She explained to me how she was going to clean my brows based on the natural shape I already had, and was also extremely fast but precise. My left eyebrow is extremely sensitive so I appreciate that I didn't have to be in pain for long! I've been coming to this place for about a year now. Usually I tell whoever helps me out to just clean up my brows and leave hair for growth if necessary. All of the employees seem to do a good job, however the only times I have noticed my eyebrows too thin or too short is when the owner does them. I love you guys and I was so excited to return after the quarantine. However I was in yesterday and it seems like your staff isn't taking the mask requirement seriously. Half the staff in the store didn't have masks on, or were wearing them incorrectly (it goes over the mouth and nose). My mask is to protect you and your mask is to protect me, so it was really concerning to see people not taking it that seriously. First time here, threading done by Nivi! She did a fantastic job and beforehand explained what she was going to do/how much she would thread and checked in with me after each eyebrow was done. The studio also followed the social distancing guidelines well, the 2 chairs were placed outside the studio with proper distance between each of them and after each customer, the chairs were disinfected and cleaned off! I have been going to this place for about 4 years for threading, my skin is too sensitive for wax and it was the best in town. But lately it's been more of a miss than a hit. Aneta is the best- but she is so busy she is never there for threading. Rafida was my go to but one day was just gone. All of the ladies I build a rapport with seem to just leave... one day they are not there. The turnover is horrible. So you never know who you are going to get when you go in. My last five visits every one was new, and you can tell they are learning when they work on you. They go slow, which hurts more, and each one has messed up my brows. I ask for clean up and they have either taken too much out, make the gap too wide, I lose the shape I had, or my eyebrows are uneven. My latest visit was probably my last unfortunately. The girl was new and tore my skin in two places. Aneta, I know you are busy but please invest time in the new girls so they know what they are doing. I loved my brows. I went in after work on Thursday and was out in 15 mins. May was gracious, friendly and efficient. My eyebrows are amazing. This was my first time getting my eyebrows threaded and I was kind of nervous. I have to say the whole experience was amazing. From the ambiance of the establishment to the technique of staff, it was awesome. My eyebrows have seriously never looked better. When I would get them waxed I often found myself suffering from burns or rashes (I have sensitive skin). Threading was really fast and did not hurt. Who knew it was possible to get your eyebrows shaped without pain! You also cannot beat the price which is half of what I paid for waxing. I had messed up my eyebrows earlier that morning and was DESPERATE for help. I found Aneta on yelp and I'm so glad I did. She took me right away and was wonderful in a lovingly honest mother sort of way. She recommended a tinting and I had nothing more to lose so I went for it and I'm grateful. She fixed my shape and darkened my brows so I no longer fill them in. I will absolutely be going back! The salon is brightly lit and relatively small but you receive a genuine experience. I've been coming to this place since I moved to San Diego, for about 4 years now! I've never had a bad experience here, but today I had an amazing experience! On the Apple Maps the store says that it closes at 7pm, so I drove about 15 minutes to get my eyebrows threaded. Unfortunately, the app time is wrong and they actually closed at 6pm, so I caught the two workers right after they closed up shop. I was sad that I missed them and asked if they knew of anywhere I could get my eyebrows done, because I have a morning flight for a friends wedding and won't have time to come back tomorrow. Evaan decided that she could open the shop for me and take me as the last client of the day and it made me soooo happy. Definitely on the pricier side at $13 for an eyebrow threading. After hearing such good reviews of this place, I was hoping I'd have a great experience but unfortunately, I did not. We arrived here at around noon on a Friday and they had really good business. Parking was a little rough to find, but if you circle around long enough you should be able to find a spot. The girl I had was named May (I think) and she was quick and to the point. The whole eyebrow threading was maybe 10 minutes max. I've only gotten my eyebrows threaded once before and this time definitely hurt more than the first time but I'm not sure why. At the end, my eyebrows weren't as defined and clean as I wanted it to be. She also threading one brow a little thinner than the other and told me to "let the other one grow out" so it was even. I found that to be an odd comment since it should have been even in the first place! Overall, this place is average but I was expecting more based off the glowing reviews. For a $14 eyebrow threading, I expected much more! I might return one more time to see if I came on an off day, but I won't be coming here frequently most likely. read more

I want to give two stars because I acknowledge that mistakes happen, but when I got there, I was quickly ushered to a seat and she just started working on my brows. Maybe I should have spoken up, but she didn't even ask me what I wanted with my eyebrows (ie natural, thick, etc). The main reason I am reviewing is because she cut one of my hairs too short. I am going to start using castor oil and really hope it grows back since it was so close. I have recently moved to San Diego, and since there is no Beauty by Thread in San Diego, I decided to give this place a try. You will either come out looking like a beauty or a beast. And not the good type of beast either. Some employees are hostile but they know how to thread, one lady is super nice with the best threading skills (I don't know her name but she has really nice eyelash extensions!), and just stay away from the owner. The workers are so kind! They cater to the exact style you want for your brows (without question) and are amazing at their job. Gone here a few times and I've never left disappointed. Also, they have great eyes and can tell when your eyebrows are just a little uneven. The location doesn't have a lot of parking, but there's usually a few spots open. After hesitation, I feel that it is necessary to leave a comment. I will first mention the positives. I went there on a busy day and was pleased when it didn't take long at all and it still felt like they took their time on each client. While waiting I noticed the owner was speaking to another customer she was attending & she appeared friendly-ish. I also appreciated her asking for feedback afterwards. Now onto what I did not appreciate, call me picky but it hurt a lot and I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for more than 5 years now consistently. My eyebrows themselves were terrible, she left them so thin and shortened the length of the eyebrows by a lot. Both eyebrows look different from the ends and from the beginnings. One is thinner at the end... nonetheless I didn't say a thing bc I am not going to make a scene when there is other people there. Lastly, while side hearing I hear the owner tell this mom (who brought her daughter with her) "where does she go to school?" When the mom answers the owner quickly states that her kids "would never" go to a public school. It was giving entitled. She continued about it too.
