Visited this place on a Saturday evening it wasn't too busy, we were assisted promptly and the service was friendly. So far so good. Unfortunately, this might have been a case of reality vs expectations. The description on yelp says, "rolled ice cream and soft serve with seasonal flavors." Many of the photos also show soft serve with different toppings. Well, what we received was not what we expected. A small scoop of ice cream with a "homemade" waffle cone that smelled oddly chemical. The ice cream itself was fine but I definitely would not be going out of my way for it and I definitely would not pay $5.50 for that scoop again.
compared to the pictures online, the scoop was soo tiny. the scoop was literally the size of a golf ball. if I wanted to I can definitely shove that scoop in one go down my mouth. I cannot believe I spent over $7 on this scoop of ice cream. yes the icecream was good but it was definitely not worth my $7. I got it an hour ago and I am still mad about it. if u see pictures online in your head imagine it to be like 3 times smaller. also the cashier asked me if I wanted toppings or if I wanted to self serve. the toppings I said no too, but yes to the serf serve. and I was charged extra. it was lowk misleading bc the lady did not tell me it was extra. now I know what yall may ne thinking, it's common sense that it costs extra. but she made it seem as if it came with. so I'm furious. anw if u want a sample sized scoop and are willing to spend a buttload of money, fill free to come here!
I was in the area and wanted dessert with my friend after dinner so we walked over to The Pond for some ice cream. We both got the hojicha soft serve in a cup. Before deciding on this flavor, I was indecisive since I never tried it before so the employee actually offered samples for us to try. I appreciated that. The menu was a bit confusing at first to figure out the pricing. Ambiance was cool with pretty lights on the windows and back wall. You can a stamp for each dessert item; buy 10 get one free. For $6.50, the soft serve was not worth the price though. Toppings were not free at 0.99 cents each. The cup wasn't even filled to the brim with the soft serve. It was worth trying and for the cute pic but don't think I'll come back.
I paid $6.75 for a scoop of vanilla and lemon sorbet. I had to wait 20 MINUTES for one scoop of vanilla and some ice cream on the side the slightly resembled a squished slather of lemon sorbet. The ratio of vanilla to lemon sorbet was 5 to 1. The vanilla took up 90 percent of the cup. When the server put down the cup, her face expressed that she had fought a difficult battle while scooping ice cream. She practically slammed the cup down with a dramatic sigh. In other ice cream shops, the server either points to where the spoons are, or give you a spoon. This server didn't even look at me. I had to find the spoons myself. Now some of you might call me lazy. Perhaps, but at ice cream shops you expect at least some form of manners. All in all, would not recommend unless you're looking for a long wait and unproportional meal. No wonder this place is so empty all the time.
Stopped by to try a new dessert spot. I'm obsessed with everything matcha so of course I had the matcha soft serve in a cup with mochi and coconut flakes. It was not sweet and definitely captured that matcha flavor which I thoroughly enjoyed. They have soft serve, rolled ice cream, and scooped ice cream. Only downside is they only offered 3 soft serve flavors, but great as they had 6 rolled flavors and 6 scooped flavors. Wouldn't recommend the scoops as they were super tiny. Saw someone order a single scoop and it looked like the portion size was for a toddler. My husband tried the affogato which was not good. Scoops were so tiny and espresso shots were super strong, possibly burnt. There was no balance and it really should come in a drinkable cup considering the type of dessert. I appreciated the seasonal and rotating flavors which would keep me coming back. They also had waffle cones in a couple of flavors. They add a little goldfish and pocky stick as their signature. The parking lot was small and completely full on a Sunday evening due to there being several local businesses sharing the same lot. We had to find some street parking. The inside itself is small but cute there were a couple of tables with seats and a little window bar seating area too.
