Don't know what it is called, but kids hang on it and then it spins.

Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Massive playground. Used to be playground and tennis court, but expanded and updated playground a few years ago. Great band shell. Lots of shade. Pavilion and bathrooms. Bathrooms can get very hot though in the summer. Farmers market there on Tuesdays. Good amount of parking too, although for one if the Friday night concerts, nowhere near enough.

    Park entrance.

THE PERFECT CHOICE! This park is an ice cold drink of lemonade on a hot day. We walked over from the Lillian Webb park and were immediately greeted by the shady trees and cool breeze. It was so nice that we took time to sit on one of the bench swings to just relax and take it all in. This park has a great cushioned play area for the kids and unique structures. This equipment appeared to be relatively new and it was very sturdy. Oh yeah, this is the equipment that I would sneak and play on when no one is looking. It was the bomb and immediately brought back fond memories of my days on the playground. This park also has picnic areas with grills and a nice covered pavilion that houses the bathrooms. There are plenty of seated areas to just relax and enjoy the outdoors. I appreciate the trash receptacles that are located throughout the park for visitor's convenience and of course that awesome amphitheater. This park plays host to the summer concert series that occurs every other Friday on the big stage. The next performance will be on Friday, July 18th at 7:30pm and you can check their community calendar for specific details. My hubby and I were able to survey the area to select a convenient parking spot and the ideal viewing area in anticipation of the big event. Now, all we have to do is patiently wait! Uggg! Easier said than done! ***This park gets five stars because I just noticed that the bathrooms are not only clean but...wait for it........AIR CONDITIONED!!!!! Glory to God! .

Beautiful tree lighting and SANTA is here! Impressed with how well run & punctual things are. And lights on tree spectacular. Santa showed up in horse driven carriage.

This park is by far my favorite in Gwinnett County because of the mixed use paved versus non-paved pathways, well-maintained, and overall cozy vibes. Like an outdoor museum. Even the restrooms are the best that I've seen in local parks. The location is very conveniently located with a Duluth entrance and Suwanee entrance. Plenty of parking. Even a public garden. Busiest times are after 11am on weekdays and after 10am on weekends. The best entrance is on the Duluth side off of Old Norcross Road. Great for taking a morning walk and then visiting the local cafes afterwards.

The park itself had ample parking spaces. And the facilities there were clean and well maintained. There were various trails that's away from the main paved path. These side trails were nicely shaded and eventually leads back on the main path. The historic farm structures like the main house, farmhouse, side house and its outhouse are still erect. That's the charm of this place with the well groomed flower garden that someone upkeeps. The old and new altogether. As you wander the park, you forget you're in the heart of Duluth where shopping and restaurants galore await you. Because while you're talking around (and trying not to sweat to death during the summer), you'll hear the summer insects buzzing. It literally reminded me of my childhood during the summers hearing the loud insects buzz away.

I read some of the info posted along the paths near the fountains and learned that Roswell actually used to be part of Cobb County. I had no idea and found that really interesting having just moved here to Georgia earlier in the year. They had some other facts about the area and history on that part of the river too. What was great about this park was that it was pretty dead on a weekday morning. A lot of other parks are usually busy at this time, since we are still going thru the pandemic of course. I think we only saw one other person on the trail (with plenty of room to distance) and one other person parked in a car off to the side of the trail. We enjoyed the seclusion. I liked everything about the park - the gazebo and fountain area, the view of the river down the trail, the historical value, etc. Just a nice place to exercise or go to relax. I hope to be back soon.

What a gem in the middle of Peachtree Corners!…read more Lately, our family has been spending more time outside and seeking out spots that are not packed full of people. I am so grateful that we found Simpsonwood Park, a wonderful space to enjoy nature close to home. The first few times we visited Simpsonwood, we parked ourselves in the large grassy area for picnics. We found a shady spot near the edge of the woods. We saw several families playing frisbee and other sports, but there was plenty of space for all of us. We really started having fun once we hiked the trail around the park. We walked a path of about two and a half miles. We took our time and looked around - probably took us about an hour. At times, the trail was a touch unclear, and I referenced the All Trails app to help make sure we were on course. There is a stream, lots of trees, wildlife, and the river. We saw lots of deer throughout the hike and made a point to keep our distance. The hike was relatively mild, but was narrow in some places, with definite uneven footing throughout. This hike definitely scratched the itch to be in the woods without driving to North Georgia. Look for "minis" while you hike (see pics)! Please note that every time we have visited, we have seen numerous dogs off leash. It is my understanding that it is not an off leash park, but we ran into many dogs that were not leashed. One even joined our picnic one day, minutes before an owner appeared. So if you do not wish to be in the presence of dogs or if you have dogs that are offended by the presence of other dogs, this may not be the spot. All of our encounters have been with friendly dogs. We have never had trouble finding a parking space, but I wouldn't say spaces are unlimited. There are park restrooms available near the parking lot. This park is a great opportunity to spend some time soaking up sunshine and stretching one's legs. Enjoy!

We ended up hiking about 6 miles in nice shaded area on the trails. Some rocks and roots, so you must be careful. Relatively flat with a few small hills. The big downside is there are no trail markers or signs, so having a person in your group that is familiar with the area is necessary. We had two people that knew the trails, so zero markings was not a problem for us. Great outdoor area. Currently (4/23) there is construction of new water treatment plant along the river. Not many people here, so is sort of a hidden gem. Every one in our group enjoyed the hike. Lots of free parking. Restrooms available, but they were so-so inside. Definitely worth a stop. Also CRNRA Jones Bridge unit is across the river for additional hiking trails and is very well marked for easier navigation.

The layout is fun and the park itself is beautiful, especially in the winter when the leaves are thin and you can actually see the baskets through the trees. That said, the course could really benefit from clearer signage. Several pads weren't well marked, and we even had to skip a hole because we couldn't figure out where it started or ended. Since we only had time to play about half the course, we found ourselves spending more minutes navigating than throwing. I can't imagine how tough it must be in the summer when everything is fully leafed out -- it's probably like searching for a needle in a haystack. Still, it's a solid course in a great park, and with better markings it could easily be a five‑star experience.

The park itself had several playgrounds and I loved they were padded. The kids had a blast on slides, swings and running around in the wide open space. The bathrooms were clean which always makes things even better. The kids had a blast playing with all the other kids and this is definitely a playground I'd come back to visit.
