The address in El Monte. Posted 11/27/20

Note: This review is for the ice cream not the location. Thrifty PayLess Holdings, Inc. was a pharmacy holding company that owned the Thrifty Drugs and PayLess Drug Store chains in the western United States. In 1996, Rite Aid acquired 1,000 West Coast stores from Thrifty PayLess. Rite Aid has kept the Thrifty Ice Cream name alive. It's just recently brought this delicious ice cream to my Rite Aid downstairs in my apartment building. I bought the Vanilla for Thanksgiving at my daughters request. She said that was the traditional flavor to go with our Apple Pie. It has a delicious flavor that reminds me of the ice cream when I was a child. The ingredients are not complicated. I've taken screenshots for you of the package. I love the cute package too. I'm recommending Thrifty when you are in the mood for ice cream. I'm going to try the other flavors. This ice cream was created in 1940! That's another reason I recommend. It's got a long history. I'm certainly thankful to Rite Aid for bringing it to Manhattan! It's really sweet when it's on sale!

SUPER FREAKING DISAPPOINTED! I just bought chocolate chip cookie dough and i don't know what the hell they did! Because now the ice cream is just freaking chocolate chip. What the hell did they do? Did They just get lazy and threw cookie dough in the chocolate chip ice cream!!??? I feel so disrespected!

What is it named? Fauve?

Somethings just beg to be taken out of the freezer case. Case in point. Close your eyes and taste. If you gave it a trendy name...perhaps Vanille Bourbon. That would work. Not always such a great price but this week 2 for $5.

ICE CREAM FACTORY HERE! Sweetest of the Sweets! I remember 5 cents, 10 cents and 15 cents for a triple scoop. This address is for the Thrifty Ice Cream Factory!Have you been here? If not, it is a grand site to see Thrifty Ice Cream trucks and the old logo. For me, Rite Aid sucks. The only thing that chain has to offer is this ice cream. I read several reviews on here about peoples favorite ice cream....but DOUBLE CHOCOLATE MALTED CRUNCH is the Shizzel and the best. Sweet sweet delicious ice cream!!!!!!!!!

It's a small shop with a few tables, but luckily, we came at a time when it wasn't too crowded. We ordered the ube and matcha swirl as well as a taiyaki with cookie butter. The cashier was quick and friendly. Total came out to $9 which is pricey in my opinion, but I thought the taste would make up for it. Ube and matcha swirl: Honestly, the ice cream was just okay. I definitely could taste the ube flavor, but the matcha flavor was weak. Additionally, the ice cream was not creamy. It was slightly icey. Somisomi's ice cream is much creamier, so I was disappointed with With Love's quality. Taiyaki with cookie butter: I really liked their taiyaki! It was crispy and slightly sweet. The cookie butter was great, but I just wish there was more filling. I do think their taiyaki is better than Somisomi's! Overall, With Love was a nice place to try for the first time, but I don't think I'll be back. I still prefer Somisomi, especially since they are actually cheaper than With Love with better quality.

My personal favorite was the honey lavender but all of them were tasty and refreshing. What I liked about all the ones we tried was that everything tasted non-artificial. I have been going to Moo Moo Mia for a while now and it has been one of my favorite delights when it comes to craft ice cream. They offer monthly flavors along with some more original staples and lets be honest, with summer looming, knowing a great ice cream spot is always a must. There are monthly flavors so I recommend swinging by early in the month to check out what great flavors they have cooked up. At the time of my visit, I was hooked on the Strawberry Koldski which was inspired by the Danish roots and a mix of sweet and tart Strawberry. I got a double and I simply wanted more. My go to, is the Oreo and Cream which is one of the best Cookies and Cream variants I have ever had. Everyone is super nice and you can have tastings of the different flavors until you land on one. Trust me, some flavors hit on different days! The shop is in the famous Monrovia shopping area, which adds to the allure of visiting. Parking is free and sitting and having a cup of ice cream in one of the benches is such a treat. Swing by and chill and enjoy some great ice cream! Cheers!

I tried the lychee and matcha soft serve flavors, and ended up getting the matcha flavor. Those flavors were good, the lychee and matcha were pungent. But the texture of the soft serve wasn't my favorite. The texture wasn't my favorite, it was more of an icy texture as oppose to a creamy silky texture which I would have preferred. I usually like the Oreo topping on my soft serve since it gives it a crunch, but it just didn't taste that good after a few bites. This soft serve was also a bit pricey, it was around $7 for the soft serve and topping, which was a bit disappointing since it wasn't that great. My friend also got their crunchy nut ice cream and didn't like it. I wish I liked this place more since they have Asian flavors but unfortunately it wasn't my favorite. Maybe if they improve the texture of their soft serve, I would reconsider.

I say, "what does that mean??" He said they can only make 1 of my 3 drinks and i would have to choose 2 more that are not blended. I tell him to give me a dew minutes, i then proceed to request 2 new drinks... he then tells me they are out of boba. ‍‍‍ At this point i told him to just give me 2 random drinks. I am not going to sit there all night only to be told they are out of stuff or their machines are not working. One blender? I mean if this is your bread and butter, i would suggest getting a 2nd blender, even if it's a crappy one from Walmart for $35. This is like a hamburger stand telling you they don't have a grill to make a burger. Also, out of boba on a Tuesday (off night??) Stock up. Who's doing inventory? I was more angry at the fact that they let over 30 minutes go by and didn't tell me via email or phone call that the blender was down. I would canceled my order and promptly received a refund... i hope. I wasn't offered any kind of remedy. No partial refund, no refund, no extra drinks. Just your kinda outta luck. We don't have the proper tools to make you a drink. I will never return here again. I used to like this place and even used to come here when they offered 3 drinks for the price of 2. After spending $20 on 3 drinks (2 of them not even being my choice). I will forever skip this place for the humongous disappointment and terrible service. There are boba places all around this area.