Cute little shop with a very small parking lot hidden behind the row of stores (around 8 spots in total, if I recall correctly). The theme continuity throughout the store had me cracking up the whole time. For some reason, the past hype surrounding rolled ice cream has quite literally been wiped off the face of Southern California. I've never been the biggest ice cream fan, but I love the texture of rolled ice cream. I was originally excited to try out this store, since I saw a few Asian flavors offered (ex. matcha) on past menu photos. Once I actually arrived, the only flavors listed on the menu for rolled ice cream were vanilla and chocolate. Server was accommodating and added strawberries to mash into the vanilla. Ended up eating the strawberry rolled ice cream with 3 free toppings (mango, strawberry and mochi). The list of toppings offered was extensive. The cut-up mango tasted extremely sour and not very tender, even though it was mid-mango season when I went. The singular goldfish cracker placed on top had me cackling. Overall, I thought what I got satisfied my craving for rolled ice cream. If anyone knows of other hidden locations with rolled ice cream, please let ya girl know!! :')
I really enjoyed the simple cute decors at this ice cream spot. Yelp check in gives a free coke upgrade meaning you can get something like the charcoal cone for free! I tried the milk tea soft serve which was actually really on point to how milk tea tastes. Also tried the dark pineapple which was pretty much just pineapple but black colored. Flavor wise this place hit the spot. The different cone flavors is pretty awesome too, definitely try out the charcoal cone. I will say the price here is a bit more on the pricey side for ice cream, it's like $8 for soft serve and a cone upgrade but it is located in Arcadia. Definitely want to try the waffle next time!
Rarely am I ever catfished by a menu item... My mom, brother, and I came here last week because we were craving something sweet on a hot day. I was eyeing the soft serve section of the menu, cookie dough in particular because I love cookie dough. Usually, cookie dough flavors are a kind of cream color, but here at Pond Ice Cream, it was bright blue! It should be named Cookie Monster, or my brother suggested Smurf. It was sweet, inside hollow (photos attached) made my lips and tongue blue, and tasted more like cotton candy than cookie dough. I believe the price was $6.50. My mom and brother each got rolled ice cream, priced $9, but is a large serving. My mom got ube, and my brother got chocolate. Both were delicious but so big and sweet they couldn't finish the whole cup. Service: nice friendly blonde young lady. She gave us a breakdown of the whole menu after we told her it was our first time. She was patient with us when we were choosing what to order. Not sure if the place is hiring, but she looked a bit lonely since we went during not-so-busy hours. The rolled ice creams also took some time because it was just her. I would also add that there are mostly high tables inside, and the chairs are almost as high as the tables themselves which were a bit uncomfortable. Parking: there is a good size parking lot in the back. Street parking is also available I believe.
Came here for dessert just to try it out. They have a lot of really cool asian soft serve flavors like white rose - not too sweet and very refreshing. I got the ube rolled ice cream with frosted flakes, coconut crunch and mochi. It came out to $13.75! I have never tried rolled ice cream before so I wanted to just have it at least once. The ice cream was pretty good but nothing mind blowing. Adding the coconut crunch and frosted flakes really helped give it some texture. The place itself is really cute and would be a nice place to hangout. I don't think I would come back specifically for the ice cream but the vibe was nice :)
A scoop of vanilla ice cream was $7 plus. It just taste like a store bought ice cream. The almond topping has rancid smell to it.
The fuck - I paid 6 plus dollars for the smallest scoop of sorbet I've ever been served! And the ice cream is so mediocre! Not worth it!!!!! They failed to tell me that 2 scoops is 6.50! Wtf is up with that pricing!!? I was so in shock I left and didn't even get a spoon! I ate my sad little sorbet in the car with the flimsy little pocky! Why would you put chocolate pocky and one sad gold fish on a lemon flavored sorbet??? I am aghast!
Honestlyyyy, I was hoping to like this place but I didn't like it :( The ice cream itself was very icy and not creamy/milky at all - but if that's your preference then you'd like it! I got the black dole whip, but I couldn't taste much flavor at all. It tasted like ice to me unfortunately. I was hoping that the texture would be more creamy and thick, but that wasn't the case. There's a small parking lot next to sharetea.
