By the way, his son Xiao, a graduate of Bastyr University's Acupuncture Master's Degree program, is also a part of the practice. Dr. Xue Zhi Wang is an O.M.D. trained in China. I have been his patient for over 20 years - first for finding better treatment for my lifelong asthma - which he ended up curing! I continued to see him to boost my immune system through acupuncture, herbs and QiGong and this took away aches, pains and kept colds, flu, etc. away. When cancer happened I used Western medicine for the cure and Dr. Wang's treatments for recovery. Dr. Wang later suspected my cancer had returned. This time he treated my early stage cancer (with my cancer doctor monitoring my progress) with herbs, acupuncture and guiding me through Qi Gong practice and a prescribed diet of lots of veggies, fruit and water. My cancer doctor kept watch and like me was so happy when I was cancer free. I have continued to be cancer free for over 20 years and consider Dr Wang a key member of my medical and overall health team.

I later received unexpected bills totaling $120. What disappointed me most was not the amount itself, but the response afterward. The clinic acknowledged that "false expectations" had been created, yet maintained that nobody had done anything wrong and that the entire financial responsibility remained mine. Future patients should obtain written confirmation of all expected out-of-pocket costs before proceeding with treatment.

I was wrong! At my first visit Dr. Cheng spent an hour and a half with me, taking in my history, family life, and health issues past and present. I expected the usual tongue and pulse check. I was very surprised when Dr. Cheng also checked my energy, my body posture and meridians. She is very unique in that she works with the body on many levels and so is able to bring about healing more quickly and more gently than other practitioners I have encountered. She was not only thorough but also very kind and made me feel very comfortable. The space is beautiful and calming and Dr. Cheng is very gentle in her treatment. I have serious health issues and I trust that Dr. Cheng will help me in improving them and bring me back into balance. I have always been skeptical about acupuncture and chinese medicine because of all the horrible…read morestories I have heard before. It was until I met Dr. Cheng, my view started to change. I had this cough for 3 months last winter due to our weather here in Seattle. I went to see an internal medicine doctor, ENT (Eye Nose Throat) specialist, taking extra vitamins, but things just weren't getting better. I got to meet Dr Cheng in November and found out about her impressive background - PhD in Molecular Biology and was a research scientist at Merck. A PhD in Molecular Biology & Chinese Medicine? That's interesting. I gave it a try and had a couple sessions with Dr. Cheng where she treated me with Chinese herbs and acupuncture. Dr. Cheng was able to communicate with me about the concepts behind Chinese medicine and acupuncture through a scientific approach. Most of the Chinese medicine could not do that. If you are like me, who likes to understand how things work and why they work, Dr. Cheng is excellent doctor. I will be going back to see Dr. Cheng for my acupuncture "tune-up" for sure!
