This is a really fun spot , part winery, part brewery, and they even have hard seltzers, so there's something for everyone. I tried the white wine flight and thought the wines were solid, nothing mind-blowing, but definitely enjoyable, and the pours were generous (great value!). The guys in our group were happy with their beers too. We didn't eat this time, but the onsite pizza looked delicious. The overall vibe is great, relaxed, friendly, and the outdoor seating tucked between the vineyards is super cute. Perfect spot to spend an afternoon.

Great winery and brewery Very nice assortment of wine and beer! Friendly staff, knowledgable and quick to help you! Beautiful grounds lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating has high tops and low tops down stairs and a cozy loft area upstairs with chairs and couches. Upatairs is adults only Live music most weekends Plenty of parking. From the parking, there is a steep stairway to enter tasting room, or a gravel path (uphill) See prior review below for more detail. My rating rationale for beer, wine, or spirits: +1 Service +1 Atmosphere/Vibe +1 Taste/Quality (Flavor, aroma, and overall quality of the beverage) +1 Presentation (Glassware, garnishes, and visual appeal of the drinks) +1 Selection/Variety (Range of beer, wine, or spirit options and uniqueness of offerings)

On the outdoors patio. My cup has a habanero mango cider in it.

Lovely winery that's dog friendly both indoors and outdoors! Reading through some of the negative reviews of this place, I think those reviewers were either here at a time TFV was going through construction and change in ownership, or they were looking for something "fancier." I didn't like the caution tape strung up outside and wasn't sure what it's for - but if it's just to keep people out, I hope they can find a more aesthetic way to get the message across. Yes, flights are served in plastic cups on trays with printouts of details of the wine on there. Yes, it's lively and people aren't dressed to the nines. Personally, I like that this winery is so approachable and no-frills. That's not to say it's not a nice establishment, because it is! But drinks aren't served in crystal and conversations aren't held in subdued voices. They have live music on some Sundays 2-5pm, and I believe it's coming soon for Friday evenings as well. We ordered a hot honey pepperoni pizza and it was surprisingly delicious. It did take a longer time than I thought, but it was worth it. I think we waited 30 minutes for the food after ordering it, and we were there on a Saturday at about 2-3pm. I've come here twice now, and both times were because the organization that my dog and I volunteer for (Fairfax Pets On Wheels) held a social here. It's not overly crowded like Barrel Oak or Bluemont or Stone Tower are, plus I like that my dog can be with me both indoors and outdoors.

Here's a more well-rounded and polished version of your Yelp review: My wife and I stumbled upon this place for an impromptu beer tasting, and we're so glad we did! Atmosphere & Outdoor Space The outdoor space is absolutely fantastic. There's a beautiful seating area by a rolling creek, which looks like an amazing spot for warmer weather (unfortunately, it was below freezing when we visited). Beyond that, there's even more outdoor seating near the vines, making it a perfect place to relax with a drink and enjoy the scenery. The Building & Ambiance The building itself is stunning--spacious, clean, and with an open floor plan that feels incredibly inviting. One unique touch is the artwork displayed throughout--some for sale, some just for decoration. I wouldn't consider myself an art lover, but I genuinely appreciated how much it added to the ambiance. Upstairs is a 21+ area with cozy couches, comfortable chairs, and a few tables--almost like a relaxed coffee shop but with unbeatable views. Since we visited on a Friday afternoon, it wasn't crowded, which made for an even better experience. Food & Drinks A major plus is the brick oven pizza, made fresh in a separate building behind the winery/brewery. They describe it as "personal pan size," but it's definitely big enough for two to share. Ordering was easy via QR code, though finding the pickup spot took a little effort. As for the beer, it was solid but not earth-shattering. We didn't try the wine this time, but based on the setting, I imagine it would be a great place to enjoy a tasting. Lastly, we met the "owner/bewery/winer" he gave us a a sample of his stout beer free of charge. Little things like that really make a difference. Final Thoughts This is an ideal spot for both small and large groups, especially if you can take advantage of the outdoor seating. We'll definitely be back--and bringing friends next time!

We went to Three Fox recently for the first time because we heard that it was dog-friendly and we want to go to a nice space with our pup. The vineyard is so huge and there is enough parking even during the weekend. The staff was nice enough to help us where to go and what to order. There was not a lot of food options except for the cheese and crackers and the wood-fired pizza. The wood-fired pizza was delicious and the wine were good. My only suggestion is that posting a map where the dogs can freely play or where to sit for first-timers would be really helpful. And separating groups with kids from those with no kids would be great.

