Excellent tacos, quesadillas and burrito! I arrived just past 6:00PM and some were still waiting. I was able to place my order and waited for around 15 minutes. The foods were ready and everything tasted so good!

Been pushing off coming here because I thought find parking was a hassle, but I'm glad we ended up going. ***What I ordered ~ **Asada Burrito (10/10) ~ This size of your face and PACKED. The asada was very tender and everything was SOOO flavorful. If you use their hot sauce it gives the burrito a good kick. I HIGHLY recommend the burrito! **Asada Taco (9/10) ~ Really good! The asada was tender and the fresh herbs cut the fat! It was delicious. **Beef Tongue Taco (6/10) ~ The tongue was tough (which is to be expected). I guess I didn't really like the texture too much, but it was still good. Overall, Service was fast! We ordered on the phone so by the time we got there everything was ready. If you get the chance, try this place! It reminds me of the stuff you find at Cali!! :)

Best burrito on O'ahu, hands down. The tortilla is perfectly chewy and soft. The burrito is packed to the brim with fillings that are well balanced, including rice, beans, cheese, sour cream, and optional guac add on. I love the cilantro in the guac. I got a carnitas burrito and the carnitas was tender and flavorful! I tried the carne asada too and that was perfectly cooked and cut into smaller pieces, which gave the burrito a great mouthfeel. It was pretty busy at 1pm on a Monday, but they were able to prepare two burritos in about 10-15 minutes. Not much outdoor seating as it's a food stand across from Whole Foods off Queen Street. Definitely try all of their sauces. The orange salsa is spicy!! And I love spice.

Right across of Whole Foods parking entrance. There is no parking at all, so just park at Whole Foods and walk across the street. It's that stationary food truck you see but never go to. It's so busy and taco Tuesday is crazy busy! Either $2 or $2.5 tacos. There's a variety of sauces you can self serve right in front. I ordered the beef cheeks, beef tongue, and the asada tacos. Luckily I called in and was able to get my order secure. My boyfriend and I have to say this must be the best street tacos on the island. They are so good! The beef cheeks were tender and so were the beef tongue. I honestly couldn't tell which were which! I love the salsa verde. The red and orange sauces were spicy. Orange was more spicier than the red though. I am 100% coming back

Best carnitas burrito in town. Carnitas is fatty and crispy. Burritos is not as giant as mainland burritos, but can't complain for $12. Line can get long during lunch rush (and HOT). Worth the wait.

Small taco truck located near Whole Foods. Friendly workers. Called in order - estimated 15 minutes and was ready for pickup when I arrived. Ordered the Carne Asada Burrito and it was pretty good! Not quite the same as California burritos I know and love, but it hits the spot for now. I wish there was salsa provided on the side. Would recommend if looking for a decent burrito spot.

Thyda's Tacos is a small, hidden food truck tucked on the side of Queen Street, right across from the Whole Foods parking lot. It's a small setup, but there are a few benches where you can sit while waiting for your food. I got the asada quesadillas ($12), and they were pretty good. So warm, filling, and super cheesy--which I love--but I'd knock off 1 star because it's a bit pricey for the portion size. There's a little station by the truck window with sauces you can help yourself to, along with small cups and lids to take them with you since this is a grab-and-go spot. I especially loved the green sauce. I'm not sure if it's store-bought or homemade, but it was delicious and gave the quesadillas an extra kick of flavor. I'd come back to try more, but the pricing might hold me back a bit. That said, I did notice their tacos are half-priced on Tuesdays, so that's worth checking out if you're looking for a deal!

What an amazing little taco stand in the middle of town. The must try for me is the Asada Burrito with the habanero sauce. It's HOT! Quick tip, phone in your order because Thyda is busy during lunch time. Parking is difficult but it's worth it.

The lengua taco was super succulent and the carnitas taco was very tasty! I loved that they had the authentic side veggies and I enjoyed the salsas. The meat had just the right amount of juice for great flavor in the tacos while not falling apart, and the tortillas kept together well. I parked at the Whole Foods parking garage since I went shopping there after, and there's a bench you can sit on that has an umbrella or you can take your food to go. I definitely want to bring my family here and try out other menu items too!

