Stopped in after a visit to Dahlonega for a little break from the cold. The room is large and comfortable with several different seating areas. It wasn't busy when we arrived but quickly filled up soon after. They offer both regular and sparkling mead, beer and wine. I ordered a mead flight and the bartender was super helpful in making sure I ordered ones I would enjoy. All of my choices were very tasty but the Drunken Peach Cobbler was my favorite. It's a great place to stop if you want a break from the wineries.

I stopped here on a recent weekend trip. Although it was an easy drive from the downtown of Dahlonega, when we arrived it was empty. It was about noon on a Saturday so maybe a little early for some day drinkers. However, I LOVED the drinks I got to try. My favorite was the sparkling mead. The sweet hot fuzz, made with honey, peaches and habanero peppers, had the perfect balance of sweetness and a kick. If you're looking for something a little different during your traditional tour of GA wine county, I would stop here for a taste of honey wine!

Mead and beer in the same place! This place is awesome!! Great ambiance. Awesome selection. The bartender was awesome and explained all the different varieties. If you need a break from the wineries, check out Etowah Meadery!

This cool little place has mead, beers, and wine. Since we had never had mead before, we shared 2 flights. The bartender was nice and helpful. There were a few that I enjoyed and I bought a pack to take home. It's definitely a place to check out.

We visited the Etowah Meadery tasting room in downtown Dahlonega on a recent trip. We've done beer, wine, and margarita flights, but never a mead flight- and we love new experiences on vacation. My husband and I shared the $8 tasting flight of mead, which included four 2oz samples of Georgia Standard, Ranier Cherry Deluge, FIGeddaboutit, and Dry Humor. We also tried the Mead-a-Rita. We purchased the FIGeddaboutit flavor as well as a mango guava sparkling mead, and the art on the bottles adds a custom touch. I wish the DeSoto's quest was available by the glass, because I would've tried that as well. It was a bit pricey to purchase without tasting first. The tasting room on the square is worth a stop if you like adventurous adult beverages. The production facility is closed on weekdays, but I'd love to tour it if we return to the area.

My husband and I stumbled across this place while driving through Georgia. What a find! First, there is ample parking and the building is welcoming. We were greeted by the owners who were lovely to chat with. The mead was top quality and tasted natural. We will definitely be back.

2/12/2022 Second visit. Meadery. Honey alcohol + People here are very friendly and will answer any questions you have. If you are day-tripping to the mountains for a hike or just a curvy drive, stop here and sample taste. We always bring home a large bottle of the granny's apple pie. My daughter was visiting from Hawaii and was disappointed to find she could not transport a bottle home with her, it was her fav too!

So glad we stopped here!!! We had never heard of mead, and was a little hesitant but as soon as we walked in, one of the owners greeted us from behind the bar. I tried a flight of the sparkling mead, my husband got a stout beer. Everything we tried, we liked. Especially the R, B & B! We even got to take a tour the back. All the staff were friendly and we enjoyed talking to them.

We were on our way to go shopping in downtown Dahlonega, GA & we saw Brewery to the right. We stopped inside and I loved the atmosphere right away. The tanks to the right making the product the smells of citrus, & hoops was warm & inviting. The young lady who helped us was great and patient with us. Made great suggestions for us to try. They have plenty of outdoor seating and dogs are allowed. They even had a large fire pit Ali go with corn boards to play. They even have options to purchase their beers canned and can mix and match to what you enjoyed. If you plane to hang out for a while bring some little snacks crackers, cheese, pepperoni, nuts to snack on or they have a very small option for one person to have some sliced salami & olives. Great place to visit can't wait to go again.

Service was fine, but mead isn't very good. We will stick with Viking. Also, we found the prices pretty high.

Ask the Community - Etowah Meadery

Can you smoke cigars at the meadery?

Hi Chuck, yes we allow smoking, including cigars and pipes, outside. We have a large wrap around covered porch as well as several picnic tables in the same area.

I'm a huge fan of mead and mixing mead with beer so this place is obviously sort of a dream spot for a guy like me.
