Dr. Nic treated me while I was pregnant, and after I had my baby. While pregnant, I had debilitating lower back pain. Dr. Nic took time to listen to me while I explained the pain, and what aggravated it, then did gentle adjustments and kinesio tape. I had a lot of anxiety seeing a chiropractor while pregnant, but within minutes of talking with Dr. Nic, my anxiety was relived. He was very gentle and completely relieved my pain! My only regret is not seeing him sooner in my pregnancy. After having my baby, I developed really bad wrist and lower back pain. I couldn't bend over to pick up my baby or hold him because of the pain in my wrist. I have been a critical care nurse for 25 years. It's a physically demanding job and is notorious for wrecking havoc on the backs of the nurse. I have coming to formerly known as 20/20 Chiropractic for the last 4 months since my high speed car accident. Since I started they recently became Thrive 20/20 last month or so.. First of all I have to say Dr. Jason Bauer the past owner was super welcoming and accommodating. He was always cheerful and comforting. I also like the over all hip feeling of the office of team & community. However there were some issues. There was some booking issues & thanks Jason for the flowers. The office always seemed over booked and in result - the doctors always seemed in a rush. Since I'm young & very healthy this is my first Chiropractor place so I didn't know much of what was better or worse. Sometimes I had questions and sometimes I feel like didn't have a chance to even ask them. I kind of felt tossed in and even faster tossed out. And even though i was slowly but consistently feeling better. I just didn't feel great about my progress or the journey. NOW, since the new ownership of Kauffman Chiropractic, Inc... Doctor Rosen has came into my life. To be honest the first day I was going to be adjusted I was very skeptical of seeing a new face. I remember asking him a bunch of questions and thinking he seemed to be too timid to be great. I think I was rather pissed I wasn't going to see Jason. I'm a person of habits and patterns and I don't like change much. By the end of our session we had spent over 30 min trying my first round of stem and asking more questions about treatment and process. At the end of the first visit I accepted him as okay. Now for my second and third visit, they were 30 min or longer too. And each time I learned more and more about my recovery journey and also options about other treatments and opinions about treatments my spine specialist is suggesting. Now when I come in feel like I pampered princess. I love that Doctor Rosen takes the time to hear about my progress, pain spots, suggest exercises, go thru the exercises with me, push me thru them. Take this review with a grain of salt - I'm an athlete and have been seeing great chiros for a couple decades now, so this is based on needing sports chiro level work. This place is fine for everyday chiro - they have all the gadgets - the table that loosens your back for 10 min, the Stem to pulse your muscles to relax things, the acupressure point gun thing, etc. But the actual adjustment was HARSH. And for me the best chiros can feel where you're misaligned and it doesn't take major massive movement to get you right. I felt literally scared after the first adjustment and was glad when it was over. All that said, if you've got basic stuff going on form regular every day life, they have a wide array of modalities to address across PT chiro and massage and are very customer oriented towards newbies in terms of explaining how things work. read more

They are 10x more busy than the other office, but somehow I receive MORE effective service here, get treated with respect from both doctors, and they are completely transparent about pricing. The office layout is clean, open, has some calming "zen" going on. The consultation and X-ray was thorough. Dr. Doyle took my pain seriously. She looked for structural problems, comparing my X-ray to normal /average skeletons. She spoke in terms that were easy to understand and was never condescending. She pointed out two major issues that are obvious to me only now, that went completely overlooked before. I've had cryo and adjustments about 3x week for about a month now. They're done during drop in times that are flexible with my ever changing schedule. Both doctors are excellent. You're in and out quickly, but I don't ever feel like they're rushing through my treatment. Overall I'm able to work for longer periods of time, and the intensity of the back and neck pain has dropped. But I will say after a few adjustments I now have pain running up my wrist. I can't say enough about Thrive. I had been to a few chiropractic clinics before finding thrive. I have quite a complicated chronic pain history in multiple regions. Dr. Nic has been very effective in treating me and relieving my symptoms. He's excellent in muscle work and his adjustments are exceedingly skilled. What I love most is that Dr. Nic tailors each treatment with your current symptoms and always ask for feedback. He's open to using the techniques that's most comfortable for you as the patient, as he's aware that one size doesn't fit all. I had never visited a chiropractor before, but my husband randomly (but fortuitously!) won a raffle at our apartment building for 2 gift cards so when I started to have some neck pain and tension headaches from working at the computer for too long, I finally paid a visit. And, wow, since then it's been magical. Being in the healthcare field myself, it's remarkable that I was not well aware of this field and what it could do. But now I'm definitely a believer! First of all, I never made the direct connection between tension headaches and cervical spinal misalignment, but it makes a lot of sense. Muscles get tensed up and try to bring your bone back into alignment, eventually triggering the nerves as well. Of course there are a number of reasons that could cause headaches and neck pain, but for me, as soon as I got my first adjustment, my pain relief was INSTANTaneous. I had been getting massages dozens of times but this really felt like it was fixing the problem at its source and the tension was released. By the way, alignments are a large