    Mystery hairs in bathroom

DO NOT STAY HERE! Most of what is listed on their site is false advertising. Consider yourself warned. AC barely works. No pool-it's under construction. Dirty rooms. Warm milk, stale cereal, stale bread, and old rotting fruit is the only breakfast options (if you can find the dirty breakfast room). Checkout is at 11 but the cleaning staff will start rushing you out of your room at 10am. We didn't even finish loading our car before they barged in our room. The owners are rude and awful- and I'm pretty sure they are the only staff on site so good luck finding anyone to help you. The office stays locked and it looks like owners live in an apartment in the back of it, so you have to ring the doorbell to talk to someone you're likely going to get the owners wife that will come out and yell at you for bothering them. Also if you go hunting for the laundry or breakfast room and often what appears to be the most likely location for these things expect to be yelled at by the owners wife because that unmarked open door by the office appears to be their living space (oops). If your children attempt to make pancakes in what appears to be an operational pancake maker in the breakfast room- the owner- who will lord over you while you're trying to access the "food" like your going to steal something- will also yell at your children because they do not buy batter for the machine and we are apparently supposed to know this intuitively. Oh and did I mention they had workers doing construction at 6am with loud machinery, so good luck getting rest. 0/5 stars. Do not recommend. Luckily this has been our only awful stay this trip, and there are lots of better lodging options around. If the owners were not so awful and rude I would've let the rest go, but I've seriously never been treated so awful as a paying customer

Thank you Jose? and all the other wonderful folks at TL. Got "stuck" in Redding for 5 days, after a bad experience at Travel Lodge was welcomed to TL and enjoyed a wonderful visit. In the middle of everything, train and bus station 2 blocks away. Maxwell's Eatery Bar across the street had EXCEPTIONAL food. Y'all should work out a deal to put their menu's in the rooms, took me 4 days to order from them. I'll be back! Thanks again, John

Visited 5/18/2018 What a great place to stay in the Redding area. Clean, nice rooms. Great staff. And best of all great price. No frills or thrills located in the center of town with many restaurants close by. I highly recommend maxwells across the street on market for great appetizers and some of the best burgers you'll ever have. I would gladly stay here next time I'm in Redding. So if you're looking for a place to get a decent nights sleep at a good price this is the place for you. Enjoy

We did the responsible thing. A night enjoying downtowns nightlife made us decide to stay the night rather than doing the five mile drive home,so our adventures continued by getting a room. Nice, clean and cozy. We had a vaulted ceiling no less. Close to a store for additional cocktails and the 24 hour donut shop around the corner a plus. The view was this beautiful neon light backed up by threatening clouds. If only all rooms were this much fun;)

    Cute sign

I was traveling with a client of mine who has very occasional seizures, and early on in our first morning here he had one while alone in the shower. Luckily, this hotel is sandwiched between lots of different hotels and restaurants, but more importantly, between the fabulous Shasta Regional Medical Center the proximate Redding Fire House. First Responders were on site in about ten minutes (which felt like an hour) and transpo went smoothly despite there being no elevator and us being on the second floor (the staircase has a landing and everything). Now, this is all well and good, and relatively standard if I may be so bold, but I'm here to say that the staff at the Americana went way above and beyond the call of duty. Housekeeping was in the next room when he collapsed. When I saw the severity of the situation I-in a relative panic, ran over to nearby staff to ask for help. This incredible woman, Darby, was the perfect person to help (second only to an actual first responder, RN or doctor). After calming the situation down with nothing but grace, she explained a little bit of her own history with seizures and what it meant to her to be able to help us in any way. Darby supported my client and I both physically and emotionally while he came out of his seizure and fell into a deep sleep, thank God, and she even stayed with me for a few minutes after he had been loaded into the ambulance. She and her boss, the manager Heather, and another lovely woman from the Americana whose name I never caught, were so supportive, kind and patient with me while I tried my best to help the PMs gather the information they needed about my client. I'd imagine some people had to check in or out a bit late because of us, sorry! But I couldn't be bothered by other guests after how helpful the staff was. PS . He was cared for in the nearby SRMC, a great hospital about two blocks away. He is now home and in stable condition. TL,DR Staff came in clutch for IHSS worker when senior client had a seizure in the shower - Housekeeper & management absolutely rock The local hospital is excellent!!