I heard from a few friends that Three Fox was great and was surprised based on my last visit years and years ago when the building and wine were totally different. The ambiance and wines have both improved. They're dog friendly so there are tons of cute pooches everywhere you look. The people are really lovely. I did the white wine flight and found the wines to be too sweet for my taste, but I'd come back for the vibes and to try the reds and beers!

We decided to stop here on a whim and I'm so glad we did. When we arrived, a lady greeted up and gave us a rundown of the whole place. They have a big indoor space, the top floor is for adults only and the bottom is for everyone. The inside is very open and beautiful, definitely had good vibes. They also have patio seating, which is where we sat. It was a warm day, and I wished they had outdoor fans. The patio got a good breeze but fans would have made it more enjoyable. My friend and I got the red and white wine flights. I liked that they told you what each drink was. I don't know that I'm the best at judging what the best wines are, but I found these wines good. We also ordered a Margherita pizza to split. They had QR codes to order the pizza and then they texted you when it was ready. To pick up the pizza, you have to walk down a hill. It definitely wasn't the most convenient way to get pizza but the pizza was really good. Also of note, the entrance to the winery has quite a few stairs and is a pretty decent incline. If you are taking someone who might be older or have more limited mobility, be prepared. We saw a few people struggling to get up to the winery.

Had an enjoyable time at this vineyard, staff were friendly and also kid friendly with a changing mat, kids loved the veggie pizza and margarita pizza, we enjoyed the apple and raspberry ale such a relaxing stop over after peach picking.

My partner and I recently enjoyed a relaxing Sunday afternoon tasting beer and wine at Three Fox Vineyards. Although this winery is a little further out if you live in DC or the northern Virginia suburbs, it is well worth the drive and a nice destination for those who have kids and dogs in tow. There was plenty of seating both inside and outside. The lower level allows dogs and children, while the upper level is a lounge exclusive for adults. There is also a ton of outdoor seating, including picnic tables if you prefer to dine while you whine. We received very prompt service at the bar once we entered and they were quick to run us through the menu which included wine, beer, and some limited ciders. They offered pizzas and some limited snacks (e.g., pretzels) for food. Tasting flights were available for both wine and beer and were somewhat customizable with one or two substitutions. Prices were pretty reasonable with tastings starting around $15. Although I was not a huge fan of all of the wines that I tried, I did enjoy the stainless steel viogner. My partner also remarked that he liked the pilsner beer. I think the best feature about this location is the beautiful tasting room, with gorgeous views of the terrain and plenty of seating for groups large and small. It would be the perfect place to spend a long, weekend afternoon with friends or family.

We enjoyed our visit to this winery. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I loved that they have tables within the vines so on a beautiful, warm fall afternoon we were able to sit among the vines with a wonderful breeze and enjoy the live music. I had the frozen sangria which was perfect on this warm day. We didn't order any food but the pizza looked and smelled delicious. They had grape stomping which was a fun idea. The little kids loved playing in the grapes!

We stumbled upon this location by accident. We were on our way to lost mountain vineyard when we discovered they were closed during open hours so we stopped here and we were pleasantly surprised. Beautiful views. Inside is a little modern for our taste but it's still very nice. Staff allowed my wife to sample the non-A drinks which was a great option and touch. I had a the white wine flight and really enjoyed everything on the menu. We took home 2 bottle to go. They offer outdoor seating amongst the vineyard where we enjoyed the cool autumn air and got to watch the cows across the field. Overall great experience. Glad we found this place.

Food and Fun Friday nights! Was excited to take my husband out for the best woodfired Pizza either of us ever had. He stated it was, without being prompted. Only down side is that they can't delivery due to the small number of people who own and or run the accessory location next to the large modern clean winery space. But the main reason we went was to try the #freeLineDancingLessons offeredon on a certain number of Fridays at 6pm (must verify before you make to journey)! Or you may find yourself in a karaoke audience, if Line dancing rescheduled. It was a new experience for us but fun anyway w friendly customers and somewhat entertaining . But I was so eager to try Line dancing m, even if my husband can't participate in that, but it knew he would love that Place Pizza and could enjoy the country music. And he was feeling well enough to to agree since he wanted to see me do someone I thought would be fun. Good Man! (to accompany me for the pizza I sold him on and to enjoy some nice country music). I said where's that place you wanted to go? Said hewould accompany me to the Line Dancing. So we were disappointed about no dancing that night but we decided to stay & see what karaoke was all about;) I decided I could try for another Friday evening Line Dancing even if I had to go stagg. I would at least be being him home our favorite pizza, " the vegetarian " really awesome array of grilled peppers w sun dried tomatoes and cheeses . Only suggestions I can recommend to the very consistent pizza chef is to add a few items to the menu & to add to the veggie toppings available would be smashed Calamata, (or other fine black olives), a few swipes of goat cheese, and a handful of seared pine nuts to make an amazingly flavorful complement to the salt easy outstanding ingredients like sun-dried tomatoes, as additional toppings which by the way, they top off with arugula & offer a little sprinkle flavorful olive oil. Perhaps optional for all pizzas

Very lovely and modern property. Lots of great wine and beer options and plenty of outdoor seating along the exterior and next to the vineyards. Upstairs seating for adults on couches and chairs if you're looking for a cozier vibe. The pizza was decent as well. If you're choosing between this spot and Barrel Oak you're likely looking at two different vibes. I'd say Three Fox leans more into a vineyard while Barrel Oak appears to feel like an even mix of both a vineyard and brewery. Both nice properties for sure.

