I had never taken a formal boxing class before and it was very easy to walk in and feel relaxed in the class format. The instructors are great at keeping the class moving, and helping you out if you need it. Yes, there are people in the class that clearly are 'experienced' boxers, but I have yet to feel any intimidation or hesitation returning to the class. The format of stations and high interval training keeps the class moving and you basically pair up with someone on the same level as you. You don't even have a lot of time to even compare or think about what other groups are doing. Within minutes of the class your heart rate is up, and sweat is coming down. I've only been to about 4 classes now, and have become obsessed with this type of workout. The constant mix up of exercises keeps you on your toes, literally. I love the bag work and partner pad work; but you also get quite the ab workout and other areas of your body covered. The instructors keep you right on time, so you don't have to fear class going over or anything; and if you don't have your own gloves they do provide high quality gear. Everything is very clean and everyone I've had classes with are all extremely nice and welcoming. I'm an avid workout person, and have done things from running to crossfit to rowing, and this might be by far my favorite type of workout yet! I highly recommend this place! [also extremely affordable for the workout you're getting!] Only thing I wish they could change is offering more than the 6pm-7pm group class because working outside of Newport sometimes makes it hard to get there!

Every person is so kind and caring and want to help no matter how big or small. I see Allie, twice a week and she has made me not wake up in pain for the first time since my stroke. This isn't any normal PT, they don't do the same thing every time and send you home with more at home exercises then you normally do in the hour you are seen. They work with you. They care about you. They want you to be, in my case, pain-free, and better after every session. Truthfully, whenever I have to move I am going to be crushed to leave my friend here at NPT & Co. And the ON shoes, sooooo amazing! they took a while to convince me and now I am sad it took me so long. my knee doesn't hurt as much after standing on my feet and I don't have to ask someone to tie my shoes. which being 26, and not being able to tie your shoes sucks and there were no cute alternatives! until these, super cute and super reliable.

I have to travel for my job and I don't always stay in hotels but opt to stay in an Airbnb or with friends when I can. I look for gyms that offer day passes or punch cards. Core's punch card never expires so I can save money and use it the next time I'm in town. They keep it on file so I don't have to remember to bring it. They are the cleanest facility with an upstairs cardio room in addition to the various machines and free weights. I highly recommend this place. The staff was friendly, the changing rooms and showers were clean, and I was able to get an early workout and shower in before having to go to my meetings. I like to use the C2 erg machine; they grease the chain and keep a fresh battery in the PM5 rowing computer. But that's not what's leading me to write this review. This morning, there was an older gentleman in the gym. He had memory issues: I met him once, but he met me five times. I noticed the owner subtly keeping an eye on him. When he finished his workout, the owner asked the gentleman's permission to call his daughter, then escorted him out. He did this respectfully and in a caring manner. When one of the other patrons mentioned it, the owner talked about the gentleman with as much respect and care as he'd demonstrated earlier. Honestly, the whole thing was so wholesome that I got choked up in the middle of my set. TL;DR: Great gym. Absolutely outstanding owner. Six, eight, ten stars.
