From our first interaction…read morewith the incredibly accommodating concierge - I think his name is Mike he had a ponytail - to our room we knew we were getting a better experience than we had expected Then we went to the pool. Wow, what a facility! Indoor hot tub, outdoor hot tub, indoor/outdoor pool, men's steam room, women's steam room, rain forest simulation chamber, kids play fountain/kinetic sculpture. The shallow end of the pool has a curtain of water that falls from the ceiling and various fountains/massage jets. For two guys on a multiweek construction project out of town, the aquatic center at Hampton Inn Wheeling was the best surprise either of us can remember lately. HIW had more to offer though. There was a shuttle service that took us to supper, brought us back when we called (and they showed up in about 7 minutes) later, we took the shuttle to the casino We both somehow beat the house for some decent loot. And we taken back to the hotel by the shuttle at two am Both drivers were exceptionally gracious and polite. This unassuming looking hotel hides spectacular accommodations and flawless hospitality. Apparently it actually is because there was a poster near the elevators that indicated that Hampton inn was voted the best in the world. It also won like a best hotel in West Virginia award also. Who knew? Right off the highway, restaurants literally basically just off the edge of the property including, and I would like to highlight, TACO BELL. Room was decently sized, about average. Beds were comfortable. TV was smaller than I have expected recently and I don't recall them having the option of connecting Netflix or any other streaming services which is nice, relying on what is on cable at that particular moment is a drag and I don't know how we did it for so long. Towels were plentiful. Shower was nice. Multiple mirrors arranged in just a way that your partner can watch you on the toilet from the bed if you leave the door open, as we discovered. I'll spare you the photos that were taken. Not a bad choice.

My grandparents have been living in Oglebay for over 50 years. I absolutely adore Oglebay! I love…read morethe lodge and the new updates they've made, the glass house, the museum inside of the mansion, the beautiful views throughout the hills, it's truly an incredible place. I have been going to Oglebay since I was very little, and still continue to visit due to my grandparents living there... but I will say the kids Park absolutely needs renovated. There are so many trip hazards and the entire park is very old and has outdated play equipment. I highly suggest they take some of the funds that they receive for Oglebay and put it into making a new park for the kids. The paddle boats and all the new updated activities are great, but for kids to play at the park, safely, that should be the next focus. As you can see in my photos, every season is gorgeous, and the walking trails throughout are really nice for exercise. There's a restaurant now located on the grounds, I would say it's a little overpriced, but the food is good. I've stayed in the room several times over the years, and some of them are old and outdated, and some of them are really nice and new. I appreciate both. No matter what, they always keep the hotel portion clean. I would say the hot tub seems to have some issues here and there, that pool and hot tub have been there since before I can remember. There's new restaurants inside of the lodge as well, and they also have ravenous reviews. Christmas time is always beautiful, and the beautiful bloom of the flowers during spring is quite a sight to see. Apparently, the zoo will now have lions and beekeeper, I'm excited to take my baby to visit this spring! If you're thinking about visiting, do not hesitate you will enjoy it as much as my family I have for many decades.

I will never return to this salon. I was new to the area and wasn't sure where to go for a…read morehaircut, so I just took a gamble and booked an appointment at Eclectic. When I checked in, I was told that I would not be seeing the stylist the appointment was booked with - she actually was an apprentice and not allowed to take clients yet, but she was in the booking system. That should have been my first clue to leave. There was only one stylist in that was licensed and two apprentices/receptionists hanging out. The stylist was coloring another clients hair, so one of the other girls shampooed my hair and got me ready for the cut. When I met with the stylist, I explained what I wanted (which was basically just to trim the split ends and clean up the layers - not a total transformation), and how I typically style my naturally curly hair. I provided pictures as well and was given no indication that cutting curly hair was a problem. She started by bluntly cutting my hair straight across at the bottom, about three inches higher than I showed her I wanted it to hit when it dried and accounted for shrinkage. Once that was done, she blow dried (burning my scalp several times in the process) and flat ironed my hair, then razor cut the very front at an angle. Done. No layers, and all the styling products that she used were for straight hair. This also took 45 minutes, all the while the poor woman who's hair was being colored was still sitting there with her color processing - way too long. I wanted to cry when I left and found that the cut was uneven when I got home. There was no way I was going back there to get it fixed. Aside from the bad cut, it was an unpleasant experience all around. The salon was dingy and the messy color mixing station is right behind the reception desk. I've never seen that in a salon before. I was not given any input during the consultation, just nods to respond. My stylist spent the entire time chatting with the other girls. When she did turn her attention to me, she had the audacity to ask how old I was and told me that she was asking because I have some gray hairs. She did not offer any instructions for styling or upkeep, nor did she tell me what products she used (I made a note of everything as she used it).

I can't comment on their services so maybe they're good, maybe not. I won't find out. I have called…read morethis hair salon countless times to make an appointment for my daughter. They never answer the phone. I have literally called over 20 times, different days of the week and every hour of the day. I left a message every single time; giving my name, phone number, and asking them to call back so I can make an appoint for my daughter to get a haircut. They have never returned my call... Ever. The only reason I tried to get an appointment this long is because I have a $50 gift certificate. I'm done, don't waste your time with these folks when there are plenty of other options in Ferry. You'll basically have to beg them to accept your business. Not worth the trouble.
