I came here since the beginning when Preet took over this place. Preet did a great job on the brows and of course she got busy doing other things she offers. She started hiring other ladies and they were just ok, well I came in 2 weeks ago to the young girl working there and granted there was no one there but me she rushed through and I've never had my brows done badly EVER (ESP since they are pretty easy to do) just a clean. This inexperienced wanna be took off hairs at the front of my brow leaving it uneven and noticeably thinner than my other brow. I didn't look at in the store, since it's an easy clean up. When I got to the car, I was horrified and I'm still paying the price. Ya if Preet is available then it's fine, other than that leave so you don't leave with horrible ruin brows from a youngster trying to be cool. I've been coming here to get my eyebrows threaded for about a year now. I really enjoy coming here, their customer service is great! Preet is super friendly and so is everyone else - GREAT ATMOSPHERE! I am comfortable with having anyone thread my eyebrows, they all do a great job at cleaning them up. Walk-in's are first come first serve just like any other hair/beauty shop. If you are crunched on time or want someone specific I definitely recommend making an appointment, this way you won't have to wait, they are usually pretty busy - which is a good thing! I found this place and after reading reviews, I'm glad I did! I went on my lunch break to get my brows threaded and it was my first time and I'll definitely be going back. They turned out perfect, didn't hurt, my skin didn't turn super red, and so far so good on not breaking out! I would've been in & out in like 10 mins if they weren't having issues with their credit card machine but nonetheless still fast. The first time I visited this place was about a year ago, and I made my second visit today. I had been plucking my eyebrows myself since my first visit, then I decided to grow them out and get them reshaped professionally. I was very happy with my first visit, although I'm not sure who did my brows. This time Meena helped me. She was nice and professional and patient with me when she asked me to hold up my eyebrow for her. She took me from caterpillars to nicely shaped medium arches in less than 10 mins. They aren't the most enthusiastic workers but they are polite and professional. For each visit, they weren't too busy and this second time I was helped right away. $9 for threading is a very reasonable price. I have no reason to give less than 5 stars. I wish I can give this place a 3.5 stars but since that is not an option, a 3 it is. I have mix feelings about this place. Sometimes I like to go here to have my eyebrows threaded by Preet and sometimes, I'm too scared to go back. When Preet does my eyebrows, sometimes she does a really good job and sometimes, i feel as though she rushes and it always messed up my eyebrows! Its happened about maybe 3 times? Once, she accidentally took off a bit of my tail on my right eyebrow, and so my eyebrows were uneven. Ever since then, I've been trying to grow out my tail :( . Another time, she made my eyebrows uneven by threading off the top left inner corner of my eyebrows and so one was higher and one was lower. It's honestly hard to explain because then there are times where my eyebrows are amazing and perfect! so I'm kind of torn. I wish she would spend more time on her customers instead of rushing through to get everyones eyebrows done because yea, this place does have many walk-ins and so there is a line of people waiting but a girls eyebrows are important! Some of you may ask why i wont go to another place. well thats because i have no idea where else to go! and it's only once in a while that Preet rushes, so when i do get them done, i pray that its slow and that she does a good job. It's either i get my eyebrows done and risk it, or rock a bushy eyebrow and thats a no no for me. If there are any recommendations out there let me know! Preet is personable however is not professional. I have experienced long waits (despite making appointments a week in advance), her having conversations instead of focusing on my brows, as well as her taking sporadic breaks whenever she feels like it (notwithstanding a full waiting room). When she is in a hurry, she is not as attentive. My eyebrows have fallen victim to her sloppy work ethic. I have been a regular customer for the past four years, but after a litany of subpar experiences I decided to move on to Garara Palace, where I have received nothing but excellent service. Just a warning to any new timers, ask for Preet and wait for her. The older ladies in the store are not as great as Preet and MAY ruin your arch and/or make your eyebrows thinner (this is from personal experience). Now back to the review, don't get me wrong Preet does an amazing job when she's attentive and not flustered by various phone calls or the line of customers. Similar to the previous review, there were days where my eyebrows did not turn out that great and there were days when they were amazing. She's threaded my eyebrows while talking on the phone twice, and oh man the results were bad. When she talks on the phone and threads it make me nervous because, threading while talking on the phone is a crazy task. All in all, she has helped fixed my arch that the previous lady messed up. The size of this store is pretty small. I feel like I'm practically sitting on someone's lap when I'm waiting in line. I've been twice and on my most recent visit on Sunday, August 2nd I got there around 10:08 (they opened at 10) and there were already 3 people ahead of me. Just goes to show you how awesome these guys are. The people I've had that have threaded my eyebrows have been meticulous and really