Lengua Burrito

We spent the day on the North Shore and didn't get back into town until around 7:30 PM. Since it's nearly impossible to get through by phone, we ordered DoorDash for pickup. I arrived at the restaurant before the order was ready and was told it would be out shortly, but I wasn't informed that they were out of the chile rellenos. Unfortunately, I didn't check the order until I got home and discovered that my chile rellenos had been replaced with cheese enchiladas instead. While the food is normally great, it was disappointing not to receive what I originally ordered especially since by the time I realized it, the restaurant was minutes from closing and they don't answer the phone. I'll be more mindful next time when ordering online, although it's difficult to call ahead to check item availability since I can never get through by phone.

Flauta
Sydni K.

Came here on a Friday for dinner and ordered the flauta with shredded beef. This is definitely my favorite dish from here. I love the crispy flauta with the crunchy onions on top. The portion of this is huge. It surprisingly wasn't crowded when we came and there was ample parking in the lot, as well as seating. Seating is in a covered outdoor area, so we were getting hit pretty hard with the sun. Service was decently quick during this visit.

Food is always delicious. Parking right in front. Wait time may be awhile but it's made to order. One of my regular go to order spots.

Serg's is definitely one of my favorite Mexican Restaurants on Oahu. We had the taco salad and flautas. It comes with Mexican rice, beans, their homemade salsa, and we also ordered a side of their chips as well. They have adequate seating outside and price is reasonable also.

I wanted to eat Mexican food and My daughter want to eat were pets are allowed so we decided to try Serg's Mexican Kitchen. They have 2 parking areas and 2 separate outside seating areas, we got there and you need to order from the counter and they will call your number when your food is ready for pick up. I had the Burrito with chopped chicken plate which comes with rice and black beans. The burrito was dry not moist and no flavor it did have inside fresh vegetables and guacamole and sour cream, maybe it would be better to order it wet with sauce smothered over it. Left half the plate uneaten. The Serg's nacho had a lot of chopped steak and sour cream and black beans, which also was on the bland side with hardly and taste or flavor. Not sure how the other burrito with steak plate was, there was no comment and looking over there was left overs on the plate. Same with the Famous Flauta nothing said and left overs on the plate.

I spend half my year in Baja and visit family in the Midwest where arguably have the best Mexican food outside of Mexico. I got the shredded beef flautas and everything was absolutely delicious. Meat was so tender and flavorful and even the rice and beans are making you go back and back and for more. I will be coming back at least once per week :)

Love the decor and Mexican feel of this place. Appreciated the friendly helpful service when the cashier gave us answers to what options are most popular and the cook behind the counter handing me extra sour cream at no charge without hesitation, but a smile. We ordered their Elote, chimichanga with pork, and Flauta with Al pastor. All tasted really good with lots of flavor. Portions are huge as well, so bring an appetite. We left feeling full, happy and satisfied. We also will definitely be recommending this place to friends and family when they are seeking close to authentic Mexican food. Place is located in Manoa, near the Manoa shopping center. Go now if you're hungry!

Enchilada plate was fat. Same with chicken quesadillas. Rice and beans tasted how they look

Menu has tons of options and the staff was really welcoming. Parking can be a little tricky for first timers, I pulled into a full lot then backed out and got parking on the other side. Food came out pretty quick and there's lots of space to eat. Kids enjoyed their food and although, I don't have any complaints, it was more island Mex than authentic taste. The rice and beans were filling, but kids wouldn't touch theirs. It wasn't that bad, but was more of a filler than tasty side. Good portions and pretty good price point too, so I might come back and try the menudo when I'm in the area.

