scheduling as many patients as possible for billing purposes. They clearly don't respect people's time. I'm willing to wait a little bit because I understand medical emergencies can happen. However, based on what was said to me today, they are just unprofessional and engaging in bad business practices. read more

Single most unprofessional group of people that I have ever dealt with in my entire life. Their system was down so they couldn't actually find our insurance information which is in their system. They said if they can't find it then I can pay the full amount. Apparently getting my appointment done and them getting the information after THEIR down system comes up was not an option. For the first time in my entire life I had to walk out of the place and go elsewhere. I have never dealt with a more unprofessional group of people in my entire life Let me make it clear. 1) When I called to make appointment, I gave them ALL the insurance info they asked for. Is this not for them to verify coverage BEFORE I even walk in the door? 2) Patient system where you check in with driver's license and insurance card was working, so they had a scanned copy of both 3) My VSP number would be in their system from when bride and kids were there 4) They could not access system because it was down 5) Getting my appointment and them and accessing once THEIR system was working, apparently is not an option 6) Even if I purposely made an appointment knowing exactly when their system was down so I could lie to them that my insurance included vision, they still had my scanned driver's license with a home address where they could track me down The proverbial, can I give them a zero? read more

Awful experience, I went in to get an eye exam and glasses and left without receiving a prescription or new glasses, not to mention the drive home with dilated eyes without any eye protection (in broad daylight). After reporting this incident, I received a voicemail message saying it's my fault for not requesting the prescription. Honestly, i wasn't sure that anyone even tried to figure out what type of lenses I would need. My husband didn't realize we could just take the prescription elsewhere so let them charge our card. I called several hours later and they would not cancel or refund as the order was already placed which isn't true as our credit card wouldn't even be settled. She said I told your husband it's because you don't have insurance and we don't offer any discounts - very rude and unwilling to work with it's customers. This place is worse than an auto repair facility. I went in to purchase contacts. I'd already spent a couple of hours there the week earlier getting my exams, contact lense samples, etc. First, I had to check in before going to the waiting room. After waiting 10-15 minutes, I asked if someone was available to help me. I.just.wanted.to.buy.contacts. I didn't need a fitting or even someone who has any training. A body with a pulse that can hand me a box and accept payment is all I needed After waiting for what seemed like forever, I was called back. I came to Thomas Eye Group for the main purpose of getting Lasik this year but I needed contacts first. The long 1.5 hour wait wasn't the worst part. 1. The young lady who fit me for contacts labeled my contacts incorrectly! One eye has a stronger prescription. I'm a registered nurse so I know the difference between OD vs OS. Unacceptable that mistakes like that can happen in the fitting department. 2. The assistant working with Dr. Abril (who was great and performed a thorough exam) was supposed to go over the Dr's instructions for care but as soon as she dropped me off to be fitted for contacts, she took off (it was 5p but it would've taken literally 30 seconds -1 minute to reread the Dr.'s orders). I had to call the next day for these instructions because the assistant left me hanging, which delayed getting the product and care instructions I needed. 3. I had a procedure with the plastic surgeon here for a suspicious mole removal on my eyelid. I wasn't given pre-procedure instructions or post care instructions, I had to ask for these. Despite this, the plastic surgeon and his assistant were really nice and I felt comfortable with them. After the experience with the contact lenses and lack of care displayed by staff, I'm just too scared to return here for Lasik, a procedure that carries a higher risk if mistakes are made. read more

Very happy with this group. I've been a patient there for two years now. Dr. Abril is sweet and patient as she answers all your Eye Questions. She has found her calling in this field. I also really like Bethany who knows everything about contact lenses. Last year, she gave me "moral support" as I realized that it was time to switch up to multi-focal lenses.
