I cannot say enough good things about UrgentVet! I was dog-sitting my mom's dog (she's visiting…read morefrom Massachusetts), and she was swatted in the face by my cat, leaving blood in her eyes. Naturally, I rushed to another emergency vet hospital and waited for hours, only to be told the wait would get even longer due to incoming critical cases. I felt completely helpless, especially after they took the dog to the back and placed her in a crate, despite me asking them to bring her back if we had to wait. While still in the ER waiting room, someone recommended UrgentVet, and I am so grateful they did. I made an appointment online while still at the first vet, and 10 minutes later we were at UrgentVet--and seen immediately. From the moment we walked in, the staff was kind, efficient, and professional. Nick, the vet tech, was absolutely wonderful--compassionate, communicative, and thorough. Dr. Bowman and Nick worked together as a team, assessing the dog in front of me instead of taking her to the back, which made me feel included, informed, and reassured. We were out in under 45 minutes, and the entire experience was smoother, more transparent, and honestly far more compassionate than the first ER. And to top it off, the total cost was only $25 more than the base fee at the other hospital. UrgentVet has earned my trust, and I will be taking all of my pets here moving forward. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of quick, caring, and quality veterinary care.

I called the first 24-hour amimal care center and made the trip out. Turns out my little feline went into a dangerous diabetic shock. They advised me on the phone I needed to go to an Emergency Hospital for cats. I opted to come here first for evaluation and advise. I am glad we did! They gave our cat an IV with some dextrose to get him out of the danger zone but advised us he still needs to help. The staff at this ungodly hour were kind and sympathetic to our concerns. They were attentive and gave us clear instructions of what to do next. I absolutely 100% would recommend UrgentVet to anyone in critical emergency need. It may not be your last stop of the night, but they'll do whatever they can to get you the help you need or advice you may need. Thank you!

Today, I got the pleasure of meeting the new vet, Dr. Steele, she did an awesome job with communicating all information, was patient and thorough with my dog, and was so sweet! The feelings of devastation and unbelievable…read morepain due to Dr Jones' negligence in providing the appropriate medical care for my 4yr old rescue dog has left him with a death sentence. I went to Mercy Animal Hospital in Indian Trail as it was clean, the staff seemed friendly and I assumed my beloved animals would get the care necessary to keep them healthy. Well over a year ago, I began bringing up concerns about my dogs behavioral changes and that he was limping while walking, especially his front legs. My husband and I were repeatedly told his behavior change, limping and heavy panting were due to him being overweight. My concerns progressed over time with me requesting X-rays and seeking the answers to my dogs discomfort. We had him on prescription diet food prescribed by Dr. Jones and worked hard to get his weight down, which was difficult, due to his discomfort in his legs and heavy panting as he seemed to tire quickly. On one visit I was told he would do the X-rays I was requesting, but he was treating me (my anxiety) and not my dog by doing the X-rays as they were not necessary. He stated everything was due to my dog being what he perceived as overweight. Over the year we had many more visits including a dog sitter rushing him for an emergency visit to Dr. Jones when my poor dog could barely stand. We were met with the same diagnosis. With him being the medical professional, I felt he knew best. My husband and I were willing to do anything recommended by the professionals. Unfortunately, last week we rushed my dog into the Caroilna Veterinary Specialists in Matthews and were quickly informed that Max had kidney failure due to untreated Lyme disease. A disease that could have likely been treated with some antibiotics was, and is, killing my sweet boy slowly. This likely is what contributed to his weight gain as his body was in pain all this time, and his 4yr old body was deteriorating, so he was not very active. We were treating another issue by focusing on his weight and not the true underlying and serious concern which needed more immediate medical attention. My poor dog endured over a year of unnecessary pain, and now has a death sentence because he did not receive the proper and necessary medical care from Dr. Jones at Mercy Animal Hospital in Indian trail NC. I am beyond heart broken and cannot believe I have to say goodbye to my best friend over something that could have been prevented. The staff was friendly, the office clean and inviting, however the lack of medical care here is leaving my family with a hole in our hearts this holiday season. I'm still in shock and my heart is shattered.

Absolutely one of the most infuriating visits I've ever had--and I don't even want to come back to…read morePlantation. The reason? The front desk, specifically Paula. This woman has no business in customer service. I come in regularly for my pets, and she's consistently rude, condescending, and disrespectful. She interrupts, rolls her eyes, and acts like helping you is a burden. Today, I finally called her out on her attitude, and instead of apologizing, she argued with me. No remorse. No professionalism. Just pure defensiveness. Did she know I recorded the ENTIRE interaction for her manager? Probably not lol--but I'm tired of her gaslighting. This won't be a "he said, she said." She even claimed I had an issue with her--as if I'm the problem. I've read the reviews. I'm not the only one complaining about her. It's clear she hates her job, and frankly, she shouldn't have it. I don't have a problem with the other front desk staff--it's always her. To top it off, when I was in the middle of putting my dog down, she barged in to ask if I wanted to buy prescription food for my cat. Seriously? When we didn't buy it that moment, we overheard her talking to the staff in the back and saying, "I'm never preordering food for them again." That's not just rude--it's disgusting. She clearly doesn't even know how to use the software, constantly messes up client information, and I always hear her arguing with other customers. She even lied, saying my mother wanted her phone number back on my account--after I asked them to call me not her. This is funny, considering my mom switched vets BECAUSE of Paula. What's worst of all? She never once tried to apologize or fix it. I walked out saying, "Thanks for the apology"--because that's the only one I was going to get. You'd think with all the complaints geared towards her, management would take some sort of action. But hopefully now that I actually have the conversation, they can see for themselves what it's like to be a customer here. It's not pleasant. I'm not sharing this out of spite--I just want management to understand what it's like to deal with her from a client's perspective.
