Could have saved half the cost by just buying for 2 kids. You definitely don't need more than an hour either. It's really loud, so it's not great for autistic or sensory sensitive kids. My kids don't enjoy water directly in their face, and there's nowhere to go that doesn't have water landing directly in your face. There's nowhere for adults to sit, and it's a small room so there's residual splashing everywhere; wear pool shoes even if you don't go on the play structure and are just supervising the kids. During the 5-minute breaks once per hour, it would be nice if you could use the adjacent pool I but it was occupied with aquatic sports teams. Staff were very friendly, and the overall sports/rec facility looks huge and very clean. Locker rooms were very clean as well. For our family, however, it just wasn't worth the price paid nor was it the type of water park that would work for older kids or autistic kids.

Exclusionary policies on a 3ft deep pool…read more My special needs son wanted to go on the lily pads/floating log ropes course, so I asked if I could be present in the water to guide him because he's non-verbal and needs time to process directions. The head lifeguard said no, the other lifeguards will watch him. Some special needs children require accommodations that caretakers like his father (me) are highly attuned to. The teenaged lifeguards would simply blow their whistles and scream at my son as they've done before. I am there to assist as needed so 1) we avoid the screaming lifeguards, and 2) so he can experience what all the other kids can do on their own. Obviously we didn't go on it. Thanks for understanding, SplashDown, we'll never go there again. Side note: Some of these lifeguards hate their life and shouldn't be there.

Then there is the pool with deeper water and the huge water slides. It is much bigger than Pirates Cove at Lorton and at a non-crowded weekday, you can have the place to yourself. We spent about 2.5 hours here and my little one napped all the way back home! Food can be improved. The menu is American fast food and it is pricey. Bathroom and changing rooms are not the cleanest. The ones in Pirate Coves are better sanitized. Will come again and recommend!

When it was time to eat they have two options, chicken hut or Pizza Place, we had the pizza. The line was short but moved so so slow. The girl behind the counter must be new. I ordered 3 slices, got 2. Ordered 2 chips, got 1, ordered 3 water bottles and a tea. Paid 10.25 not bad but I left hungry. The kids seemed happy and I know they had fun. They've got the must haves of a water park - lazy river, wave pool, water spray ground, and water slides. They've also got a few extras that you don't see at every water park, like a few 4 person float rides, a half pipe tube ride with a very steep drop, and a roller coaster type water ride that goes up and down. My 48 inch tall daughter was able to go on every ride but my 46 inch tall son could only go on about half of the rides, so my only caveat is that 48 inches seems to be the magic number. That said, my son would've had a lot of fun on the rides he could go on, as well as the universal ones like the lazy river and spray grounds. If you get a season pass to 6 Flags and compare it to the cost of a day pass at a county water park, this is a great deal (plus you get an amusement park too)!
