I was looking forward to my appointment with Anjna. We had confirmed the appointment earlier in the week. She essentially "no showed" the appointment. I showed up 20 minutes before my appointment. She messaged me back 15 minutes after my appointment time to say that she was sick. I found this to be extremely unprofessional, as she could have communicated the cancelation ahead of time and saved me the trip downtown. I was happy with her work during my first/last appointment several months ago. At the time, I felt she was a little pricey but worth it. HAIR PROGRESS: I got my hair done by Anjna on Thursday (11/15/2018) and today is Thursday (11/29/2018) exactly two weeks from my consultation. During the hair dye process Anjna told me to not wash my hair until Sunday. However, I wanted a good result so I waited till Monday to wash it. I have been washing my hair every 4-5 days now just to make sure the color last. Sadly, I paid $450 for my color to wash away in TWO WEEKS! HAIR COLOR: ONLY LASTED A WEEK! My toner and the top coat FADED AWAY! Now its only bleached hair that is showing. Its such an ugly color now! The yellow and my black hair DOES NOT GO TOGETHER and Looks like a mess! Loves my hair when she did it freshly. But when the hair is styled and curled, who doesn't like their hair? She often gives me an example of getting a purse form Walmart vs MK! Guess What, I just got my hair done from a place that is not WORTH IT! At least Walmart is good for customers and so is MK but NOT this place! I was researching almost every hair dresser in Sacramento and that's how I found Anjna on yelp. I only wanted to know the process and prices at first before committing to anything and Anjna told me "Price quote is done during consultation " (refer to pictures for text message evidence). I went there knowing we were only having a CONSULTATION. However, when I got there, without consenting she told me she booked me from 10:30am till 3pm. Made me sit on the hair dressing seat and told me the whole process while brushing my hair and straightening it and then told me the price. She told me it would cost me $600! She told me she is pricey but she does hair better than almost all of the people. Feeling pressured I said I don't have money on me and she said I can Venmo her after going home. I thought that was a normal price that she charges and said okay. The hair due process: She proceeded to dye my hair. Told me she is a balayage specialist. And when she washed my hair: A) the water was colder than a titanic ocean. B) the water went all over my back. My hair was washed twice (as per process) and the back got soaking wet twice as well. Combing: Ok I sat back on the chair and she started combing my hair (she back-combed my hair prior to the process). I AM NOT KIDDING, the way she combed my hair literally caused me pain at level 9! I was in so much pain that my tears fell down my eyes. Then she proceeded to ask me, "oh did I splash water on you?" To that I responded, "no these are my tears from your combing." Well, again, she was super sweet and told me how rich and famous people book her. Also told me that insta-famous people are always booking her. The color came out really nice but the professionalism was not there at all. Professionalism: When people are running a business they are expected to serve their clients as well as they can. I hate to say this, but Anjna is not professional. Please look at the way she talked me. I don't bargain and I absolutely hate drama. I tried to stay professional but she started bashing me for no reason. When I asked her to have an open and professional communication with me, she responded with sarcasm. Verdict: 0/on my first ever hair dye experience. This is was a huge learning lesson. She venmo-ed me back $150 so in total I paid $450. Unless you are really rich and insta-famous, I don't think us normal clients can be up to her "worth". Would NOT recommend. read more

Ever since I found Angie, she is my go to hair dresser. I am always satisfied with the results whether it's just a haircut or color, she always goes above and beyond for me! 1000% recommend her for everybody! One of the most disrespectful person I interacted with. Angie who also goes by name of Anjna Samphley owner of Dolled up by Angie. I booked her online through yelp/ vagaro website the booking link on Yelp for makeup and hair styling. I then texted her just to make sure the appointment is confirmed because I did receive confirmation emails. I will attach the texts we exchanged and her number is the one on Yelp. She returned my text saying that I no longer do makeup and all. So I responded that no problem I got confused because on Yelp and online booking makeup , hair styling are listed. I booked an appointment through the Yelp system and received a confirmation email verifying my appointment. The next day (four days prior to my appointment) I called and left a voicemail for Angie explaining what I wanted as it was different from what the system allowed me to book online. I asked that if it was a problem to call me back and left my number. No return call, so I assumed it was fine. I arrived at my scheduled time to find that Angie has no idea who I am or that an appointment was booked as she said she doesn't do the Yelp booking system. I tell her I called and left a voicemail four days ago as well. She confirms her number is the same one I called and on Yelp, but then says she hasn't checked her phone. Angie says I could text her to set up an appointment later. NO. If I called, left a voicemail days ago, but that person confirms they haven't checked their phone, why would I trust that it'd be checked later via text? Angie, you seem nice, but if you're running a business through your phone, not checking your phone or returning a call is one sure fire way to lose costumers. Also, if you have multiple people arriving and you're not aware of their appointment (as you told me), you need to find out the reason why and correct it. It's not acceptable to tell someone you asked Yelp to remove the booking system six weeks ago and not verify that it has indeed been removed. I will not be returning to book an appointment. The one interaction I had was very unprofessional and off putting. read more

Angie is a talented young woman who loves to work with hair! She is extremely sweet and laid back, which I like. Today was my first day meeting her and I had my hair cut/trimmed and colored. I was a bit nervous about having someone new trim my hair. She trimmed it without cutting off too much, and knew exactly how to cut it to make my hair achieve the full-look that I was going for. Being the control freak that I usually am, I originally was going to tell her how I wanted my hair cut; however, when I saw the way she was holding the scissors and how she handled my hair through the combing and trimming process, I could already tell that she knew what she was doing. (There's just a way that someone handles the scissors that you could already tell that it may end up being a bad cut unless you do some INTERVENTION - I didn't get that feeling with her and I was right!) My hair coloring process also went well. I originally had a copper/blonde ombré and wanted a spicy, bold, bright-red/copperish color blend.