part of what they do at a chiro, where what I'd say they "crackle" (highly medical term) your neck and spine back into place. Dr. Bauer is amazing at what he does and has a fantastic demeanor. Dr. Doyle is also excellent and patiently explains everything thoroughly! Before coming here I had visited a previous chiropractor but the drive to Palo alto was a bit much. So I yelped and found thrive. I came in here for a hip injury I got during my workouts with my coach. I was not properly stretching before and after workouts which I've have learned the hard way is very necessary especially when trying to go heavier. I did what your not supposed to do..........pushed through the pain in my workouts and of course made the problem worse to the point I could not lift my leg without sharp pain, do simple stretches without pain, walk without pain and sadly had to not workout for about a week. With all that being said, they give you a tour and explain the variety of treatments they provide for every visit. They are very professional, kind and the doctor is also great and answers all of my questions. It's not just a quick adjustment and they send you off. They offer laser treatment, muscle stretches, adjust you and a variety of other treatment in one visit. One thing I will say is, do expect INSTANT results, like Many things this takes time, consistency and do your stretches. I am 3-4 visits in and I am 96% to pain free hip movement! After my Groupon deal expired (2 weeks) I've been contemplating on returning for a month, but in the end I decided not to return. Hear me out, my decision was not based on the quality of service rather accessibility and fit in my busy lifestyle. My work schedule, I play in a league twice a week, and go to the gym twice a week, and Fridays to Sundays I'm usually out of town. All that and the area is a bit awkward for me to get to coming up from south of the area. Never mind all that. I'll tell you why you should go, and it's quite easy really. My first impression is how well they are set up. They've figured out customers want, and to me that meant to be able to freely and easily visit for adjustments by offering a unique business model for this industry. Unlimited adjustments and drop ins are very enticing and drew me to 2020. Then comes the service. Not only is their customer service and friendliness reminiscent of an old friend, the knowledge and ability of Dr Bauer and Dr Doyle is amazing. If you live or work in the North San Jose area and you're looking to get your back worked on, give 2020 a chance. Oh, and if you like wine I've been clued in on them making Thirsty Thursdays a semi-regular event. Yes you heard right, get your wine fix and get your back cracked at the same place! I am very happy with my treatments here because they are so effective. Dr. Rosson always take the time to address each issue with my neck, back and shoulders. He also takes the time to answer any questions I may have and offers advice about what I can do at home to relieve back muscle tensions and improve my mobility. Dr. Rosson truely cares about his patients. Chiropractic treatments have given me relief from migrain headaches and a shoulder injury I had at work. My migraines were so bad that I would turn pale, have light and noise sensitivity, and a bucket near my bed incase I had to vomit. My spine was crooked and pinching the nerves and after the treatments, I no longer have migraines. My shoulder injury was painful and causing me to be irritable with the people around me. I thought that I had just strained a muscle and that it would heal in time but it didn't and the pills I was taking would only give me temporary relief. After only 2 chiropractic treatments, I was able to stop taking ibroprophin for the pain and have full mobility of my shoulder. This review is for both this location as well as the Milpitas location. GENERAL: I was referred to Thrive from my coworker who also goes here for her back treatments as I was looking for a new chiropractor. I had originally went to the Milpitas location and was greeted as soon as I walked in. The staff there was so friendly showing me around the facility and explaining the different rooms and machines they had available. After my evaluation, I finally met Dr. Kauffman and he made me feel very welcomed and I could tell he really cares about his job and about his customers. As I left they did let me know they had forgot to tell me the Milpitas location is actually more expensive for my insurance but that they were going to honor the in network pricing because they hadn't let me know which made my feel good that they weren't just trying to take my money. They were able to set me up with my next appointment at the San Jose location without any problems. I left knowing that this was going to definitely be my new place. Fast forward to now. I have been going to the San Jose location for about 3-4 months now having both Dr Kauffman and Dr Rosson, more so with Dr Rosson as he is the main Dr there. Dr Rosson has helped my back so much. He provides the right pressure I need as I like more pressure on my back. Dr Rosson is also super friendly and always asks how you're doing and we have life conversations which makes the facility feel very homey. Since starting treatment I've seen an increase in spine and neck mobility and am very happy with the treatments I have received thus far. ABOUT THE FACILITY: Both facilities are very clean and neat. I really enjoy the quick and easy sign-in process, which is done on a monitor. It literally takes less than 2 min to check in. They adjustment tables are always super clean as well. I need to make it clear that there are all kinds of Chiropractors out there and it's important to find one that meets your specific needs. 