This place is truly a hidden gem in Ward. I first tried their food when my work office decided to take-out from here. Ever since, I have been hooked to their rice bowls. Everything taste so good together, especially when you add their salsa. I highly recommend this place for their great food and service. Wait times can be a little long when they're busy but it's totally worth it! read more

Went on taco Tuesday and got 2 carne asada tacos and 2 jackfruit tacos for $10. Called ahead and ordered on the phone. I arrived and received my tacos in a legit Dixie plate with foil cover and janky napkins. Salsa was legit, I tried both the salsa roja and habanero. Both were medium and not hot like home which is understandable due to the locals and their fragile tongues (I'm married to one). The tacos were legit with onion and cilantro...none of this lettuce, sour cream, and cheese nonsense. The plate also had grilled onions, pickled jalapeños, and baby radishes which is common with legit taco trucks. Everything was authentic besides 2 things. No one could speak Spanish when I ordered and no Mexican drinks like Jarritos and bottled coke. I'll be back on a Taco Tuesday when I'm too lazy to cook up my own tacos. read more

Finally got to try this place since I always see their wagon when going to WholeFoods and i agree with all the yelpers, by far the best tacos in Hawaii. We've tried many different tacos places on island and hard to find a decent place. We are picky taco eaters since we used to live in San Diego. I would recommend the barbacoa, it's definitely the best. Got there at 11am at opening and there were people waiting so that tells you something about the place. I always get the burrito, though I mix it up between the carne asada and chicken. Definitely must add guacamole and a new thing I've been doing is adding the habanero salsa/sauce inside the burrito instead of pouring it on with each bite. The flavor of the habanero is so addicting and only spicy upon first bite! lol I've been missing a good burrito since moving from a city that I can easily get one when I'm craving it. Thyda's food is just simply made goodness! The crispy cheese they do really makes the burrito too! Mmm so good! Salivating just thinking about it. And of course, I don't ever take pictures of it because I inhale it before I think about sharing it, it's that good! And... it's a huge burrito! Just when I think I can't finish it, I do because it's honestly so good down to the last bite!!! Fast, quick stop at this food trailer/truck. Overpriced and bland in my opinion. Ordered two tacos (barbacoa/carnitas), paid $7, waited for more than 10 minutes. I was expecting more flavor, I asked for their spicy sauce and added the lime and veggies they give you on the side to the taco but even then it lacks flavor. I've never had "authentic "street tacos before so I have nothing to compare it to. read more

Best street tacos in the Ward area. Love the steak and barbacoa but often get carnitas too just because the green sauce is so ono smothered on top! The wait is usually 10-20min but worth it. The owners and staff are very kind and helpful. read more

Thyda's Tacos is hands down the best Mexican food on the island! I used to work in the building right next to their stand and my coworker would always go for Taco Tuesdays. I decided to go with him one week and was blown away. I got the barbacoa burrito with the habanero (light orange) sauce and it was amazing! I ended up going almost once a week and it always satisfies. Aside from the food being amazing, the whole crew is fantastic! I've got to know them as I've become a regular and they treat everyone like family and always provide service with a smile. It's one thing to know you're going to get a great meal, but to also see smiling faces and receive great customer service makes it even better. Even though I no longer work so close, I'll definitely be visiting as much as possible!!! read more

Believe everyone who tells you that good Mexican food is hard to find in Hawaii... But once you find it, it's like gold, so hang onto it. Thyda's is a permanent location out of a small cart with Thyda and her man crammed in there like two pintos in a tortilla. Despite their tight quarters, they are super friendly... so that's a plus. But what really makes this place is the food. The food is authentic. The flavors are traditional. The prices are reasonable. If you're like me, and frustrated about the Mexican offerings on Oahu, be sure and visit Thyda's... The food will keep you coming back. They make their own sauces (beware the habanero, it's super and addicting). They also don't rush the cooking process on the meats, which is the secret to good Mexican food. read more

First. The food. Amazing. You're going to be hard pressed to find authentic street tacos anywhere on Oahu, but not here. So so delicious. What's nuts, is Ive tried not only the tacos, but the burrito, which was loaded! But the bowl was amazing as well. They seriously have it down. Second, the owners. I felt welcome, definitely definitely felt the island vibe. It was great. It's so nice to see people who really care about a product and are passionate about their business. I will be back as often as humanly possible. I suggest you do the same!! Third, the prices. Worth it. I've spent as much at any number of places getting lunch in the area that don't even compare. Go see for yourself. It's a new gem, and one the island needed. read more

My husband, who was raised in L.A., has never found a Mexican restaurant in Hawaii that he was happy with, until he ate Thyda's Tacos' offerings. Their jackfruit option is a great way to get in a vegetarian meal without feeling deprived. However, their lengua (beef tongue) or carne asada is probably too yummy to pass over. read more

This place is so amazing!!! I had the the chicken burrito with the works and guacamole and it was so flavorful and Delicious! I really appreciated that they didn't nickel and dim you, all burritos come with sour cream, cheese and the works, if you ask for it. A few quick tips: -ask for the works if you like grilled onions and jalapeños -park in from if the lunch wagon -try all their delicious sauces on the side Can't wait to come back!! read more

The best Tacos In Hawaii! They are the only authentic street tacos you will find on Oahu! What I love most about this stand is they also have a VEGAN OPTION! So everyone has a chance to enjoy them. This is just the spot for a quick bite and run. Portions are worth the price and they are quick about it. If you picking up for a group, it's best to call ahead. Food is flavorful, and they don't skimp on the proteins (fish, chicken, steak). I recommend the burrito for its huge!!! Feel free to let them know what you do/don't want in your order. They also have house sauces. read more

