Three's is a great place to hang out in Brooklyn. We used to come here a lot pre-COVID, and it was veryyy crowded on the weekends, but if you can snag a table then it's a good time. During COVID, they've made some changes to accommodate the new policies. You can now reserve a spot in the outdoor garden area in the back (entrance on Butler st) OR first come first serve in the front area. We tried to come without a res, and all the tables were filled already. But making a reservation is fairly easy for the weekend if you do it during the week. The outdoor backyard is actually really nice with the tables spread out apart. And I think I saw heaters above for when it gets chilly. There's a QR code on the table to order food (NY law, if you're getting drinks). And it's ACTUAL food, not just chips like Finback and Strong Rope)! And then there's a separate place to order drinks. In general, Three's beers are just aite for me, but the atmosphere and the fact that they sell liquor/wine/other non-beer drinks keep me coming back! We always have a good time here and the fact that it can't get crowded is even better. read more

First I will say I have an expectation of Manhattanite. Unfortunately while visiting this brewery during a private event I have been met with unprofessionalism. As someone who works in the industry please educate your bartenders on respect. Repeating someone drinks order in a mocking fashion in front of them to other bartenders within hearing distance it is a touch disrespectful. I had very high hopes for this establishment as i drink the beer from the brand. m sure on a normal occasion the bartenders don't project their stress onto their guest and can handle the work load. This gentlemen seemed very overwhelmed and was unable to make a dirty Tito's martini correctly. Will at that being said I'm sure it's great under normal operation conditions but would not recommend coming when there busy. read more

Hosted my birthday party here with 30 guests in the semi private backyard tent! Absolutely amazing space, beer, and service! Would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking to host a bigger group on a relatively cheaper budget than a rooftop bar or big dinner! The backyard tent has fairy lights and greenery. We were able to get there 1hr early and set up some balloons. The staff was very accommodating and even allowed us to play our own Spotify playlist. They kept the cake I bought in the fridge. Nick, our server for the afternoon, was phenomenal! He came around frequently and remembered people's orders. We did a min spend tab and guests were allowed to choose from beer, cocktails, and even wine. There was something for everyone! read more

Sneakily hidden around the corner, but such a gem in Park Slope. Skinny, but long storefront extends all the way to a back outdoor picnic table area. Food and beer all in one place! The bartenders were attentive. The live music was awesome. I don't remember what I got, but I always love when you can get a taster size. I almost grabbed some beer to go as a gift for a friend, but was headed to a broadway show and wouldn't be able to bring it in, but that shouldn't stop you from bringing their brew home. read more

I used to like this place, but they clearly can't run an event. I live next door, and usually the weekend crowd isn't a problem, but my apartment has been SHAKING for HOURS. My dogs have been cowering in the bathroom since 7pm (it's now 10pm). We called the place several times & left messages. We reached out on IG. They said they'd "try to talk to someone." That's the lamest response to a neighbor and regular customer. We even walked over to the door, but no one would take our concern seriously. I run restaurants, and I've *never* had an event that there wasn't at least 1 manager on premise. I also always make sure any parties aren't disturbing the neighborhood--your neighbors make or break your bar/restaurant. And you are alienating the hell out of them. This is so disrespectful to the neighborhood you supposedly are serving. read more

Great place to visit. The beer selection was fairly large given that they only sell their own beers. We particularly liked that they had a decent selection of lagers and pilsners (as we don't like IPAs). The space is large and saw a lot of families with strollers on a Saturday afternoon. We had the food, it's Mexican style food with bowls, quesadilla and taco, burrito options but basically the same 3 or 4 meat options just in a different format. The food was decent, I liked the chicken and steak. We had a shrimp taco which was also really good. But the beers are the star of the show, worth going to sample a few different types. read more

Came here for drinks with a friend on a Friday night. This place gets packed and loud as the night goes on. Pretty decent draft beer menu suitable for everyone. They also interestingly enough have a kitchen, but must be ordered from their mini stand, not the bar. Didn't get any food so can't comment on it. read more

