Well, this was disappointing, to say the very least. I ordered a bouquet of flowers 2 days ago for my cousin on her birthday, which is today. Funds are tight atm, so I thought "Thrifty" florist would be the way to go. Boy was I wrong. It was bad enough that a $25 dollar bouquet turned into $55 by the time they added all their fees and taxes. But they had the nerve to wait until TODAY at 2 PM to call me and let me know that my cousin is out of their delivery area so it is an extra $24. When I objected, the person I spoke with told me (with a snooty tone in her voice) that it is on their fine print that deliveries out of their area cost more. OK, well first of all, they need to develop a system on their website that - when you enter the delivery address - it should tell you right away that area will cost more. Secondly, WHY would they wait until 2 pm on the day of to call me???? As if all of that isn't bad enough, here is the final insult - she let me know they might not be able to deliver it today. WHAT? I said, well, I'm not paying another $24 just to have it delivered a day late. So, she put me on hold to check, and came back and said the person left for the day so it won't go out until tomorrow. This is absolutely shoddy customer service. Had I known any of this I would have went with any other florist. So, I recommend to you that you avoid ordering anything from "Thrifty" florist. They are NOT "Thrifty" and they clearly don't care if the flowers are delivered on time. I will never order from this company again. read more

So disappointed, I've been shopping here for years. Place my order in person 2 days prior to wife's bday and requested early delivery. Was told I couldn't specify time on residential delivery, ok. On the day of.... I ended up calling 2 mins before closing that I have not seen/heard a thing. I was told that my order was not placed as a delivery order?, they were about to close and can she call me back in the morning?(T-giving day!) They didn't call me, I ended up calling them AGAIN to see how they were gonna make it right? I had my choice of a refund or they could deliver my special order tomorrow (2 days after her bday!). The staff are friendly but it would be nice if they made the flower arrangements a little bit better. I like to visit flower shops and see how they arrange flowers because I have an interest for them. But seeing how they deal with the flowers aren't that satisfying. I've seen how others dealt with flowers because they are fragile. I went to Kroger's after for fillers because the flowers there were more healthy and for a great price. read more

Needed a bouquet for a graduation and wanted yellow lilies instead of the white that were already wrapped. Florist said she could do it for me. I was in such a rush that I didn't even check to see if the flowers were good. That's my fault for not checking, but the florist is the one who handles the flowers. She should have noticed how ugly and damaged the lilies were and voiced her opinion about them. So disappointing. UPDATE: Just came back and another florist convinced me to exchange them. I only wish they would've been more careful the first time when selecting the flowers. read more

Tried them out for the first time the other day for our anniversary and have nothing but praise for them. I went inside their store which is smaller inside than what you would think, but it's filled with all kinds of flowers and gifts. I picked out a dozen roses and told the lady I wanted them with baby's breath. She pruned each stem and put them along with baby breath and some greenery inside florist paper so just the tips of the flowers were showing. Looked very very nice. The price was VERY competitive! I will be using them again for Mother's Days coming up! read more

First of all, I really love the merchandise and everyone is very friendly, but just be VERY CAREFUL when walking in the store. I find it unfortunate that the hours on Yelp and other sites state that this location is open until 8pm on week nights, as this was not my experience this evening. I made a mad dash from work to this location only to find that the CLOSED sign was up and their doors were already locked at 7:45 despite both online information AND the sign in the window that clearly stated that they were open until 8pm. I realize that this was 15 minutes before closing and I can respect the desire to not be trapped at work for longer than necessary, but business hours are business hours. If you have to clean and close down the registers, do as much as you can before hand and then finish after regular business hours. Your extra 15 minutes that evening resulted in a huge inconvenience on my part and a wasted effort. I, too, had worked a long day and went out of my way to make a stop here only to be locked out while the store was technically open. I realize I am not an expert on running a florist, but I have worked both retail and at a greenhouse, and never in my experience were we ever told or allowed by management to shut things down early. I think it's permissible to lock the doors at 8pm, remind lingering customers that the location closes at 8pm and show them out following their shopping/purchasing, but I think it's straight up rude to advertise one thing and do something else. If you're open until 8, you're open until 8. Why would I continue to shop at a location whose hours aren't dependable? This store lost a $60 sale this evening and my future business. read more

I made my purchase online that had to be delivered the same day and the girl who made up my order called me to reassure my order would be on time and exactly as ordered which it was. (A bird bath planter) It looked beautiful! Thank you! I will definitely be a repeat customer here! Another reviewer wrote they were closed 15 minutes early when she raced over there from work but who does that in this day of smart phones and computers. She should have called to give them a heads up she would be barging in with a last minute order which is very rude on her part and also should have given them some idea of what she would want. She was upset they had closed a little early but didnt mind if they had to stay open later for her shopping convenience. Florists are like artists with their creations and need some time to create. Maybe she much should get her much needed items at Kroger or Meijers florist section, they are open past 8pm. read more

Getting married? Thinking about using Thrifty Florist for your flowers? DON'T DO IT !!!!!! My fiance and I sat down for an hour and a half consultation with the manager here at the 12 mile and Schoennerr location, while I was in from out of state. She was nice, we went over everything and gave her original pictures of flowers we arrangements we really liked. We left feeling good. Until I finally called her a few weeks later, since we had never received a quote. She had lost ALL of our information, preferences, pictures, everything. Didn't really get an apology either. We then tried another Thrifty Florist location, at 13 mile and Ryan in Warren. The manager there, Irene, "forgot" our appointment, had left for the day. Another staff member reached her by phone, she did not seem to want to come back to meet us for the appointment, since it looked like rain! I have never encountered such an unprofessionally run establishment! I can't believe they are still in business!!!!! read more
