Don't go here for a ski boot fitting, They don't follow all the steps for boot fitting that the competent boot fitters do. In addition they aren't good enough in temperament or knowledge to stick to their guns on boot size recommendations. They also don't know enough about boot form fitting, hv va regular, or liner compression. Also, they have an extremely stingy return policy. 12 days to get a refund, 13 to 30 days to get a store credit, too bad after that. read more

As mentioned in my previous review we are renting skis at Williams this year to avoid the indoor crowd at Wilmot. Due to demand you have to book 2 weeks ahead of time, which is fine for those who plan ahead...but the issue is that you can only have 1 booking at a time. I've been staying on top of on our skiing dates and booked a few different appointments for future. One of the staff members didn't tell me you could only have 1 res at a time and it ended up canceling my order for next weekend (and there's now a wait list of 40+ people). So now we have no choice, but to go inside Wilmot to rent skis which is exactly what we were trying to avoid. Being able to make just 1 res at a time also makes this a useless service for those of us who want to ski often. It's time to upgrade the computer system and make this a more user friendly experience! read more

While I was here purchasing my set of skis I was told from the start that I could get a free wax with ONLY purchasing the skis, I called and spoke to 2 employees over the phone and in person at checkout right before I checked out to confirm this and they confirmed that yes I could do this. They have this posted on there screen at checkout but proceeded to tell me I had to pay money for it after the fact of him telling me he noticed my bindings were from REI and not them, he was acting upset and talking poorly to me because of me buying the exact boots and binds cheaper from another ski shop then them. I do not appreciate this behavior coming from a business that I have spend over 500 dollars with. read more

Very disappointed, We came here to purchase our first ever set of skis and we were told from the start by two employees in the store and over the phone twice that we would receive a free wax and edge for the life of the skis which is also presented to you on the large tv right at checkout that states free wax and free edge for life of skis by just purchasing SKI'S, the employee then told me that you have to purchase the entire skis set up and talked to me in a manner that made me feel bad for shopping at another ski shop, then had me pay much more for a wax instead of being free. Coming from a business sales individual that is such poor skills for talking to customers, trying to get good reviews and sell products. This is false advertising and needs to be taken care of so there is clarification for all customers instead of being scammed. read more

I've lived in Highland Park for 10+ years and feel ashamed that I never stepped foot in William Ski and Patio until this week! On the first warm day of the year, I couldn't resist getting a sneak peek and some great inspiration for my deck. This is where you go for high-end, top-quality patio furniture. You'll find familiar brands you can trust here, like Brown Jordan, Tropitone, and Gloster. There's no need to head to The Mart for your shopping trip, because there's a good chance you'll find what you're looking for right here. I spotted some sofa sets for approx. $9K, and random seating for around $500. Though my budget keeps me shopping at stores with lower-priced options, I can tell you after sitting and sinking into some cozy and fluffy cushions, that shopping here is worth every hard-earned dollar. Though I didn't experience it first hand, it's my understanding this is your ski headquarters during the winter season. You can rent and care for all your ski equipment and purchase ski gear like coats and sweaters, etc. I also know they have a ski club. Interesting fact. Depsite being an avid skier that lives 10 minutes from Williams, I will never shop here again because the the way the sales staff treated me when I tried to purchase a pair skis for my wife here here. The employee was extremely rude for no reason, and told me he wouldn't install my wifes boots on the $700 pair of skis I was trying to buy because her boots were too old. His approach was completely unprofessional, I walked out, drove to Viking ski shop and of course they sold the same skis to me (for a better price!!) and installed bindings with my wife's boots. I will never spend another single dollar at Williams ski shop. read more

Williams has been in business since the 1800s. They started with buggy tops, then went to awnings, then to patio furniture. Skis go well with patio furniture as the are both seasonal. Their ski service department was set up by an Austrian Master Ski Builder. Racers and jumpers have depended on the for over 60 years. There are employees in sales and service that have been there for over 30 years. The only shop that compares in our area is Viking. You can't go wrong with either. read more

Purchased new skis a month ago. The top part of the ski started to come apart immediately after one ski trip, but Williams blames us saying that we either ski with our "feet too close together" or ski "too hard". None of the others in our group on same this ski trip had any issues with their skis. Clearly, this pair of brand new skis is defective. Do not recommend them. They will not back up the products they sell. read more

This place is known as Williams Ski & Patio it's even their website address, but I didn't want to create a Yelp double entry. Perhaps Yelp will correct it since if you go here looking for furniture of the indoor type, you may have wasted your time. Although, I will say that some of their stuff is off the quality ahem and pricing that you could put it indoors. A real nice selection from the very traditional stuff that you see outside to more contemporary looking teak and metal. The modern stuff looks like what you'd expect to see at a Malibu beach house, Barbie would approve. In addition to patio furniture they carry supplies to keep your deck in tip top shape, we needed to clean and seal our new decks my husband wanted to use this brand called Penofin and these guys are one of the few places that carry it. They also do repairs, from restoring to re-strapping. This is one of the x'pensive Lucy places, not going to kid you about that, but when you're ready to make an investment in some of the good stuff, this is a place to go. Maybe I'll be ready next year, for now I'll keep my eclectic stuff, hey it's a little mismatched, some of it was CL and near and dear to my heart are the chairs I bought off of Krsna when they were downsizing. All in due time, because I'm not charging patio furniture, well I will for the miles, but it needs to be one of things that you pay off immediately. read more