I remember I drank the Table beer, the thought experiment Raspberry and a couple of more which I can't remember the name I had two of the cocktails and they were amazing as well!! The Rose throb rose was yummmmm!!!! Strong! And the JayWalk also very good! We did not have food but they do have some I believe at the front where you can order. I had a really bad experience here on a Sunday over the summer. The manager made my friends and I feel soooo uncomfortable. She was very hostile towards us, first staring at us and discussing our party with other staff. I had no idea what she was talking about - there was plenty of room, we weren't loud at all. We were so confused. After the manager was so creepy, I wanted to leave but we were there for a friend's bday so I had to stay to celebrate her. I have to stress - our party was spending money. We got rounds and rounds of drinks and food. Some people were drinking coffee. I cannot prove this was the reason we were treated so badly, but there were persons of color in our group who agreed that the manager was eyeing us but not other groups... hmmm... I felt embarrassed and annoyed at the treatment. All the service was miserable. The person working the food counter was so hostile, she slammed down my fries on the tray and then spilled. At which point I was like Efff this were leaving. I don't get it but I'm not going to think about it. I just won't ever come back. read more

Absolutely loved Threes Brewing! If it's a nice day out, grab a seat on the back patio...it's adorable, chill and a great time. Definitely my favorite brewery while in Brooklyn. I had a 10 ounce pour of Divided Line for $6, a solid 4/5 bottlecap 4.4% sessionable fruity IPA. I also tried a few tasters ranging in price from $3-4 and enjoyed them all! Arbiter of Fun a 5.2% sour, Touchy Subject a 6.4% IPA, Logical Conclusion a 7% IPA, and Voluntary Exile a 9.2% Baltic Porter to round them out. Not a big brew in the bunch! Great service, great brews, reasonable prices and a cool ass back patio, yep I'll be back next time I'm in the 'hood. read more

Spacious, clean, and classy. I haven't explored this place in its entirety. (Like what's that upstairs space right when you walk in?) But it's clearly a popular spot since I always see so many groups here. The positive spin on this is because they foster a sense of community, like the plethora of weekly events might indicate. And of course an outdoor space that's as close to all year-long as possible is welcome in this concrete jungle. (Could use some more greenery out there, tbh.) The reason for withholding the final star is simply because I have yet to be blown away by any drinks or food that I've ordered. I guess technically food should be reviewed under a different listing cause the little counter you order food from is / is not affiliated with actual Three's Brewing itself?? Like I've said, I haven't been here enough times to sort that all out, but as summer summer time rolls around again, I'm happy to come through and test out the experience again soon! Beer here was pretty good and the outdoor seating was packed on the weekend! I am glad that I found a space to sit for me and my dad, but it was definitely disorganized at the counter to order. There were a lot of different types of beer (and the 5 oz pour was only $4 each), but I particularly liked their two IPA options and the saison I tried. read more

