Finding the right spot to get a mens long hair haircut is harder than one might think! I spent some time searching and found good feedback on Three Degrees Salon and specifically with Kei. Gave it a try and the consult before the first cut felt great, the cut was solid and looked & felt great - I left feeling really good. It was what happened following the cut that made this experience amazing, my hair actually grew in really well from a cut that set me up beautifully! I went there after a long time and Megumu nailed it again! I love my new look!!! This is my third time to have Megumu's service and I wanted to have a bit brighter hair color (balayage and money piece) since I will have one of the biggest event of my life soon. I absolutely loving it!!!! She knows that I have multiple hair color history including good ones and bad ones and she explained me so well that I understand a possible result because of it. However, she managed to provide me a fantastic hair color. I admire her professionalism and effort for the "best hair" for me. Balayage is not an easy process. If you'd want to have a perfect balayage on your hair (or any other bleaching styles) I highly recommend Megumu for that. She is a wonderful stylist for sure. read more

I just wanted to share my awful experience with Megumu Murota at Three Degrees Salon. I emailed her some photos 2 weeks prior to my appointment and showed her how I would like to get my hair colored and what type of balayage that I would like to achieve. No need to be exactly the same, but just try to be as close as possible. At my appointment, I explained to her my hair condition, some experience that i had before when I get hair colored, also mentioned that I did box dye a month ago, etc. I tried my best to provide her with enough information, to make her understand my hair condition so that she can be fully prepared and help me to get a pretty, fresh hair look. But take a look at these pictures below: the first one is how I want my hair to be. The second one is how my hair look now, 7 days after the hair coloring service, only 2 times of wash. And the 3rd one is how Megumu posted on her Instagram of my hair. But this color is only in her dream, not in my really life. I was like, Hello? Is that my hair? How come that I didn't recognize? And why you add such a heavy filter on the video? Is that you want your customer and followers to see? Nothing but filters? Unfortunately, filters won't give me a beautiful hair color in real life. Could anyone tell that Megumu gave me a decent balayage? All my friends was just like really? That's what you got ? Seriously? When I emailed Megumu and tried to let her know that I wasn't satisfied with the hair color, instead of trying to communicate with me and helping me fix my hair. She said, ACTUALLY, I DIDN'T MENTION TO YOU THAT I GAVE YOU A DISCOUNT. So? First of all, I have never asked you for any discount and I gave you 25% tips just to thank you for your time. Second, I'm never looking for a bargain, all I want is to get my hair done the exact way I asked. As a customer, I deserve to express my concern and my dissatisfaction after I spend 6 hours with her to get my hair done and paid $500 + $125 tips. And is it really that hard for her to try to listen what I want and try to find a way to fix my hair color? I guess it's really hard for someone to do so, but apparently finding excuses and shirking the responsibilities are much easier! Well, that explains everything. I am not trying to ask for a refund or anything, all I asked is just a good customer service and a decent after-sale service. I made a mistake on choosing Three Degrees Salon and trusting the stylist Megumu. Hope you guys can learn your lesson from me and avoid wasting your time and money here. read more

First time here after extensive search for the right hairdresser. Risuko's cut and texturing styling expertise created the perfect look I was going for. She listened and advised based on what I was looking for and my hair type. She cut it so that it would work well when my old bangs as they grew out with the rest of my hair. Also had a pleasant head massage as she washed my hai, without the expected next pains you usually get at other salons. Really appreciated the calm, comfortable, confidence Ritsuko had with my hair and the look I wanted -she definitely knew without me saying much. I haven't experienced the same precision and attention to detail in any of my past hairdressers! When I thought she was done, there was still something she found she needed to fix to make my look perfect. Edit: My original review is below. I have updated my rating and comments after being contacted by Kei, the salon's owner. Kei apologized, clarified the salon's policies (which are very fair to the customer), and offered to correct the situation by refunding the full amount that I was charged. I am pleased with this resolution,and feel that this salon takes it seriously to make sure their clients are treated well and have a good experience. ----- My original review: I booked a service online, then followed the directions on their website for a virtual consultation. I disclosed all history of my hair, including colouring, treatment and event specific products previously used. I provided photos of my current hair and photos of my desired style. At no point was I advised that I was not a candidate for the service I had booked. When I went to my appointment, the stylist refused to perform the service, then I was charged for a consultation (despite the website saying that a virtual consultation was sufficient), as well as a full service fee, even though no service was performed (they claimed this was a late cancellation). I was looking forward to my treatment and was very disappointed that the virtual consultation was basically useless, and then I was forced to pay for the full cost of the treatment, without receiving any service. I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to anyone. read more

I've had my hair colored at a bunch of different salons in NYC, and I think I've finally found the one! I booked balayage with Megumu and she was able to transform my brassy, grown out bleached hair into an ashy beige tone that I didn't think was possible on my hair. I really appreciated that she took the time to walk through my previous color history, make recommendations for what color would best suit my needs (low maintenance, avoid brassiness) and skin tone, and give me tips for maintaining the color. I've wanted to get my hair into a lighter shade for a while, but previous attempts with other salons have always been unsuccessful. My hair would either break, or become orange-ish.
