This place is a bit like that but mixed with the early days of Etsy. "Designers" can rent an 8x8 or bigger "storefront" to showcase their unique designs. Mostly stuff reclaimed from decades gone by and redesigned with some kind of flair. There's generally a theme to the different storefronts: women's vintage clothing, funny and lovey-dovey sayings regarding dogs and cats, plastic and silk flowers, dairy and farm, sarcastic sayings, whiskey barrel designs for the men dragged into this place, etc. My wife and I found a whimsical chip and dip bowl. It was nice and will replace one of the blander versions we have at home. Truthfully, there were quite a bit of items that were perfect housewarming gifts and gifts for people who have specific decor tastes. It's also a decent place to just kill some time browsing through all the stuff people have created to get your own creative juices flowing.

The shop itself is in part of a large building, so you need to follow the hot pink signs to find the entrance and their parking lot. I'd checked the business out online and discovered that it's a non-profit charity, so I brought in a bag of items to donate to the store. I was overwhelmed by the space. There's so much to see and a bunch of different rooms. I walked around in circles because it was just too much for my brain. I know I missed areas but I had to give up due to input overload. If you've got time, Upscale Rummage is a great place to visit and shop. It's always nice to know that your money will be doing good in the community.

All items in the bins are a flat price based on the day of the week, Fri $10 - Sat $8 - Sun $6 - Mon $4 - Tues $2 you then decide if you want the item at $10 on Fri or take a chance to see if it's still there for $2 Tues. The Mundelein Salvation Army was my go to thrift store for many years. I have found many amazing…read moreitems here over the years. Sorry to say that it's not the same anymore, as it's gone downhill during the past few years. A recent disappointment has been the reduction of the senior discount from 25% to 10% on Wednesdays. It can be difficult to navigate inside the store since large clothing racks with new items are left within the aisles, obstructing the racks and making it difficult to shop. Although the clothing is supposed to be sorted by size, it is so mixed up that the organization system has been rendered useless for the most part. Overhead lights are flickering in several areas of the store which makes me feel uncomfortable and gives me a headache. The fitting rooms are dirty and unwelcoming, and I dread using them. I have to wonder what's happened to all the great items I used to come across regularly, since now so much of what's in the store feels like it's been picked over. Prices tend to be a bit more reasonable than some other thrift stores, but the selection has been sub par as of late. They used to have a nice selection of jewelry items, but they no longer carry jewelry. I used to see nice quality handbags, shoes and clothing in the store, but now that's rare. I can't help but wonder if the better donations are going somewhere else now.