Be careful when dealing with this place. They attached a manufacturers guarantee to my purchase when it was not the manufacturer's product! When I went to have the material replaced according to the guarantee, they said it wasn't the guarantee's product. Nice business of attaching other people's guarantee to their sales and not needing to honor them. read more

Extremely bad service. My 2 children have been skiing with Snowflake club for years. Last year we paid membership and got seasonal rentals and they were barely able to go for a couple of trips because they were sold out. This year 2021, once again trips are released and apparently are sold out within 1 hour. The club sells memberships and seasonal rentals to way more that they can accommodate and then cannot provide the actual trip to ski. Very disappointed. read more

Shout-out to Brett for the most stellar boot-fitting. A number of area shops weren't even willing to do the fitting since I got my boots directly from the manufacturer. After 2 seasons of foot and shin discomfort I brought my boots to Brett for a proper fitting. He spent all the time to fit them properly, talk skiing and leave me a very satisfied customer. I just got back from Utah and my boots were fantastic. They also did a nice job tuning up my skis. Thanks again Williams Ski and Brett. read more

I have been shopping at Williams for 10 plus years now. I have purchased ski boots, ski bindings, accessories and more from them. Every time I have been in they have been helpful and the staff has been great. The reason for my post is I recently rented skis for my daughter for a day. The gentleman that helped us (I didn't get his name) was very helpful and took the time to fit my daughter properly. When I returned the skis he even remembered my name. Customer service goes a long way with me and I will certainly return to purchase or rent again! read more

Bought patio furniture here and people were a real hassle after i bought it and wanted a change in pick up date. Some kid, maybe manager or owner, seemed so put out by a simple change in order. Next time i buy over priced furniture it will be at Chalet or better yet Costco. read more

Purchased a set of wicker furniture from WS&P and regretted ever since. Staff, especially Judy, has no regard for customer satisfaction. WS&P was late with our shipment, never called and when cushions arrived with wrong fabric we were told it was what we ordered, which it was not. But because they had incorrectly noted the incorrect fabric on the order they said take it or leave it. A word of caution on seasonal ski/snowboard rentals - we rented a seasonal snowboard for my son, who was participating in Snowflake, and were told it would be no problem should he want to switch halfway through the season back to skis. When I called to switch, I was told that they had no more skis to switch for the seasonal rentals, but would be happy to rent us daily - at an added charge. I since called a few shops in the area and learned that Williams' rental "fleet" is relatively small and it is typical that they get sold out. Today I visited this store and have never experienced such rudeness from a saleslady in my life. I will never go to this store again. Had a bad experience with a recent purchase of patio furniture. The saleshelp was knowledgeable but gruff. The merchandise arrived 6 weeks after promised date. I called to check on it and they had the delay in their system, but didn't bother to inform me. Also, the merchandise arrived disassembled. I was never told about that detail. Be very careful when purchasing custom cushions for outdoor furniture. Just purchased $9,500 worth of cushions (26 pieces) and the cushions retain water and do not drain. Was told after filing warranty claim that the fabric was not a water resistant product. Total scam. I will not buy anything from them in the future. Purchased a set of teak outdoor furniture from Williams - could not have asked for a better experience. The staff was knowledgable and very helpful, the quality of the furniture is terrific, the pricing was more than fair and the order arrived early. They handled all of my questions without blinking an eye, even ordered fabric so that I could have cushions made for existing chairs - and found the upholster for me. To top it off, they will even pick up and store the furniture during the winter. Really had a great experience from start to finish - highly recommend! read more

Several years ago we had purchased a Woodard iron patio set from Williams Ski and Patio and were very satisfied with the product. At the time we had purchased the glass table top without the hole for an umbrella, as that fit our need at the time. A couple of years ago we rearranged our patio and decided that we'd like to have the glass table top with the the hole so as to put an umbrella over the table. No problem, or so we thought. We went back to Williams thinking that it would be an easy matter of seeing if they could order the one with the hole for us. We explained everything to 2 of their sales people, and they, quite frankly, seemed as though they could care less. After some prodding they finally agreed to see if they had any records of what we had bought. Strangely enough, they could find records of several other purchases we had made over the years, but nothing about this particular piece. On top of that, they were extremely rude throughout the process, and indirectly implied that we hadn't bought it from them. We know we did. We would have had no problem with their simply listening to our story and doing some quick checking to see if the top was available or not, and then letting us know either way. Unfortunately we never got to that point. Their condescending and poatronizing behavior made it clear that they are only interested in making a new sale. Apparently, Williams Ski and Patio is only interested in making the sale, and will not put effort into helping the customer after the fact. We will now be taking our next 40 years' business elsewhere, and suggest that you do as well. Would have given the no stars if it was possible. read more
