I ordered the Spicy Turkey Club Panini from their panini section ($13), and it was excellent. It came with Farmer's & Cooks fireside turkey breast, tomato, cheddar, chipotle mayo, all pressed on a fresh baguette (I opted to skip the bacon). The sandwich had the perfect balance of flavor and spice, the chipotle mayo brought just the right kick, and the turkey was juicy and flavorful. The bread was warm and crisp, holding everything together without overpowering the ingredients. A really satisfying, thoughtfully prepared lunch. The staff were friendly, laid-back, and helpful. Even though it was our first time in, they made us feel welcomed. They gave great menu suggestions, and service was quick but never rushed. You can tell they care about the quality of what they serve and the experience they provide. Three Mountain Café has a cozy, welcoming vibe that fits perfectly with the laid-back spirit of the Mad River Valley. There's plenty of seating, local art on the walls, and a community feel that makes it a great spot to relax with a cup of coffee or a light meal. Sorry folks, breakfast foods were meh (bland, minimal bacon in the sandwich, etc.) (as described by my 21 year old friends) and when I asked for hot sauce, I got attitude that I wasn't buying their overpriced maple siracha, and got a paltry amount of sauce. Since Toast & Eggs is closed on Tuesdays, we decided to try Three Mountain Cafe. Looks cute. BUT the breakfast burrito was horrible--no sausage, and we ordered with no salsa but it was thick with salsa. Took forever to get the order, so we didn't ask for it to be fixed. This place is never open. I'm absolutely over this. Their coffee and food is bad anyway but as the only coffee shop in town, they should absolutely be open past 2pm. get with the real world because it doesn't close in the early afternoon. Love coming here for bagels and breakfast sandwiches. If I'm right, this is the only type of place in the valley you can come for a quick bacon egg and cheese, or a bagel and cream cheese with a coffee. So they have the market cornered but they do a great job. I love their garlic and herb cream cheese, it's amazing. The line can get very long during the Waitsfield Farmers market but it's doable most other days. They do close early (2ish I think?) so it's definitely more of a breakfast/lunch type of place and they do have a big sandwich menu too though I usually go for the bagels. read more

Crummy customer service and terrible "latte". They barista gave me black coffee with steamed milk on top and argued with me about what a latte is. Stopped off at this cafe to have a cup of afternoon coffee. The cafe is in a strip mall and the interior space is real funky. Lots of little things up for sale, like candles, antiques, whole bean coffee, etc. the pastries looked enticing. Very large pastries and many options, even some gluten free. First of all, the service is subpar at best. On consecutive visits, we were first treated rudely by the counter staff, and then ignored for several minutes while they talked amongst themselves. Also, on our second visit, they must have had their iced coffees labeled incorrectly behind the counter. The hazelnut tasted like a muddy blend of their Turkish roast, hazelnut, and french vanilla. The staff was unable to correct my order, so I suffered through the barely-drinkable caffeine fix. The coffee was perfect the day before, but the second visit was not the same. Close to four stars. It is a super convenient location with good parking and easy to get to. For breakfast go very early to have a pick of pastries just brought in from the baker. Not a Starbucks, but good quality lattes and cappuccinos. Regular coffee smooth and hot in thermal carafes. No "Hollywood Stars" on the sandwich line, but no "Baddies" either. Quaint little cafe in beautiful quiet Vermont town setting. Great selection of fresh made sandwiches and lunch fare. The cafe is collocated in an antique store offering a wide variety of Vermont antiques. I ordered the three mountain turkey sandwich on wheat ciabatta and my daughter ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on gluten free bread. Both were well prepared and tasty. My only criticism is that they need to update their location address on Yelp and the Gluten Free (GF) app to the correct address. I have been coming here for coffee since 1993 when I'm in the area to visit. The coffee is great. But honestly, the customer service has gone down hill. The younger staff they have working is moderately disorganized, not friendly, and today I would say rude. I keep thinking the next day will get better but, nope! I spent a few hours here on my vacation this weekend. There are not many cafes in the area, but this is the perfect one to just hang out on your computer and grab a coffee and lunch. The menu items were excellent. I had the chicken noodle soup and the turkey bacon bravo sandwich. The sandwich was so delicious and grilled perfectly.
