About 15 min after we got our food and while I was still eating (literally still fork in hand and food in my mouth), he came back and asked if he should bring us our check. My husband had said 'not yet but thanks'. Then he filled our drinks in an oddly abrasive manner and spilled about a half a cup's worth of water on the table (and he didn't even offer to wipe it down). Then literally five minutes later, he brought us the check anyway. I definitely prefer it to be a much stronger flavour of both fruit and rum Spicy Crispy Chicken Burger - 6.5/10 - was a decent chicken burger, except the chicken was very over cooked and the toppings were quite bland. The saving grace was the mango habañero sauce on the chicken. I didn't have the pork belly sandwich, the coconut crusted fish sandwich, or the Maui Mango cocktail listed, so I won't rate them. Let me start by saying, I didn't give 5 stars because even with a reservation we still had to wait in a line behind about 8 other groups with no reservations, which to me was highly disappointing and took about 20 min off our Happy Hour time! With that being said, I can see why this HH is such a hit! LOTS of options with decent serving sizes. We ended up with 5 HH appetizers and a few rounds (ok, 4! We had 4 rounds) of margaritas all for under $100 (including tip)!!! We walked around a bit before heading home! Food was great! Service was good! When most restaurants are closed on Christmas Day, Three's came through big time hosting an awesome dinner! We ordered the beer can chicken, which was outstanding...cooked perfectly, well seasoned and huge portion. The brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes were a great compliment. We also ordered a few sushi rolls including the tempura ahi, which was sooo delicious. I couldn't stop eating it even after vowing not to after seeing how huge the beer can chicken portion was. We also tried the kalua pig nachos, recommended by our server. Wow, great flavor, huge portion, and the aioli sauce was so good. It was quite rich and maybe I indulged to much in the delightful food as I was so full afterwards. The draft beer list is pretty solid and I was impressed they had Dogfish Head Punkin' on the bottle list. Also, I couldn't believe they poured me a Buffalo Trace bourbon for $12! We had a great X-mas meal at Three's and so thankful they were open. Service was friendly and attentive. We were only on Maui for a week and visited twice! This is our favorite Happy Hour spot. We have eaten lunch and dinner as well but find ourselves drawn to a very tasty Happy Hour menu and some of of our favorite drinks as well. We have eaten every food item and tried some of the sushi options as well. We think the variety, taste, and serving size makes this place a real winner. You won't be disappointed. The Happy Hour food is still presented in a pleasing manner, seasoned as if you purchased the full menu selection, and cooked to perfection. Our favorites include the coconut shrimp(5), kahlua pork nachos, garlic fried noodles, and kahlua pork quesadilla. However, there is not a klinker in the bunch. A touristy spot in Maui that serves a mixture of local seafood + Hawaiian bar food and drinks. I decided to come here with a group of friends the first night we got in Maui. The vibe inside the restaurant is pretty nice - spacious seating, tiki decor, and interesting signage to truly welcome you to Maui. The food itself is just okay - they have some appealing items on the menu, but in general their food items are pretty average and very pricey. Here's what I thought of everything I tried! - Pork belly ramen: The broth lacked some depth in flavor, and the raw kale garnish on top of ramen did not work. The noodles were alright, but this doesn't really compare to a ramen you'd get at a normal Japanese restaurant. The pork belly was the only saving grace. Just no. - Rock n' Roll: Sushi roll topped with ahi tuna, spicy mayo, tobiko, and green onions. This was alright I guess - the tuna was fresh, and the toppings were good. However, the sushi rice was extremely mid, which makes like 50% of the roll. If lacked the nice vinegary sweetness you'd expect from good sushi rice. - Shrimp Tempura Roll with Ahi: This was a sushi roll topped with a bunch of sauced up ahi, spicy mayo, masago, and green onions. What made this not that great for me was that together, the whole dish was just too saucey. There was the spicy mayo, the sweet unagi sauce, and the marinade on the ahi. Individually, all the items tasted pretty solid. However, putting them together made eating the roll a bit too much. - Coconut Crusted Fish Taco: The fish itself was fresh and fried perfectly. The mango slaw on top was nice a refreshing as well. The tortilla was whatever - it didn't taste like it was fresh made but just put on the burner to develop a slight char. For $5, it was probably the most worth item. - Mai Tai: Pretty good, but a tad bit too sweet for me. They definitely went light on the alcohol content in here, which ironically left a sour taste in my mouth since the drink costed more than $10. If you're looking for a chill touristy place to eat that is convenient for food & drinks at night then this is the place to go! The restaurant has good vibes, and the food is alright. Nothing that will blow your socks off, but enough satisfy you. I likely won't willingly come back. read more

We came for happy hour today 8/13 after snorkeling and ordered mai tais, coconut shrimp, coconut crusted fish tacos, Kalua pork nachos and the Panko crusted ahi roll. Everything was delicious!!! Unfortunately, we were starving so I didn't take photos of the food aside from the sushi roll..whoops! Really great prices..all in was $64 before tip. First time trying this place. I peeked in and the place was a full house. I was on a business trip by myself so it was easy to get a seat at the bar. I saw a lot of happy diners as I looked at was ordered at the tables. Then again happy could be because there's cocktails hehehe anyways, the bartender was very busy but he was extremely fast in taking my order of beer and food. And throughout my dinner, he kept asking if I was ok and if I need more to drink. Now that is service! And I was happy. Go get some. It's winnahs! read more

