I've seen a lot of negative reviews for this restaurant, but I can't personally say I've experienced poor service or subpar food. They do have very limited seating here, as the restaurant is small and most people order to go. I love coming here whenever I'm around Liberty Ave. to try all the things I don't normally get to eat throughout the year. The food I've had here is very good. Everything from the saltfish and bake, curry chicken, fried rice, pholourie, cassava ball, salara (coconut roll), etc. have been flavorful, seasoned well, and appetizing. Visited for the first time. The service was not too bad but the food did not live up to the hype. The chicken curry was watery and not tasty. The Dhal Puri was soft and very good but the oil roti was not good. The fish curry was okay but again the sauce was too watered down and lacked any kind of tastiness expected with a curry. The hot sauce that was packed with the food was butt as it was also watered down. Really disappointing. The most egregious observation was the lack of prices being displayed. All of the prices were covered up and that really bothered me. It appears this is a common theme with many of the businesses along Liberty avenue. It leaves room for price gouging. Extremely disappointing experience--would not recommend. The service here is consistently poor. The owner is incredibly rude, the wait times are long, and the staff show little regard for customers. On one visit, I ordered both a small and a large chicken curry, only to receive them in identical-sized containers--with just a couple of extra pieces in the "large" portion. That's dishonest and unacceptable. Another time, I placed a large advance order for a party I was attending. Due to an unexpected traffic accident, I arrived later than expected--but I had kept them informed. When I finally got there, the owner curtly said, "You're late, I sold it," and walked away mid-conversation. That level of disrespect is shocking, especially given the order was meant for an event. I've spent hundreds of dollars here in the past, but never again. The lack of basic customer service, poor attitude, and inferior food quality--including excessive use of low-grade oil and salt--make it clear they don't value their patrons. There are many other Guyanese establishments with better food, friendlier service, and far more professionalism. Lady, do yourself a favor--take a course in hospitality and customer service. This review is soley on my take out experience. This was a pickup order and was made by a friend. I would normally go to a different restaurant for Guyanese food that was out of the way. This area of Queens is basically the only place to get good Guyanese food. I read a lot of the other reviews that targeted poor and rude customer service. Most of the reviews say the food is pretty good. We had a few basic dishes which were Lo Mein, chicken and vegetable fried rice. All the food had good taste, they give great portions and prices are reasonable. They provided utensils and plenty of hot sauce! Can't forget that. Overall it was a good choice and for what I ordered the food tasted pretty close to my regular place I go. I would recommend them for take out based on this experience. read more

The food here is okay, never overly spicy or salty. Although every time i have bought food here the workers and customers always seem to get in an altercation. I think better signs for lines so people don't skip the line or know how to order as this can get confusing. I had the lamb pochawnie with dhal and rice 18 bucks seems like a lot. My go to place every Friday and Sunday for breakfast and lunch! I have tried everything on the menu so far! And honestly it's the BEST food in Richmond Hill right now! Everything is SEASONED AND COOKED WELL! I'm a very picky eater and I don't eat out from restaurants a lot but this establishment is super clean! Great food. 4 stars instead of 5 because they close as 8pm and run out of food by 5pm. I guess that's good that they sell out which means you get fresh food everyday. What's bad is they are the only place with decent curry dishes but you can't get any in the evening. Sometimes after a long days work you just don't have the energy to cook. When you stop in thinking you'll get something good, you walk out disappointed. They also don't deliver. Not a smart thing when you have such a demand. It wasn't the soulful and delicious West Indian cuisine that feeds your stomach and your soul. Rather, it had strange aftertastes and an overall nauseating flavor.