Came here after axe throwing with my friends. I have never had such terrible service inside of a place in NYC before. If you're not enjoying your day, go home... Don't spread your negative energy around everyone else. We had menus on our table and he took some away before we even had a chance to look at it and rudely said "you guys need 7?" (Sir; there's 11 of us...) We asked for extra chairs and he said "find them the same way you got the rest." When he came by with food, he said "who is number 30?" We told him it was for our table since we had a big group and the number holder was on our table. And then he's like "yeah but is it yours?" So my friend said "yeah it's mine we ordered wings and veggie burger" and the waiter was like "yeah I know what's in my hand" (Umm.. so what did you expect us to say?) But they have a long list of house brewed beer with notes like, lingonberry, bergamot, cacao, yuzu and the ilk. Great find! And even more so catching them on a nice September evening and experiencing the back yard. Threes Brewing offers a wide, unique selection of beer served by friendly bartenders, with a quite spacious and nicely decorated backyard patio and burgers, fries, and sides served up front. It seems like the menu changes often and they bring in local establishments. Today, I just had fries from what seems to be their standard menu. Beer: the bartender offered samples of a few beers and I was drawn to both Pilsners, the Vliet and Yclept. Both refreshing and while I didn't see a HH menu, the prices here are so reasonable. Take your pick, $3, $5, $10 or $27 all corresponding to ounce size. Perfect for creating your own beer flight. I stuck with the 10 oz on the Vliet and Yclept and was happy with both. The French fries were a bit salty but there was a carafe of tap water to help out some. Once we tired of the backyard, or rather--once creatures in their natural habitat chased us indoors, we found the marble slabbed candlelit tables to be just as aesthetically pleasing; creating an overall versatile space for hanging out in the patio or a more intimate experience inside. Brooklyn is a hot bed of breweries and Threes Brewing sticks out amongst them. From the funky tap list to the amazing food they are dishing out Threes must be on your Brooklyn itinerary. Step into the converted warehouse and order food at the walkup window - Farm to table sausage biscuit sandwich was amazing! Tons of flavors I wouldn't have put together myself. The burger was also very flavorful and a good size portion. While you wait for your food, wander back to the bar. 15 beers on tap, mostly theirs, but some of their brewing friends as well. Order a flight and try them all out. There is a cool patio out back. We didn't sit out there, but had great space and some shade. read more

Went to Threes Brewing after work on a Wednesday evening. Really had a chance to try some beers on this visit, and was pleasantly surprised. However, the tendency and the speed in which they morph into loud over-crowded bar every night of the week will never be appealing to me. Quality: I have been to Threes Brewing before, but made it a point to visit at a quieter time to taste more of the menu. I was partially successful, as it was still very busy, but I secured a table and tried my way through six beers. They included, Little Did We Know, Thoughts As Objects, Stasis, Closer To The Point, Everything Was Forever Until It Was No More, and Barrel-Aged Voluntary Exile With Tahitian Vanilla. My highlight was Stasis, an Altbier which brought out good warm flavors. My skip would be Little Did We Know, which was concerning based on the description, and it lived up to it. I came in with relatively low expectations of beer quality, as I feel the reputation as a bar rather than a brewery has spread, but I left pretty impressed with what I had. Quantity: They offer 5oz, 10oz, and 16oz pours of most beers. Value: $3-$11 for Draft Beer depending on size and style. Ambiance: Threes Brewing is located on the edge of Gowanus and Park Slope. Located in a warehouse space, it has a bit of an odd setup, with multiple levels and outdoor spaces. A few tables sit out front, now expanded into the street. Upon entry there is a long walkway, with stairs to go to a small shop and take-out area, as well as a window to the kitchen. Further in is a the main bar area, with an additional set of stairs leading to a private space. They then have a back tented outdoor patio, which was being used for a private event on this evening. Somehow, even with all those areas, every time I visit, I feel like it is too packed, loud, and I am in an uncomfortable position. Crowd: Always packed with a busy bar feel rather than that of a brewery. Part of the reason seems to be large parties always taking up sections of the space. Service: Even early on a weeknight additional bartenders could have been helpful. They do a good job, but never seem prepared for the crowd. Parking: A decent amount of street parking in the area. read more