Tables are reserved for 2.5 hours, so I assume the party before us didn't use their full time. We ordered an appetizer and a bottle of wine. The brie cake was delicious--even for someone who doesn't usually like goat cheese (it was layered in)--but unfortunately, no one in our group enjoyed the cheesecake. The winery is both dog- and kid-friendly. All the parents we encountered kept their children supervised, which is a winery rule and one I really appreciate now that we have kids ourselves. Most of the dogs were also very well behaved, though one was repeatedly growling at passing dogs, which was off-putting. While the winery can't control every patron, we choose to leave our dog at home when she's not in a social mood, and it would be nice if all dog owners did the same.

Not a single table was available. Instead, there were rows of empty tables with RESERVED signs on them, apparently reserved for ghosts, because no one sat at them for 2+ hours. Meanwhile, groups of people, including us, circled the patio like vultures waiting for a table to finally open. The oyster pop-up bar had a line wrapping around the patio like people were waiting for Taylor Swift concert tickets instead of shellfish. There are small campfire setups around the outside area. But in 69°F full sun with a gentle breeze, you'd think no one would use them. Wrong. The whole side patio and hill area turned into a smoky campsite, with diners getting smoked out and leaving. On top of that, we had to fend off a rotating cast of unattended children. Kids wandered around like they were in an unsupervised theme park. One repeatedly tried sticking their hands in our dog's face while she was calmly chewing on a bone outside like a civilized creature. We ended up disciplining other people's children just so our dog could exist without being harassed. Food (4/5): We ordered the Nduja Sausage and Ricotta Pizza ($26), a red sangria pitcher ($40), a red sangria glass ($12), and the s'mores cookie tray ($10 for 3 cookies). The pizza was delicious, but the crust was so thin and flimsy it needed structural reinforcement. I used part of the previous slice to smear the ricotta around to get a balanced bite each time. The sangria was great, but $40 for 4 1/3 full glasses of wine felt disappointing. It's sangria, not liquid gold. The cookies were good, but for $10, 3 cookies should at least come with hot cocoa. Service (4/5): The lines were out the door. That is not the staff's fault. This place is popular, and the food is great. While I waited the 15 minute line to order, I reviewed the menu, dodged tiny children, and stepped away from random dogs on leashes inside the establishment trying to jump on me. It felt like a low-stakes obstacle course. When I got to the counter, I placed my order quickly. The bartender whipped the screen around with such precision and stared me down during the tip prompt like I was making a morally questionable decision. I pressed "No Tip" (listen. I stood in a line, picked up my own order, and bussed my own table) and his face shifted from "happy to help you" to "you have personally wronged me and my ancestors" in seconds. After tapping through 5+ different prompts, he told me to set a timer on my phone for 10 to 15 minutes and go to a different building to pick up my pizza. Finding this second building required me to use my nose like a bloodhound, following the faint scent of pizza through crowds until I finally tracked it down.

I was looking for good beer for a local gathering, and searched through several breweries. I was interested in the options here that are diverse, yet small and curated. I opted for the rye cold IPA, Rye Hard With A Vengeance - this has a strong rye flavor with almost a rye bread note to it, the hops weren't as pronounced as I prefer but the result is an overall good balance that to me leaned almost toward a dark lager. The Turtlenecks & Blazers is what I'll return for - a deceptively easy to drink 6.6%. The pronounced hops and slight fruitiness are one of the better IPAs I've had recently. It doesn't veer into dank bitterness or overboard with citrus, while also not being a flat boring middle-of-the-road IPA. A great pour, and I was disappointed there wasn't any canned when I got there. The only thing I'd improve is the seating, which is a personal impression. The white tiles and bright lights are a bit too much in my opinion, by softening the interior just a little it would be somewhere I'd hang around.

Down Unda IPA 7.1% ABV... if you don't like Life on Marzen, you will hate this. Most of the beer was awesome. The service was top notch. They had 2 people managing the bar and they were very attentive. Even for our table in the corner. Didn't get to try the food on this visit, but I will return.