I LOVE THESE TACOS! Thyda and Majed are so cool - the owners of "Thyda's Tacos" there everyday working at the truck. Coming from LA these are authentic tacos. The flavors are spot on! This is literally the best place on island for tacos, burritos, quesadillas... you name it! I come here weekly and it's just as delicious every time. Vegetarian options as well, win win! I've been looking for some bomb taco places on this island and I just found it ! The people are also very kind ! And they have vegan options like jackfruit . I ordered 3 barbacoa tacos with everything, and a carne asada quesadilla for myself and the tacos were amazing! The quesadilla melted in my mouth once I took a bite into it ! My sister orders the asada burrito and she loved it ! Im so glad I found this place and I'm definitely coming back ! read more

Aloha, Visiting with a Californian who won't eat Mexican in HI because "...Mexican food isn't as good as in CA..."? Let them go somewhere else to get their food. Meet them with your excellent, well presented, mostly recyclable packaged carefully made tacos, mulitas, etc. from Thyda's (theedahs) at the Ala Moana beach park, just down the street, the people's park. Thyda's staff was careful not to put dairy on a burrito as requested, even though it was near the end of a very long week of taco making. Leave a generous tip, Mahalo nui read more

So I was a bit skeptical when I first approached this place because where were the Mexicans?! But OMG did my view changed after I tasted my chicken rice bowl. It was SO delish and flavorful. The housemade salsas are fantastic, and I loved the salsa verde. My friend got the burrito and she had the same reaction. This place is also very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity you receive. Forget taco Tuesdays from Whole Foods - and stop at this truck, it's well worth it. I'm looking forward to returning and trying the burrito, and the taco, and more rice bowls...you get the drift. read more

Saw 5 star rating on Yelp with 98 reviews so we had to give them a try, and we weren't disappointed! We asked for a sampling of several things and each one was amazing. You must try the carne asada and carnitas tacos, both are really good. We showed up just in time, there was a line of lunch goers that frequently come here for lunch, I highly recommend giving this place a shot! Also, they are very friendly! read more

I've been hearing rave reviews about Thyda's Tacos for a while now, but finding the time to stop by for lunch between work and school has always been a challenge. However, that changed recently! Tucked away across from Whole Foods, Thyda's Tacos may not be the easiest spot to find, but follow your nose or look for the crowd, and you'll discover some seriously tasty tacos and burritos. The only downside? Be prepared to wait; our order took a solid 30 minutes. Here's what I tried: Carne Asada Burrito: If you're going to Thyda's, the burritos are a must. This was hands down the best burrito I've had at any Mexican joint around here. They're generously sized and packed full. The carne asada was good, but the lengua would have been better. Lengua Bowl: The presentation of the bowl caught me off guard, and while it was decent, it didn't quite match the magic of the burrito. However, the lengua was exceptional--tender, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. Horchata: This was hands down the best horchata I've ever tasted on the island. Unlike the watery versions elsewhere, this one was rich in rice flavor, perfectly sweetened, and infused with delightful cinnamon notes. Chips and Salsa: While they may use Tostitos for the chips, it's forgiven once you taste the salsa. Fresh and vibrant, I particularly enjoyed the crushed tomatoes mixed with cilantro. Their variety of salsas, especially the salsa verde and another incredibly spicy one (I have no clue what it was), were a highlight. Mixing them together with each bite was a flavor explosion. Had a chance to check out Thyda's Tacos in Kakaako, Honolulu, a nifty food truck that's all about the tacos and burritos. Giving it a solid four stars. First things first, I have to say that the wait was pretty lengthy. If you're coming here during peak times, you might want to brace yourself for a bit of a line. That being said, the service was impressive -- the staff was friendly and efficient, making the waiting game a bit more bearable. Now, onto the food. We got a burrito (carne asada) and two tacos (carne asada and lengua). While the tacos and burritos weren't particularly groundbreaking or anything, they were well-prepared and pretty satisfying. However, do note that the prices are on the steeper side, with tacos ringing in at about $4 each, and burritos around the $14 mark. All in all, Thyda's Tacos might not serve up the most unique fare, but they do a good job at delivering what they promise -- decent tacos and burritos. Just be prepared to shell out a bit more cash and wait a little longer for your food. But hey, that's part of the food truck charm, right? read more

First off: It's a food truck not a sit down and be waited on establishment. So whenever you order a couple of burritos they flash the screen at you with one of the lowest tip options being about half the price of your order which is pretty offensive I think we're all pretty tired of that. And if you're a vegetarian you might want to go somewhere else After clearly explaining to them that you're a vegetarian they'll slip you a chicken burrito and not even tell you so you won't figure that out until you take a few bites of it just poor service all around read more
