Been here quite a few times since its across from my old work building. Happy hour prices and drinks are decent, but their food isn't that great. They do have a $14 beer + burrito combo for lunch that is a pretty good deal considering that a pint of beer runs around $8. They have skee ball and also shuffleboard. read more

Third time here which I blame entirely on the World Cup. This place is a solid choice, not just for sports viewing but as a restaurant too. Kid and pet friendly which reminds me of cool, upscale places in Europe and the Pacific Northwest. We first came for Taco Tuesday and ordered.... Bean and cheese tacos 5 stars Broccoli tacos. 5 stars Sweet potato tacos. 4 stars All tasted fresh, lots of yummy garnish and, if you're vegetarian, you appreciate that different plates actually offer different flavors. I've been to many eateries where all the veggie plates taste the same. But not here! All the tacos were $3 and very filling. But our least favorite were the sweet potato tacos, only because it's a lot of starch. For our weekend visit, we ordered... Bean and cheese burrito... 4 stars Surprisingly spicy but my kid still liked it. Veggie salad...5 stars The avocado was perfect. Came with a spread of veggies over dark lettuce. Drinks... 5 stars. Both strong and tasty Hibiscus margarita Bloody Mary Service was consistently friendly and efficient. Ricky at the bar was very helpful with accommodations and suggestions. Great to watch the LA Dodgers games! TVs all around and they play the audio of the games, and music in between during commercials. Nachos were great!! Good to share between 2-3 people. I didn't get a chance to try their burgers but they looked good. Moscow Mule and Old Fashioned drinks were good! You order at the bar, take your number and find your seat. Both comfortable booths and high tables available. Then a nice waitress comes by and ask if you'd like anything. Parking can be tricky but available on the street. Be sure to read the signs! Recently came to Thunderbird for the first time. Really enjoyed the atmosphere! They have a great drink selection and the bartenders are all super friendly! Piña Colada and margaritas are tasty and strong. Love that they are able to make a variety of cocktails. Wednesday nights (8 pm) they have trivia with Chris (whom we followed here after living his trivia at another bar). He makes the whole experience fun and challenging and you can even win chips which are good for food and drinks at the bar. Restrooms are clean which is always a plus. Lots of tables but it seems to get busy on trivia night so come early! I will definitely be back soon! read more

Though the place may lack that extra "Je ne sais quoi" that would put it over the top, this is a solid venue for what it is and offers a nice spot to land for a drink and better than average bar food. Came here on a Friday evening for a happy hour gathering with coworkers. We were able to find seating super easily, enjoy the game, and order food/drinks at the counter. I ordered a margarita ($8) with happy hour with texas sized nachos and fries. We ordered drinks all around while most of us got beers. We didn't realize the Texas- sized nachos were so big! It was able to feed 3-4 people in our group. It came with a bunch of toppings and perfectly melted cheese! It was such a good treat after a long week of working at the office. We had lots of laughs while eating great food and drinks. A fun thing was that there were a lot of birthdays going on! We would look over and see people shouting happy birthday while celebrating by chugging beer which was so funny. The parking for this place can be a little hard to find, but there is ample street parking in the nearby streets in the neighborhoods. Awesome local watering hole with a fun, laid back vibe. Happy hour is all day Mondays and 4-7pm Tuesday to Friday and I appreciate that it's not just on the typical cheap beer and well drinks. The Moscow mules are really good and served in the proper copper cups! Love that. The food is pretty good for bar food. I enjoyed the queso dip. The setup is great, with some big booths for groups in the back and shuffleboard and skeeball to mix things up. Tacos and margs are pretty stellar at this place. Came on Taco Tuesday, which is $1 off all tacos and $9 margs. Place wasn't busy when we got there at 12 and we were able to get our food and drinks very quickly. FYI it's more of a trendy sports bar than a restaurant, so don't be thrown off when you walk in, but deff a good place for casual lunch or happy hour. For drinks, husband and I both got the classic marg, which had a decent amount of tequila. Enough to made you happy but didn't make your eyes burn when you drank it (make sense?) We ordered 4 tacos in total (short rib, chicken, shrimp and carnitas). Short rib was my favorite by far. Super flavorful with picked onions and a spicy salsa verde sauce. Husband also really liked the chicken, which was also a little spicy (not as much as the short rib) and I also got the shrimp, which was bomb. The pineapple salsa on top really made the shrimp shine. The carnitas was ... fine. Not bad but nothing to write home about. Also ordered the carnitas nachos. Prob would have ordered this with short rib had I known how good that was. They come pretty stacked with pork, shredded cheese, homemade cheese sauce, tomatoes and onions, but personally felt like they needed some acid. Pro tip, ask for the spicy salsa verde on the side. It deff satisfied that "somethings missing" feeling. Once got that we really enjoyed the nachos. Overall, we really liked this place. Food and drinks were really good and it's off the beaten path enough that you can sit and enjoy your food in a laid back place without crazy LA prices. read more