20/20 unfortunately did not meet my specific needs, but I completely respect the doctor's business tactics and adjusting abilities. This is a high volume customer office. I believe it's mostly walk-in service- people don't make appointments, but rather he has open hours and you come when you can. Great for people with busy schedules. He has different payment plans which can be beneficial for those who want to have what I like to call a "chiropractic membership." Most people are in and out of the place within 5 minutes. It's a lay on table, crack this, twist that, you're all in place, great, & out the door you go. Very business oriented and treatment plan oriented. For me, I've already given that approach a try and it didn't help me enough. I wasn't wanting to commit to a treatment plan that I wasn't convinced enough was going to help me term. This is raw chiropractic- get your spine in to place and let the body take care of the rest. I was in need of much more than that. Muscle work, heat/ice, overall extra attention because I've started losing hope for my specific back issues. Great guy, very helpful and wanting to help. I prefer Dr. Bauer over all others because his adjustments are very fluid and I feel very comfortable putting my spine and health in his care. When I was pregnant with my son, he must have been positioned in my pelvis crooked because when he was born, he favored one side of his neck very much and his head was always tilted to one side. I found a groupon and I availed it because I was in pain. Ongoing pain that was likely from a combination of bad habits. I have had experience in chiro before and consider it a comforting alternative to medication. I used to take ibuprofen every night just to comfortably sleep and sometimes, I wake up feeling worse off in the morning with a headache. I met the team and they had given me many options to "treatment" and I said lets go for it. What can be worse than not being able to comfortably sleep and not wake up with energy. I was of course, skeptical, but TRUST goes a long way when it comes to human nature. I did not know them and felt, if I dont like it, I can always walk away. I came in with a voucher from Groupon for a consultation and 2 weeks of adjustments. After my initial exam, the doctor told me that I would need about 12-16 weeks of adjustments to correct my back. I was pretty convinced that this would be helpful in the long run. Also, because there was a possibility of it correcting my severe shin splints. I appreciated how there was no pressure from the doctor to sign up for the adjustments. If I felt that he was pushing me at all to pay him and sign up, I might have left. In total, the cost for my 3 months of adjustments was several hundred dollars. I'm about 1/2 way through my adjustments right now and he said I'm making good improvement. I suffer from chronic migraines and I'm so relieved that they have remained open during SIP. Dr. Nic has helped me out tremendously. When you first arrive they will take your temperature and check you in. Then they take you to a table and start the e-stim and heat. Once that is done Dr. Nic does some muscle work/stretching and then any adjustments you might need. The staff is always so kind and will make you feel right at home. I highly recommend. read more

Got a pretty affordable price on Groupon for a consultation & 2 weeks of 'adjustment'. I initially came in due to an episode of an agonizing stiff neck quite often. I had to find myself a comfortable position before I can even put myself to sleep sometimes if not, I would wake up with a stiff neck & sometimes pain here & there that makes my day not fun as I have a pretty active lifestyle. After a consultation with Dr. Bauer & his team, I decided to get on with the treatment program offered. And I'm glad I did because after only a month (3x/week) of adjustment/treatment, I can say that I am 75% better. There are even days when I wake up refreshed. I'm 27 years old and ever since about age 24 or 25 I have had issues with sciatic pain and other back discomfort. There were several times in the past where my back has stiffened while slightly bending forward to grab something off the floor or even just a shelf. These moments were extremely scary for me because I was only in my mid 20s and already having issues like this. I never found out what caused it and those episodes had gone away HOWEVER the constant discomfort in my lower back never went away. As many women experience later in their pregnancies, I began to "waddle" but for me this started in week 15 of my pregnancy. I was barely showing a baby belly yet I was walking like I was almost due, of course this only got worse the more my pregnancy progressed. Needless to say I felt like I had been hit by a car after having my daughter. I felt my recovery time post pregnancy was taking loner than I was told my my OBGYN but I muscled trough it. I tried working out starting lightly and get my body back into it but my back would just not feel right. One day my husband and I were looking for a chiropractor on Groupon for my mother in law because her insurance didn't cover chiropractic care. After finding Dr. Bauer's offer on Groupon my husband kept asking me if I was sure I didn't want to try it myself. I kept resisting because my husbands insurance was supposed to kick in two months later. I kept saying i'd wait so we can use the insurance my husband pushed me and pushed me and so finally I couldn't take the discomfort anymore and it was affecting my sleep. I scheduled an appt. So many people think they can only go to a chiropractor if they have back problems, I was one of these people. Yes that helps, but best of all it helps you with so many other things and its a great preventative to your overall health. After my first adjustment I wanted to go back every day!! I felt as if my back "woke up!" I have now been going since October and am feeling great. Not only has my back been feeling better. My workouts are now easier to complete! My headaches are almost completely GONE (I had no idea how your spine effects your headaches, but he explains it ALL). I fall asleep easier than I had been. The numbness in my arms when I sleep has improved greatly, before I had to turn around maybe every 20-30 minutes. And one of my favorites my posture looks so much better. Before, I was always self conscience wearing anything that would show the very top of my back just under my neck. I had a slouch look even standing up as straight as I could, there was still a little "hump" and that has improved tremendously. Bottom line, I'm so glad I listened to my husband and just made an appt. After my first visit I have now have my own mother going regularly and my little sister. Soon will be my husband. read more