They gave us a 20% discount for coming back and we did. The second time I tried their Sushi rolls and they were so good. I recommend the beer can chicken, the garlic noodles, and their sushi rolls. Found this place when we visited a next door spot for dinner. The menu had a decent selection of food, and the drinks were AMAZING. We had the garlic fried noodles and coconut shrimp, and I was going to get the surf and turf, but our waiter, Eric, suggested I try the Marlin that was fresh caught. The Marlin, blackened, was SO GOOD!!!! highly recommend if they have it on the menu. Plus our server was amazing, had great suggestions on food. Also we sat outdoor and was cool for a night. Parling is a little tough, but if you eat later, there is sure to be plenty of spots there. Give this place a try!!! read more

Quite possibly the worst food I have ever been served. It was served cold and what was supposed to be a fish taco was a cold, over fried piece of chicken. the Hurricane fries were also cold. They were topped with refried or over fried cereal crunch bits that could shatter teeth. The only thing that was okay was the kimchi on the taco. The rest of our table was not wowed either. Edible perhaps, but desperation for food and a shortage of time did not permit for sending meals back. Guy should have tried more dishes before promoting this place. Service started out okay with Jenny but it was quickly realized she did not want to address the obvious food issues on the table. She was quick to grab the bill and taker her money without any acknowledgement of the partly nibbled on food served. Jenny, I would have tipped you more if you brought me something else edible to consume. you looked at my foid and knew it was sub-par. Shame on you as a server. I have to assume they were good at one time but today it seems Three's no longer cares because people come based on the show and will not likely return anyway if a tourist. The Choco-Mac pie was truly awful and rubbery and gritty-coconutty. It should be called choco-coconut pie because ... it's vegan and the coconut cream to make the chocolate doesn't end there, there's coconut in the crust and also flaked on top. Toasted, it looks like coconut shavings but it's been shredded onto the pie and then refrigerated so it just tastes and feels like rubber. As does most of the pie. Once in a while I watch Diner, Drive-Ins and Dives. While we were in Kihei, Maui, a while back we noticed this restaurant. We didn't know what to expect, but I asked what Guy Fiero ordered and ordered the same. My friend and I started off with the crispy pork belly. Fantastic! Sweet, spicy, crunchy, all you expect from an appetizer/salad. Then my friend had the spicy chicken Katsu sandwich with a caesar salad instead of fries. I moved on to ginger Hawaiian fish with rice. Again, fantastic. Our server, Kim did a terrific job of walking us through the menu and making recommendations. The restaurant is quite large. For the quality of the food, I expected crowds, but Kim reassured me that evening hours a really packed. We had a GREAT time here and recommend it. Thank you! read more

With everything that has happened on Maui ... it was disappointing this afternoon when we tried to go to happy hour. There were two of us. We wanted to sir at the bar. They said there was no room. We asked for the high top near the bar. The one hostess looked to the other and then said that the table was reserved. We heard her say it is for a bigger party. So I asked her to clarify it and yes in fact the first hostess lied to us and they were saving the table for a larger party. No reservation but one MIGHT come in. There were other tables. We walked out. We live down the street and try to patronize the local places. This was a bunch of crap. You had two paying customers that they essentially pissed off and turned away. Plenty of other places to spend our money. When they are shut down due to no customers I guess they need to look at who they hire and how they treat people. Oao in Waikea has much better sushi anyway. read more

Parking lot was pretty full but there was a lot of movement so we didn't have to wait too long. We were seated immediately at an outside table. We got to try so many things: Crispy pork belly - loved the sauce, gives real filipino vibes Trident roll - our fave of the night! Shrimp tempura roll - nice and warm, loved that we could taste every bit of the roll Ahi & hamachi sashimi - large pieces and super tasty Oysters - giant! We had one each and that was enough for us to enjoy I also tasted 2 drinks - Lilikoi lady and Honey girl. They were both good but I personally preferred Lilikoi lady. Finally dessert - bananas foster bread pudding, YUM. My husband doesn't normally eat dessert with me but he definitely enjoyed a good portion of this one. What a treat! Fun atmosphere but very mediocre food considering the prices. The noodles in my ramen were good but not a ton of flavor and the broth was very thin. My botanical smash was excellent but not worth the price for the amount. I finished it in like 4 sips. I'd rather just get a beer next time. We got the Bananas fosters bread pudding which was an easy 5 stars! They didn't have any ice cream left in the kitchen so we did without. The waiter was nice but the staff can do better about taking dirty plates away. Had an amazing time at Three's! I booked them for my friend's bridal shower and they were so amazing. It was an incredibly HOT day, but we can't control the weather here. Aside from it being hot, it was beautiful, so I can't complain. Management set us up outside (we had a party of almost 20) and we were able to set up and have that space to ourselves. Originally I was told we'd get a space inside that would be much smaller. Anyway, aside from them being thoughtful and accommodating, the food was amazing! We shared the small plates and had a family style lunch. I can attest that the kalua pork nachos are so delicious! Unlike my friends, I opted for a mocktail and I can't remember the name of it, but it tasted like POG with some fizz (ginger ale, I think) and that was so refreshing. Down to 2 stars for 3's. It's been a year or so since I was here. Three's used to be a regular spot for me over the years. Recently, I've explored other options in the area with similar options. Came back here today, hopefully to enjoy the great food and service I remembered. Unfortunately today, they failed. It's almost September and the summer rush season is over. The place was dead with only one family out on the first deck. I was seated promptly. I waited 10 mins while the one server was paying close attention to his only other table - larger party (=bigger tip). At the ten minute mark, I got up and left. Went to Ohana and had a drink in 1 minute. Food in 15 mins. I may give 3's another shot some day. But for now, I have about 4 other places to "regular" and tip. And they helped me discover Ohana.