took their time to shape and clean my eyebrows. Before coming to this place, I used to get my brows waxed. I'm one of the many they get irritation after waxing so I was very excited when my friend raved about this place and told me to go. I made an appointment with Preet ahead of time just to make sure I don't wait too long. When I got to the salon, there was this lady that told me to sign in. I thought, ok, she just wants to make sure the clients are here. Nope. When it was my turn for threading, I told her I actually made an appointment with preet. She then said that Preet had an emergency. I was pretty surprised and disappointed. I would think that a professional establishment would at least call their clients and tell them that their requested esthetician wouldn't be coming in. Since I was there and in need of getting my brows done, I had the lady do my brows. They were subpar. My brows still felt bushy, but I was so disappointed already I just decided to take it and leave. I love getting my eyebrows done here. I go to school in San Diego and I only come back home for breaks but I always make sure to come to Preets to get my eyebrows done. I have tried multiple places in San Diego and in Sacromento/Elk Grove area and none of them compare to the price and quality of Preets. I would've given this place a 5 star, however, I've noticed that they would charge you different prices at different visits. I remember it being 9$ then 10$. Which is why I'm giving them a 4 instead. I went to Preet at the recommendation of my friend, Eddie. I was visiting Sacramento from So Cal and Eddie called me a few days before my arrival and said do not get my eyebrows done until I was in town. I am glad I waited. Preets salon is nice and she was able to do my brows as a walk in. I left the salon with amazingly groomed eyebrows and will make it a point to go back next time I am in town. I previously gave this place a 5 and I feel it is a 5 but today my experience was horrible. Note to self do not go in Monday or Tue. in the early opening hours. The girl that was doing eye brows off the back gave me the vibe that she did not like me. I am a pretty nice person. I told her I wanted a full face and she asked if I had an appointment? I did not, I said, to her no, sorry I have been here about 5 times and each time I have called the man has said your're fine, just come in ( there is a sign on the wall that states you need an appointment). Which is fine, their business their rule. She said she has been there for 6 months and just her because I said, usually I come in Mon or Tue. and I have not been told but no problem. She said "oh I must be trippin' then. I said, you know what I have it flipped, I come in Thurs. And Fridays. She finally stopped. Durring my service she had me hold my face but could not communicate where, just said, hold(with attitude) I asked what part of my face and should I use both hands? and she just grabbed my hand and put it where she wanted it. She was rough. She made small talk with the previous client but not me which is fine but she her offered Aloe Vera ( they always offer it to me) I had to ask her if I could please get aloe vera and that made her mad as well. 10 years later and I still go to Tina to get my hair cut! I travel from the East Bay to Walnut Creek to get my hair done. Tina is amazing - she knows how to cut thick, coarse hair and shape it. She takes her time and does a great job! She listens and give honest feedback.. she would rather refuse a treatment than do something that will damage your hair. My whole family gets their hair cut by Tina! My aunt had really thin, brittle hair and wanted color but Tina came up with a step by step plan to get her hair healthy before coloring. I went in to get henna done a couple of weeks ago. There is only one associate who does it. The first time she did it, the henna was done nicely. I followed her instructions but unfortunately the very next day, the henna had faded. I have had henna done before and knew that henna is supposed to be vibrant in color the next day and last a few weeks. I went back the very next day, showed Preet and said that her associate will be in. When she said that, I assumed she was coming in to work, not to just re-do my henna. She came in, re-did my henna and she left. Again I followed her instructions but as I was looking at her work, the henna did not look right. I thought "wait until tomorrow, it'll look better". I was wrong. Her henna work was AWFUL! The worst part, I had to walk around, embarrassed with this horrible work on my hand for two weeks. I would of been ok with a refund but she made sure I paid for her coming in on her day off to re do the henna. Before the hair, makeup, and Instagram fame there she was, a lovely lady named Preet working in a small room at a salon called Hair Obsession. I've been her client since those days. I walked in as a little teenager with my mom. We found out about this place through my cousin. And since then, many other threading places opened up however my family and I stayed faithful to this location because of the great service. I am now about to turn 21 and all these years, I've witnessed the growth in this business that Preet is running. Literally saw it from the little room, to the new orange paint, to the new flooring, the addition of fancy chairs, and lovely decoration. I will continue to support them in any way possible because the staff feels like family. Even when Preet hires new people, I can trust them with my eyebrows because they ARE the professionals and Preet wouldn't hire someone if she didn't like their work. Everyone in there is very friendly and considerate. I go there every 2 weeks or so. I've grown up getting compliments on my eyebrows and it's all because of Preet and her staff.