Went back to Sergs and got my usual steak quesadilla order. Always consistently good. Served with quac and sour cream. I always love putting both inside of the quesadilla and adding a little salt. Yum!! It's to this day my favorite thing from Serg's Also Happy hour serves them half off! Believe it's weekdays from 3PM-5pm. Be sure to check it out sometime :)

Chips n salsa

Sergs used to be great back in the day...today was the last time I'll ever go here. It is continuously gone downhill. Their chips were stale and bland, all of the sauces tasted not fresh and in these tiny plastic containers. And the burrito was honestly the saddest thing I've ever eaten. It wasn't warm it was straight up cold tortilla like fresh outta the bag from the grocery store and I opened it up and it was literally just fish, lettuce and sour cream. I put the beans and rice in there myself the beans were lackluster and so was the rice. Everything was cold. Honestly, it was super disappointing. If I had known it would've been this bad I would've gone to Taco Bell and probably enjoyed it more if you want good Mexican on the island there are many other better options now. Papis tacos north shore but if you're in town, thydas tacos for their burrito or tight tacos in kaimuki is legit. This place shouldn't even call themselves Mexican. If the service had been better I wouldnt have bothered to write a bad review but this was such a waste of money. Sad! Hope they can do better! It's a prime location but they just lost a few customers who've been coming here for ages.

No salsas/ definitely no silverware
Dae Dae M.

Ordered a lengua burrito from them from door dash! There were no napkins silverware nor salsa! What kind of Mexican place doesn't give you salsa for their burritos! In San Diego , plenty of salsas red and green are given for tacos and burritos! I can't complain because you don't go to hawaii for Mexican food! But was a let down~ I couldn't enjoy my meal without salsas! The food is descent but definitely does not HIT especially if you are going for the authentic taste! Sad let down! Again no salsas? Seriously?

Birria Torta
Sandra X.

I got the birria torta from Serg's for $16.50, and it was HUUUUUUGE! (The pic doesn't do the torta justice though.) Bigger than my hand with fingers spread out--I was stuffed after eating just half. The torta was loaded with birria meat, melted cheese, guacamole, mayo, and black beans, with lettuce and pico de gallo on the side. It was served fresh, hot, and so aromatic--absolutely ono. The torta was STUFFED to the brim, with the birria meat and cheese literally spilling out of the buns and off the plate. Despite how packed the sandwich was, the bread-to-filling ratio was perfect. The bread itself was soft, spongy, and not too dense but still very filling. The birria meat was juicy, tender, and flavorful, while the melted cheese was hot, stretchy, and indulgent. The creamy beans and generous guacamole, with chunks of avocado and a delicious splash of lime flavor, really added to the richness. The lettuce was crispy and pico de gallo was refreshing, which helped balance out the heaviness of the sandwich, creating a wonderful harmony of flavors. Easily a 5/5 stars dish! Ordering is done at the window, and there's outdoor seating available. The service was quick and friendly. They play music, and it's clearly a popular spot--by the time I got there at 7:45 PM on a Wednesday, the line was already building. Parking is convenient, with about 15 stalls total on both sides of the restaurant.

Very poorly run restaurant. Parking situation is terrible and the pick up / ordering line is extremely disorganized.

They've also put down more markers for customer parking which has been helpful in picking up food from here. The line can be long at times but they keep it moving quickly once you get inside. Hubs and I started dabbling beyond our usual kalbi and garlic chicken combo and crunchy garlic with tater tots. We tried a new addition to their menu: poké nachos. I've seen these elsewhere on island but their wontons are freshly fried, spiced with furikake, and don't feel too heavy. It's a nice vehicle to eat their poke and comes with Taegu as well as crab and seaweed salad. Did I have it twice in one week? Also yes. Their fish patties are moist and flavorful. Can't go wrong with their poke selection, good mouthfeel, fresh fish, and flavors are delicious. The energy here is fast paced and all the workers are kind/ answer questions. I'm not sure if I like so much merchandise from other businesses attracting us while waiting in line. The space is already small. The ambiance could be improved by downsizing on local merchandise. We are standing in line to purchase poke not other stuff. Consider refreshing that space. Service has always been good.