I came here with a friend after dinner to get some dessert. There was no line, so we were able to try some samples and order right away. I tried the lychee and matcha soft serve flavors, and ended up getting the matcha flavor. Those flavors were good, the lychee and matcha were pungent. But the texture of the soft serve wasn't my favorite. The texture wasn't my favorite, it was more of an icy texture as oppose to a creamy silky texture which I would have preferred. I usually like the Oreo topping on my soft serve since it gives it a crunch, but it just didn't taste that good after a few bites. This soft serve was also a bit pricey, it was around $7 for the soft serve and topping, which was a bit disappointing since it wasn't that great. My friend also got their crunchy nut ice cream and didn't like it. I wish I liked this place more since they have Asian flavors but unfortunately it wasn't my favorite. Maybe if they improve the texture of their soft serve, I would reconsider. read more
Ice cream all season!! My coworker said she's craving ice cream and we got ice cream. Stopped by this small chilled treat shop in Arcadia and ordered the soft serve. Cute little shop for the indoor decor, there are benches and tables/chairs. Great for friends and family to hang out. Staffs are friendly and patiently introducing the menu to us. We sat down and got our treats shortly. Mango soft serve on a sugar cone Watermelon soft serve in a cup Very fruity and fresh. My friend said the sugar cone tastes really good and crunchy. So we finally tried this place because the last few times we went here they were closed but said it was open online and on their hours posted. We honestly wished it was closed when we tried it this evening. Water based soft served. This is a sorbet not soft serve with dairy. A Sorbet. It wasn't even soft served with creaminess. I don't know how to describe it honestly. The charcoal is citrusy flavored. We got it with a waffle cone that was already leaking in the bottom when the employee handed it to us. Hence why my significant other has napkins on the bottom of the cone. (See photo below) The charcoal is like it's almost as if they put the mixed fruity flavor in the machine but mixed with charcoal powder. The blue cookie. Where is the cookie? WHERE. IS. IT?! Again, another water based almost icy "soft served" that's not soft what so ever. I got it with the bubble waffle and Frosted Flakes as the topping. Did I mention that both the charcoal "soft served" with waffle cone and blue cookie "soft served" with a bubble waffle and Frosted Flakes topping was $21 (we tipped also to help support small businesses but sheesh) as much as I love dessert we didn't finish either of these so called treats because it just wasn't good or what others would say, "it wasn't the vibe." The server was nice she let us try different flavors but we tasted coconut in the choconut ice cream flavor and she said it was hazelnut. Boyfriend and I literally took out pieces of coconut from our taster to prove to each other that there was coconut. Again it wasn't creamy ice cream either. Lack luster ice cream. Located next to Share Tea, a cute little spot for dessert. The offer soft serve ice cream and hand rolled ice creams. You're able to sample some of the soft serve flavors as well. The matcha and milk tea were able to be swirled together and they also offered vanilla, black dole whip the day we went as well. You get get 2 flavors that aren't swirled and it would just go on top of each other. 1 free topping also comes with it. Soft serve is around $6 and hand rolled ice cream around $8. Definitely a spot to rotate into your ice cream dessert! Tip- the soft serve does melt fast, especially on hot days, so your cone will get soft pretty quickly and break. read more

Drove here for some ice cream at 6:40pm on Feb. 18th and they were closed. Had to find somewhere else to go for ice cream after my date night. There was a sign that said closed for two weeks check back Feb. 15th. read more

A very cute, small ice cream store with unique flavors! I will admit, the menu isn't super large so if you're particular about flavors, check the menu ahead of time on their website or even call. I was a little sad that the flavors I wanted weren't available the day I went. I chose the black dole. Despite its appearance, its quite tart and lots of pineapple flavor. It was refreshing and tasty which was perfect with my evening walk. I'd definitely try other things at this place again. read more

Tried the black dole whip which was interesting! I thought it would taste a little different, but its really just dole whip. It was good though! I also tried the very berry. It was a bit sour for me. You also get one topping for free such as oreos and frosted flakes. The staff was so nice! He really took the time to explain the different flavors, put the toppings on the soft serve, and was very friendly. Came on a sunday night where there were a lot of free parking in the back. There was only one extrance and exit. It may be difficult when packed since there are other stores in this plaza. read more

