I would put -5 stars. The service is bad. They need more training. I dinned in with a friend and they got our orders wrong, brought the toast when I was already done eating. I also ordered French toast to go and they had that wrong also. I called and Cody said he'd do a complimentary breakfast the next day due to them being closed by the time I would get off work.I arrived and the Owner didn't honor it. She also was very rude and degrading. She was loud and disrespectful. I was very disappointed and won't be back here and I'm letting all my coworkers from Bradford white to avoid this place. They just updated the inside of the restaurant for a more modern feel. I love looking at the old town photos. It really has a homey feel and makes you feel welcomed. Incredible staff, That are fast and professional. Reminds me of Russ's but even more of a family feel. No complaints on the food so far but the pie is a must have. read more

The place sits in a strip mall type environment, and does not stand out in anyway. When you go in, it is bare bones, functional with seating and counter. I would not let this impact your decision to eat here, or you will miss out on some good food. We have ordered from this place several times and it's always been takeout so my dining in experience is unavailable. I can only really account for the food that we order, which is the TK skillet and it is amazing. The to go plate is full with food and I would be surprised if one person can finish the entire thing in one sitting. It has great hashbrowns at the bottom And topped with egg and sawmill gravy with sausage. From my understanding, you can add additional meats such as bacon to the request, but we have not done so to date. I can't say it won't happen in the future though. Hungry for some breakfast food, I would definitely make this a stop. read more

This was a family run, laidback kind of place that was frequented by locals who seemed to be there every week. The food was hearty and good, and of course the appeal of having all day breakfast is hard to resist. I had the corned beef omelette, which was flavourful, but hard to eat as the thick corned beef was difficult for my knife to saw through. Their desserts looked delicious, and I could not resist their chocolate chip cookies. Their ambience is limited, typical diner style. I felt slightly uncomfortable when I first arrived, as there was a hush and lull in the conversation as the entire diner stared at me, as if trying to make sense of the strange Asian intruder, but the wait staff welcomed me warmly and I felt at ease afterwards. My husband and I went for breakfast at 10:30. There is not a sign by the door that says seat yourself or hostess will seat you, so we waited seeing they were busy. We stood by the door for 10 minutes without having anyone acknowledge us. I finally walked back to the register by the kitchen and asked if we wait or seat ourselves, she said to seat ourselves. We saw 1 table not cleared off yet, so we stood by that. And we waited... a young girl come over and wiped it down and apologized. We sat with our menus stuck to the wet table, and the waitress took our drink order. When she returned, I said we needed just a quick minute to decide. Then we waited.... And waited... until my husband found ants on his menu. We did not wait anymore. Disappointed. read more

It took a lot of convincing, but my fiance wanted some pancakes and potatoes so I gave it another shot. This visit went much better than the last few, and seems to be back to the way it was. Maybe there was a staffing change, because we didn't have to wait 20 minutes to place a drink order. I still won't order the Irish Omelette, my trust can't be regained that quickly. Our party of five sat down at a large table just inside the restaurant and were just getting situated for our Wednesday morning breakfast when a waitress stopped by and informed us that the table we were sitting at was reserved for "the farmers". She made us move, even though the table did not have a reserved sign. Most establishments place reserved signs on tables if the table is reserved, but I guess this establishment does not. I suppose none of us looked like "farmers" either. Too bad they just couldn't move the party call "the farmers" elsewhere in the restaurant, especially since none of them were there. Unfortunately making an 84 year old woman with a cane and people with young children who were already sitting there don't matter as much as "the farmers". Despite this being our third visit, other negatives included few visits from our waitress, and no refills on coffee (she never even asked). The food was okay. But the service left a lot to be desired. All of this being said, we'd just go to a different location next time and try something different. Bummer. read more

We were excited to pull in here after a long weekend of camping. A hole-in-the-wall breakfast place sounded like just what we needed. The decor is spartan and at 9am on a Sunday there were a few regulars in here. The waitress seemed a bit brusque with us, but nothing too bad. The wait for the food was more than I expected, especially since a table that arrived after us was served before us. From where I was seated I could watch the cook microwave plate after plate of food. Finally the food arrived, and no one was impressed. The potatoes and bacon and toast were fine. The omelette was passable. The pancakes were dry and the home-made biscuits and gravy were inedible. We were already regretting our decision not go to to Big Boy when the waitress came by to give a refill and ended up spilling scalding hot coffee over my buddy's hand. She was genuinely apologetic and did not charge him for the meal, but it was just kicking the experience while it was already down. read more

I am a regular here as it is near my work. I will admit there are some foods I wouldn't order from here (I.e anything Mexican ) however they do have great breakfast foods (my favorites are the French toast or sue's mess) The price is very reasonable, I never leave hungry or broker. They have great desserts and treats. Fresh baked cookies, cinnamon rolls & brownies. While it's not a place I would go out of my way to visit if your passing through and want some cheap and good this is the place to go. What a fantastic place. Just had the Mexican omelet and part of my kids pancake and a couple bites of my other kids biscuits and gravy. Tried to steal a bite of my wife's farmers omelet but she would not let me. Tables were all full when we arrived but one opened within 5 minutes. Live here, Hate to cook: Thornapple Kitchen is what they call a dive bar, without the bar. I like their homely food (eggs and potatoes, meat)...but knowing their portion sizes... I have to order a double hashbrowns and eggs... they cook what mamma used to cook, but just much less of it to turn a profit. If you are a traveling type... I suggest going nine miles north to caledonia at the shopping center plaza... Fortune Chef (yes, oriental name) Has a better portion of eggs and hashbrowns. read more