The service was amazing, one or two waiters attending to all 30 of us and kept the drinks coming all day. We were on a Brooklyn Brewery tour and Threes Brewing made the list. It was a gorgeous Saturday afternoon and I think there was some race that day where runners could come in with their bib number and get a discount. Needless to say, the place was PACKED. The main bar was so full, you could hardly move. A server told us that we could possibly find seats in the cafe upstairs. The upstairs area has a very small seating area that is tucked away and is more low-key and quiet. There is a coffee cafe and also a small bar where you can get beer only. If you want anything other than beer, you have to go to the main bar. We found seats for four of us in a back room off the side of the cafe. It felt a little dodgy upstairs--rickety tables with random chairs, a service entrance of some sort that people kept going in and out of. But at least we had a seat and it was not as hot upstairs as the other areas seemed to be. I made a wine run at the main bar. It took a while to get served with all of those people but I finally succeeded. But it was not worth my time or effort to go back through that mess to get another glass of wine. I tried one of the porters from the bar upstairs. It was good and very reasonably priced. We wanted to try the food but the line for food and the chaos downstairs made us want to leave and find food elsewhere. It was an interesting visit. Friends, I would like to publicly ask you to stop making me come to Threes Brewing. Especially on a Saturday. This place is far, FAR too awesome, and everyone seems to know it. I don't like having to fight people for space at the bar. When I'm forced to stab someone because they barely brushed against my arm and they are too intimidating for fisticuffs,* that's on you because you decided to have your birthday here AGAIN. Seriously, Threes Brewing is the best. Their beer is fantastic, and even if you don't like fresh, deliciously unique, hyperlocal brews, there's a pretty stellar selection beyond their own offerings as well. Also, booze if you don't like beer (except at the bar upstairs, which is sometimes slightly less crowded, so stay away from there unless you're saving me a table). The people are great. Everyone I've ever met from Greg (the head brewer) to Josh (a co-owner) to every server and bartender in the house has been cool. The backyard is fucking fantastic, and legitimately one of the best in all of Brooklyn. And if that isn't enough, there's what seems like a permanent Meat Hook residency in their kitchen right now. The Meat Hook, if you didn't know, used to run the best goddamn sandwich shop in NYC. Unfortunately, they shut it down a while back. So you have to go to the actual meat shop now for sandwiches, OR you could just come here and eat their food here with delicious Threes beer to wash it down (they put melted cheese in the bottom of their pickle plate, which says it all). Your call. So to get back to my original point, no more Threes Brewing on a Saturday, please. Shitholes only. It was obvious they only have the level of food to feed people so they won't die of starving, or the level of salty fries so u can buy more beer. It's really quite unfortunate that the service here is so awful, since the bar itself is decent. A group of 8 of us showed up on a Saturday around 4pm. The place was already super crowded, so we tried the (covered and heated) outdoor space. A couple of us sat at one of the communal tables while others stood around. It was then that this awful waiter (medium height, black hair) roughly shoved us to get by. He then turns around and says to us, in a rude and confrontational manner, "I SAID excuse me. I didn't mean to push you, but also, LOOK at the passageway you left me" (gesturing behind us). First of all, if you want to control the crowded space, talk to your own management, asshat. There were people standing EVERYWHERE. Second of all, how were we supposed to just know that where we were standing was the designated walking path?? It was our first time there. Asshole waiter aside, we ordered and paid for a Meat Hook burger ($14) but they brought to us a veggie burger ($13). When we stopped an employee walking by and notified him, he told us that he was a busboy and doesn't not handle issues with orders, and that we'd have to bring the dish back to the front of the bar for it to be replaced. We didn't feel like waiting in the crowds, and then wait 20 minutes for them to replace the burger, so we just ate it. It actually wasn't bad-tasting; a little under seasoned, but a little ketchup perked it up. All in all, good bar, good food/beer, GARBAGE SERVICE. read more

Stop 2, i think, in our mini brewery tour. A main street kinda place with a nice walkup. There are tables in the front, mainly dining? Maybe. As you walk towards the back you pass the kitchen window and enter the bar area. Nice warm feeling, a dark wood bar. Thats the way bars are supposed to be. We were greeted quickly, handed a menu and the beer is also displayed on the wall. A couple of pints and we moved yo the outside seating in the back. It's nice, picnic tables, smaller tables, plenty of room. We were the first back there, late afternoon. I chuckled over a rules sign. Number 1 was no kids after 7. Hmm, then the parents and wee babies started coming in. Lol, i cant blame them, i guess. Wasnt an issue. But they were on the clock. The food all looked really good, real good. We didnt nosh. Pizza was the plan. NY pizza, sorry Florida. My favorite beer was "far between" an oak aged brew. Very good. A good place. read more
