For context, I rate products and businesses on a simple scale: 5 stars means I love it, 4 stars means I like it, 3 stars is okay, 2 stars means I didn't like it, and 1 star means I hated it or think it's unsafe. Kevin Lanouette of Thresher Cooling in West Palm Beach is the real deal. A few years ago he serviced my old AC system, which was on its last legs. I told him I planned to replace it soon, but he honestly said it could probably wait. That advice helped me stretch the system another two years. When it came time to replace it, I got three other quotes, but I chose Kevin. Not because he was cheapest, but because I knew he does quality work, shows up on time, and treats customers fairly. During installation, he found no C wire for the thermostat. Because I requested it, he added it at no extra cost, keeping his original quote the same. The installation was clean, organized, and much easier to access than my old system. Later, I needed the air handler disconnected and reinstalled on short notice for a flooring project. Kevin rearranged his schedule to make it happen. When a roofing company damaged the condenser, he honestly advised it was cosmetic, but replaced it at my request. Kevin isn't out to make a quick buck. He genuinely looks out for his customers while still running a solid business. He's reliable, honest, and skilled. I met this guy at bowling , he was on the the team we were playing against. I saw the shirt he was wearing was an a/c company. I've been thinking about having a check up done on my unit before it gets very hot. He told me it's his company and that he just opened. His name is kevin by the way. So after we beat his team two out of the three games lol. I asked him what he would charge to check my unit over? He said nothing to just look at. But if it's been awhile since it has had anything done I should have a total maintenance done. That would be around $65.00. That sounds fair to me and had him come over the next day. He showed right on time. That's the first time an a/c guy has ever done that before. I told him that it seems to run more often then before. So he went to work and I made coffee. Kevin said it was a mess but he got it all cleaned up. He add some gas cause was low. I was thinking great the bill just went up. He handed me the bill only $65.00. This is now my a/c guy. Kevin arrived at the scheduled time after first contacting us that he was on his way. We found Kevin to be cordial, neat, covid aware (mask) and highly professional in performing the maintenance check required for our six year old air conditioning units. Thresher Cooling was servicing my A/Cs for over five years. When Kevin was on his vacation my tenant reported that the A/C stop working. Trane techs proposed to replace my A/C unit inside the house for $2,500. Kevin drove from Keys just to help us and found that my tenant did not change the thick air filter almost six month. I recently had The Misfortune of calling One Hour Air Conditioning before calling Thresher to my home for a service call. One Hour Cooling reported that my compressor is broken and I needed to spend over $4,000 to replace my air conditioner. When Thresher was called out for a quote their honest technician informed me that only two wires to the air handler had been disconnected and once he repaired them which he did promptly the air conditioner began working again. I was referred to Kevin at Thresher by a few of my coworkers who had nothing but glowing things to say. Honest. Knowledgeable. Fairly priced. All of which turned out to be true. My a/c died today and I gave his number to my husband who called him up. It's rare that I find the desire to write a review, but after my outstanding experience with Kevin at Thresher Cooling, I wanted to share my experience. I called Thresher Cooling at lunch one afternoon asking if he was available to come out to perform a check-up on my AC system. I was pleasantly surprised when Kevin called back with the hour. I had called another AC company the week before but they didn't return my call until 6 days later. Unacceptable. Kevin was very personable, knowledgeable, and willing to answer all my questions on the phone. We scheduled an appointment for a maintenance the following week,. Kevin confirmed the appointment the morning of with a text saying he was on his way. That was a nice touch. Plus, he was right on time - a huge delight. Kevin performed his inspection and confirmed that my system was low on freon as well as having issues with the evaporator, which I expected. He was able to determine that my evaporator was still under warranty and would be able to replace it under warranty - a huge savings. He topped off the freon and we scheduled a follow-up appointment for him to perform the evaporator swap. The follow-up appointment was preceded with a text informing what time he would arrive. Again, he showed up when promised. Kevin performed his work quickly and with care. He always took the time to answer all my questions and I never felt like he was in a rush. His workmanship is first-class and he went above and beyond by fixing a few other issues that weren't on his original quote. Bottom line, this is the kind of service that we all hope for, but rarely find. It's nice to see an honest, hardworking professional who really cares about his customers by not trying to make a fast buck. Prompt, efficient and courteous service with a fair price too. I live out of state and own a rental. Of course the tenant calls at 10:00 am on Friday morning and said the air isn't working! I called Kevin at Thresher Cooling and he went right over and replaced the blower fan. He had it repaired within a very short time. I have an older unit so I've used Thresher twice before and am impressed with their fast, efficient service.
