Kind of in the middle of nowhere. Not where you would expect contemporary Korean. And yet it was AMAZING.

Amazing!! Food was delicious, service was warm and prompt, and the atmosphere was upscale but inviting at the same time. That Korean fine dining is a thing in the Catskills makes me so happy. Thank you to everyone at the restaurant, including the handsome farmer dining next to me whose cows are used for the tartar.

Wish I could have the Chicken Ssam every night for dinner. Loved the warm service. Definitely would recommend pairing sool with the food!

To be fair we'd read about Kaatskeller and the reviews as well as their menu, so it was on our radar. Ordered two pizzas, which are all 12 inches, so probably defined as personal size, but easily shared by two people. In our case we got two different pies. First up was the smoked trout appetizer that came with house made pita bread straight from the oven. The trout was really good, and the combination with harissa (which you can add or not as you prefer) really worked incredibly well. We sat at the outdoor bar and enjoyed some nice conversation with the bartenders Reuben and Brandon who were incredibly nice. We ate on a late Sunday afternoon, so the crowd was smaller than a prime Friday or Saturday, so there was no issue with waiting for our entree pizzas. Once the 'zas arrived, the crust was excellent - it was clearly fermented for multiple days and had wonderful flavor on it's own. It was on the thin side, but not cracker. I chose the "My Italian Friend" which featured Prosciutto, garlic, onion, parmesan, tomato, and basil. It was fantastic - cooked perfectly, close to that Neapolitan style, but yet still seeming to channel a good NYC pie. Hard to explain but it worked well. The other was the White Album pizza (shoutout Beatles reference) which featured ramp pesto. We both felt that this wasn't as good as it should be (or, we had higher expectations for ramps than they delivered). The fundamentals of the pizza were still solid. Fun cocktails, decent beer selection, staff was attentive and interested, and pizza was broadly really good. Highly reccomend!

The place is still charming as ever, with excellent beverages and bites in a funky garden setting behind a Main Street storefront. Today we had a lovely glass of orange wine -- I'm no wine connoisseur so won't attempt to describe it, but it was enjoyable. Also tried Porch Beer" from Arrowood brewery in Kerhokson which was a refreshing sour.We liked both a lot. Food is provided by a separate entity operating out of a tent in. the back. We lucked out on a strong array of vegetarian options since there was some issue with the pork supplier. We had a peanut tostada! and two kinds of veg tamales, one of which was made from red corn masa. All were as delicious as they were unusual. There is no table service anymore; you order at the bar and at the food tent, but everyone is friendly and courteous. Music was terrific, which I recall from last year. Just relaxing, feel good, low key tunes. Just a little chill happy making afternoon snack. Highly recommended.

There is lovely live music being played 5 feet in front of us. The outdoor wood urine oven, fresh vegetables and lovely drinks add to the entire experience. Hidden gem!

The hotel itself is cozy, full of charming little spaces, and we truly felt pampered throughout our stay. It's pet-friendly (huge plus!), and everyone was incredibly kind to my dog--he had the best time exploring the hiking trails with me. The vibe is very relaxed, peaceful, and the perfect place to disconnect from the world. Now for the real star of the show: the food. We did the tasting menu and it was so good. I loved the intention behind each dish and how they highlighted seasonal ingredients and the local farm sources. My personal favorites were the mushroom dish and the venison--both were phenomenal. The staff was warm, attentive, and did a great job walking us through each course. A few small observations: The dining room was a little too dark--I love seeing my food, especially when it's so beautifully presented. Since it was my birthday, I expected a bit more than a lone candle. No cookie, treat, or even a candle placed on top of dessert--it just didn't feel special. Dessert wasn't for me. It was somewhere between a milkshake and ice cream, but with a strange mochi-like texture and an overpowering amount of lavender. It felt like eating soap. The quail course tasted amazing, but the presentation wasn't appealing. It looked a bit messy, and leaving the head on (even though it wasn't edible) felt off. That said, everything was incredible--thoughtfully crafted, delicious, and visually stunning. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and the whole experience. Highly recommend--can't wait to return!

My party of 4 was a little early, so we had a drink in the tavern downstairs first; bartender made a great whisky sour. For dinner, we did the a la carte menu. I tried: + Cabbage + Ricotta toast + Grilled broccoli + Mangalista pork chop + Ricotta dumpling + Cheeseburger + Spiced cake The highlights were the cabbage, pork chop and burger. Overall I thought the food was excellent, though I wished they offered sides (especially some type of a potato for the burger). Would have gladly paid for additional sides a la carte.