Our room was split into two parts, one set up with a bed and TV, and the other serving as a seating area with a couch, TV and chair. Very nice. Free breakfast really hit the spot too -- it was freshly prepared and served hot --- and the fitness room, while basic, had all the essentials. The pool was heated and there's a nice hot tub to hang out in, and bonus points for there being a gas station right down the street and easy freeway access. A bit of a weird layout with the elevators. If I had to come again for work I would only stay on the top floor because (and here's where I took off a star): I'm on the second floor and I can hear the person walking back and forth on the floor above me and the person's tv and conversations next to me. I can also hear water through the walls. That's not a restful experience! In the morning, through my front door I could hear someone's blowing their hair dry from across the hall! It was so clear I thought it was housekeeping running the vacuum. And seriously, is the person above me trying to get their steps in or what? They haven't stopped for a hour!

This hotel is north of the city away from shopping and restaurants in the main part of Redding. The parking lot is shared with the Fairfield By Marriott. After reading reviews of both properties, my wife choose the Home 2 Suites. Check in was a little slow both times as there is only one employee working the front. But, they did their job as best they could. No upgrades to a larger room as I don't have status. We were given a room with 2 queens, exactly as we reserved. The room had a nice sofa, seating area and a large screen tv. Bathroom was large size and had soap, shampoo, conditioner and lotion from Zero. They have a gym on the first floor with stationary bikes and treadmill for cardio. Dumbbells and a weight machine are available if you need to lift weights. A laundry room is part of the gym. The gym was adequate, though a little strange to have people in there waiting for the washing machine or dryer. It's a good hotel to stop at after a long drive north. Breakfast was smaller than expected with limited options compared to other Hilton locations. There were no bacon, sausage, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs - the usual protein meats, which was disappointing. Parking is limited in the front, but there is more parking towards the back of the building. Parking and breakfast are covered with the cost of the room which is a huge plus. Bottle waters were not offered to me upon check in, nor at in room like most Hilton hotels even though I'm a Hilton member, so you'll have to ask them directly to get it complimentary as long as you're silver, gold or diamond status. I was so happy with my bed and breakfast experience that I definitely will trust my fellow reviewers in the future. First, Janelle was super accommodating and let me check in early because I would be attending the wedding and needed to get ready. She followed up with me on text message as to my arrival time to make sure that she would be there to greet me. When I walked in, I noticed my phone number was coded to the key pad entrance to the B&B. So cool! Janelle was there to greet me and give me an envelope with my key and instructions. I went up with her to the bedroom and needless to say, was so impressed with her style and quality that she brings to her B&B. The room seemed to be flawless in the way that she spent time picking out pictures and linens. The linens were even washed in a very nice fabric softener and didn't have that normal "hotel" smell. I was able to get the Sun Dial Room, and even though it was the most expensive, it was definitely worth every penny. There was a fresh, large bottle of water in the room with chocolates. I had free wifi and a nice flat screen TV. A jacuzzi tub. And oh, did I mention.. the best, most comfortable bed that I never wanted to leave? Top it off.. breakfast in the morning makes me giddy just thinking about it. I had french toast, a vegetable frittata, potatoes, chicken/apple sausage, fresh juice and coffee. Janelle served breakfast promptly at 8:30 and I was definitely there with bells on. Everything was served family style and while eating breakfast you are able to enjoy the company of other guests, which makes breakfast that much more entertaining. For a few bucks more, stay at this bed and breakfast. Completely avoid the Howard Johnson or other chain hotel. You will not be disappointed.