I really wanted to like this place. Had good reviews and staff seemed really friendly. However, our milkshake and churros were really bad. Never had a watery milkshake before. It tasted like they didn't even use ice cream, like it was just milk, ice, and oreos. Ordered original churros and got Oreo. Flavor was bland, and some pieces had Oreo dust and others were completely plain. When we ordered, there was no line, but with two people working, we still waited about 15min for these 2 items. Who doesn't love soft serve ice cream? And especially when it comes with a Yelp check-in deal of a free charcoal cone upgrade! Cash is king here or else they'll charge you $0.50 for using a debit or credit card. There are only flour flavors per day. On the day I visited, they had: banana, chocolate, "Summer" (a tropical flavor) and root beer. They will always have one vegan & one dairy free choice. Your first topping is free. My banana soft serve in a charcoal cone was delicious! They have a shared parking lot with ShareTea and there is a gender-neutral restroom. I'll be back to try more flavors! I think parking can be hard since the one located in the back is tiny. But, I went late so that wasn't a problem. This shop is located right next to sharetea. I got the earl grey swirl. No toppings, but it comes with a gold fish and chocolate pocky stick. Ear grey 3.5/5: I wasn't a huge fan of this flavor, but other people liked it a lot. I personally feel like it missed the earl grey notes and ended up being more fruity. The shop is small so you have go inside where the tables are to see the register. The lady is sweet. My sister and I came here recently, she got the dole whip in a cup and I got a matcha soft serve with almonds in a cone. The service was great and very fast. I will definitely recommend and be returning. They have all kinds of soft serves and a lot of flavors to choose from. Where I can never find matcha soft serve. So, I will return soon! read more
I always wanted to try to Charcoal waffle cone! Currently they are serving four flavors, Milk Tea, Vietnamese Coffee, Lychee, and Milk Tea. Ice cream is soft serve. :: Dessert:: I got Ube in a charcoal waffle cone but I regretted it because I didn't like the taste when I sampled it. It has a weird after taste. I should have got the Milk Tea or Vietnamese coffee. The Lychee tasted like Lychee which my daughter liked. You get one free topping so I tried condensed milk. To top it off, one of the staff added a green tea poke stick and a goldfish. My daughter got the Lychee and Uber swirl with sprinkles. More like a 2.5 stars, but I'm rounding up since I'm a sucker for the cute ducky aesthetic! There's parking around the back, but this place shares it with a Sharetea and I think a hot pot place? We came on a Thursday night and there were a couple spots available. Can't comment on if it gets fisted during Fridays or the weekend. When we came, there were only 2 flavors available: black sesame and PB& J (the current mystery flavor). I'll be honest, we were a tad disappointed, probably because we were expecting something similar to Big Softee. We got both of the flavors: 1) Black Sesame on charcoal cone with Oreo topping: -not too sweet and not too sandy (an issue that I've had with other black sesame soft serve) -it's nice, but nothing too mind blowing -I actually enjoyed the cone much more than the ice cream itself. It had a slight coconut taste to it! 2) PB&J Mystery Flavor with graham cracker dust: -you taste the jelly flavor first and then you get some slight peanut butteriness -it tasted more like a frozen yogurt than a soft serve ice cream -it was mediocre to me, but my friend didn't like it Honestly, both ice creams melted SUPER fast. I wanted to like this place, but it could use some improvement. Overall it's a nice new place inside with modern decorations. There's a couch inside and that's cool. For changes, first I like the idea that every month the flavors available change. I wish though that there were some flavors that are always available like strawberry, chocolate, or pineapple. Universal flavors everyone likes. I came and they had a "London Fog" flavor. When asked what it was the cashier told me it taste like Earl Grey tea...who wants to eat that? Lol There was "Thai tea" flavor which was okay. I got the "Matcha" flavor, because it seemed the more popular of the flavors available. I think it's cool having "unique" flavors, if they're actually good. Second change, would be the waffle dot cone. It was freshly made, but the heat from the cone caused my frozen yogurt to melt quickly. Third change, is the frozen yogurt's consistency. Mine was super soft. I wish it hard with a thicker consistency, maybe that would stop it from melting so fast. Attached to my review is what I ordered. It was good for about the first minute before the waffle cone melted the frozen yogurt. Lol If I do come next time, I'll just get a cup and call ahead to see what flavors are available. read more
