Looking for a cute brunch spot, we stumbled upon the Brixton.having been there before a long time ago. I was skeptical because it used to be like dark and CD kind of dive bar, but they've put these windows in and the light comes in and the place was pretty busy that's always a good sign and the bartender was amazing. His name is Lance. Lance has been there for a long time. Turns out we have family in another state very close to each other. Some kind of bonded over that and just life in general excellent Bartender my bloody Maria is fantastic and he was very attentive. We ordered a Greek omelette and it was delicious. People from my office come here every so often for the happy hour. They're very accommodating for large groups. The happy hour food selections are not the best happy hour prices but for the most part all very good. The bread that accompanies some dishes is probably the star. The flatbreads are not bad but could use a little longer of a bake as they're a bit soft on the bottom and my personal preference is a crispy crust. I also like that they offer both fries and tots. Not on the happy hour menu but I crave fried potatoes when drinking. They have a few cocktails that are decent and a nice line up of draft beer. I definitely come here more for the food than the drinks though. They also have a parking lot in the back. If you're lucky, you'll be able to get a spot but it does fill up. read more

Wassup y'all! I'm back with another review. I found this spot years ago and honestly--it never disappoints. The food, the service, the vibes? Always on point. Super chill, super accommodating, just an all-around good time. On this visit, the homegirl and I stopped by post-workout because we were starving starving. I went with the good ol' açaí bowl, and she went all in--hash browns, eggs, waffle, chicken, and I think bacon (a full breakfast tour, honestly). I did forget to ask for light bananas and to add peanut butter to my bowl--but listen... it was still jumpin' like Jordan. No complaints. A hidden gem. This pub offers a ton of different variety of food! And bottomless mimosas. They will give you an entire carafe of champagne and you get these little juices like guava or mango or orange. I recommend the mango! I got the gluten free burger and it was very delicious. And that bun held on!! It didnt break apart on me and was nicely toasted as well. The staff was able to accommodate a huge group of 10+, and they didnt make any mistakes. Just left The Brixton and I'll start by saying the food was really good. If it were just that, I'd give it 4 stars. But my otherwise good experience was tainted by the manager at the end of our meal. I'm going to give a timeline to highlight my frustration. My wife and I picked up my son from class at 5:35. I had a taste for fish and chips, so we took a few minutes to look at Yelp and decided on The Brixton. We arrived at 5:45 and were seated promptly. We ordered the short rib flat bread to share and it was out by 6pm. My wife and I then ordered the fish and chips, and our son got the short rib melt. By 6:15 we had our food and began to eat. Everything was pretty fulfilling, and so at 6:35 we were finishing up and asked for to-go boxes and the check. It comes and the timestamp on the check is 6:41pm. I pay, sign the check, and spend a couple of minutes getting my things together and talking with the family. This is where they rubbed me the wrong way. At 6:46, the manager comes over and says "hey, I'm sorry but we need this table. We have a reservation," smiled and walked away. I looked around at all the empty tables in the restaurant like WTH!?? So 5 minutes after I pay and only 1 hour and 1 minute from the time we stepped foot into the restaurant, we're asked to leave to make way for a reservation. Why allow us to sit there in the first place if that's the case?? You should have held it if the person who was going to eat there had less than an hour to order, eat, and leave. Had we not eaten so quickly or gotten full and packed up, we'd still be sitting there eating. There were multiple tables who were seated before we arrived who were still eating, drinking, and talking when we left. While this is a cool gastro pub with a chill vibe and pretty good food, we were driving home and all agreed that it put a damper on the meal and we don't need to return. read more

They tasted frozen and like they crushed them to suck out all the juices. He tried taking it apart and eating around the bad sections but his plate just looked like a mess. I'm truly disappointed with my experience at the Brixton. I really wanted to enjoy myself but due to the events that occurred, it made it nearly impossible to do so. I'm usually a very patient person when it comes to service workers considering I'm a server/bartender myself but this was pretty bad. Arrived with a party of 5. We were able to seat ourselves and was greeted by a gentleman who appeared to be tending the bar as well as waiting tables. He took our drink orders and I ordered a hot tea since I was feeling a little under the weather. I was given the tea bag, but didn't receive any hot water until we brought it to our server's attention. No biggie, mistakes happen. Then it was time to order entrees.. ordered their friend chicken and biscuits and our server claimed it was his favorite menu item so I was super hyped about it. When the food started coming out, everyone received their order except me so I was left with no food while everyone ate theirs.. we didn't even receive a check in to see how everything was. My partner spoke up about it and our server immediately addressed the issue which we appreciated, but at this point I was disappointed I wasn't able to eat with my friends. We just asked if we can take it to go. When the to go order arrived, it was neatly packed and sealed with a safety seal. I opened it to add extra sauces in the box and I notice a thin hair in the food. Couldn't be mine because I have thick, wavy hair and the box was literally sealed. That was my last straw and I really just wanted to leave at this point. We didn't even bother to say anything because I just didn't want to extend my stay any longer. Again, I really wanted to like this place since we love trying different gastropubs and my entire party liked their food and drinks, but the service for me just fell EXTREMELY short. The Short Rib poutine was very heavy meat and pretty much drowned out the rice, BUT it was super tasty. I feel like the egg didn't really add too much to the poutine and just made it more messy. So, everyone needs to come to the Brixton (at least for brunch). Firstly, the Brixton accommodated an eleven person reservation, and seated us all together - not an easy task for a restaurant. The service was absolutely incredible - friendly, jovial, and simultaneously helpful - not only with service but also with recommendations for what to order. We must have gotten there early, as the restaurant had not yet filled up, but the modern, simple ambiance was the perfect backdrop for brunch. We came to brunch to feast, and feast we did. As a vegetarian, I am more than used to needing to order from a very limited selection of options yet the Brixton had so many choices I had to ask for thoughts. My friend and I split two entrees and I got to try the breakfast burrito and the shakshouka. I have not had shakshouka in a long time, but I was absolutely floored. Everyone in our group was full, but I made them all try the shakshouka because it is such a unique dish and difficult to get right - and everyone loved it. I got to try a few appetizers and everything was delicious. And the drinks - so good! Then despite how full we were, the staff insisted on bringing us a couple desserts. We were so glad they did. She wanted it a bit sweeter, so Honore brought her a little pitcher of simple syrup and a spoon, so she could adjust it to her liking. Our food came out in "courses" as we requested, so we could enjoy each dish. 3 of us shared the carnivore flatbread (delicious, with lots of short ribs and lovely crunchy fried kale), the Mac & Cheese (so good and creamy), and the fried chicken & biscuits (3 good size pieces of boneless chicken, 2 big biscuits! A little very spicy Cole slaw, honey and mustard.) Everything was so good. We couldn't finish one biscuit or the Mac & cheese! The fries were just my type, medium w/o seasoning, I don't drink sodas but I have to admit the coke cola top it off, which made it amazing! Delivery was fast! On to the tastings!! =D The Brussels sprouts glazed in balsamic vinegar crispy and sweet were delicious. The Mac and cheese was creamy smoky with perfectly cooked pasta giving that chewy texture: delicious!! The pièce de résistance was, of course, the Poutine with tender savory short rib, melted cheese curds and mushrooms over fries with gravy was the highlight of my order and a gastronomical delight!!
