    Guyanese Fried Rice

This review is soley on my take out experience. This was a pickup order and was made by a friend. I would normally go to a different restaurant for Guyanese food that was out of the way. This area of Queens is basically the only place to get good Guyanese food. I read a lot of the other reviews that targeted poor and rude customer service. Most of the reviews say the food is pretty good. We had a few basic dishes which were Lo Mein, chicken and vegetable fried rice. All the food had good taste, they give great portions and prices are reasonable. They provided utensils and plenty of hot sauce! Can't forget that. Overall it was a good choice and for what I ordered the food tasted pretty close to my regular place I go. I would recommend them for take out based on this experience.

    Lamb Pachownie dhal and rice

The food here is okay, never overly spicy or salty. Although every time i have bought food here the workers and customers always seem to get in an altercation. I think better signs for lines so people don't skip the line or know how to order as this can get confusing. I had the lamb pochawnie with dhal and rice 18 bucks seems like a lot. I probably wont order again. But it was pretty good if anyone has a craving for it.

Very expensive, how the hell a roti and bigan choka is $18? Customer service is horrible. The two aunties behind the counter needs to attend some type of training and how to deal with people because they don't know anything about customer service.

This is the only roti shop I can get food and it's not too spicy so my kids can enjoy it too.

What is the point of having a phone if no one answers it?? Called 7 TIMES back to back and no answer. Lost a catering sale.

July 25, 2026 BEWARE…read moreOF WHAT YOU BUY HERE. If it looks hard, it's hard. If it looks dry, it's dry. Sad experience. The Paper Bag Chicken Fried Rice is literally served in a brown bag. My sister, brother, and I were driving down Rockaway Blvd. in Queens when I spotted this Caribbean restaurant called Simply Caribbean. They had an A in the window, and the food pictures looked very good, but they were very deceiving. My sister went inside before me while I sat in the car looking up their reviews on Yelp. They had good reviews for the Paper Bag Chicken Fried Rice. I went inside and saw the food sitting out, and it looked both undercooked and overcooked at the same time. Against my better judgment, we should have just left, but my brother placed his order for salmon. He said it was overcooked, so it was dry. My sister ordered rice and peas, which were way too spicy for her to eat, along with her hockey puck oxtails that were hard as a rock. She took a few bites, couldn't eat it, and threw her food in the garbage. I ordered the Paper Bag Chicken Fried Rice. The server said it's like Chinese-style fried rice, so I thought I was going to get chicken throughout the rice--not what I received. I got four cut-up, dry pieces of chicken sitting on top of a whole brown bag of rice with shredded, dry cabbage on top for decoration. The brown bag rice had good flavor, but the presentation and the dry chicken were not for me. I was like, what kind of food is this? I called them to make a complaint. They transferred me to the cook, and I told him about the experience I was having. He said, "Next time..." I stopped him right in his tracks and said, "I won't be coming back here, but I will alert people to the fact that you, as a cook, don't taste your own food that you're selling." First time and last time coming here. You try to support local businesses, and this is how they support their community. SHAMEFUL.
